Location description from owner

The North Wales region

North Wales is known for its dramatic scenery, lush green hills and countryside. Making it an ideal place for walkers, cyclists and outdoor pursuits enthusiasts. However it has more than its share of historical buildings such as castles (Chirk Castle) and stately homes (Erddig) The regions industrial and mining heritage is well illustrated by the number of small railways, and canals. Finally the World Heritage site of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is well worth a visit.

Llangollen

The Ceiriog Valley was called 'A little piece of heaven on earth' by Lloyd George, and indeed it is. Straight from the front door there are numerous walks and bike rides, or visit the stables just two minutes walk away to go pony treking or quad biking. Llangollen is well served by outdoor persuits companies who can offer tuition in pretty much any activity you wish to try. For those of you who love your history, the National Trust attractions of Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park are close by. The area is well served by a number of excellent restaurants and pubs. All the big supermarkets deliver while Glyn Ceiriog has post office, Spar, cafe and cash point.

“Lovely stay at Erw Gerrig”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2017

My husband and I and our 2 daughters aged 9 and 5 had a very nice stay here over the long Easter weekend. Very helpful owners. Beautiful peaceful valley location. Cosy cottage with lovely old world features and a slightly quirky layout which adds to the charm. Cottage had everything we needed and more besides. Air hockey and toy train a bonus! Thank you very much for having us.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in you're lovely cottage. We had the most wonderful time from start to finish. The cottage location was spot on with lots of lovely walks near by which we enjoyed with our dogs. The cottage itself was very homely and we immediately felt welcome with milk in the fridge and a packet of biscuits in the cupboard. The locals were lovely as was the owner of the cottage who was there on arrival and otherwise contactable via the landline should we need anything. Each and every second of our break was thoroughly enjoyed and we would be back in a heartbeat. Thanks again, Alex and gang
