Description from owner

Description

The scandinavian style house is rated 4 star by the tourist board. Enjoy the comfort of the house throughout the seasons. It sits adjacent to another on the edge of a valley with fields in the distance and woodland below bordering the River Cegidog. Tree Tops is in an agricultural area with its 500 metre driveway it seems as though it is miles from anywhere and yet it is so close to everything a holidaymaker or business traveller could want. The owners who live on site have constructed the whole complex with its 8 fly fishing lakes and self catering accommodation.

The birdlife at Tree Tops is very varied, and the flylife of the fishing lakes is very extensive. The houses are approx 50 metres from the first fishing lake. Enjoy self catering or make use of the 17th century inn/restaurant in Llanfynydd village one mile away. It is a great area for walking, on top of Hope Mountain there is a country park with far reaching views to Moel Fammau or as far as Lancashire the other way.

The North Wales region

North East Wales is situated in an area of reduced rainfall caused by the fhon effect received from Mount Snowdon which is in North West Wales. It is in the foothills of Wales, Tree Tops being just 7 miles from the English border. Tree Tops overlooks a stretch of Offa's Dyke which was built by King Offa to keep the Welsh out of England! Nowadays visitors receive a much more hospitable welcome. Besides a quick trip of 20 mins car journey over the border brings to magnificent Roman/Elixabethan Chester where you can explore the city with its 2 tier Elizabethan rows now housing exclusive shops, or you could walk the complete city walls or enjoy a walk by the river or on a river cruiser. The Chester cathedral is worth a visit too.

Llanfynydd

Daniel Owen the famous Welsh poet was born in Mold. There is a street market in Mold every Wednesday and Saturday, farm market too on a Saturday. Three miles out of Mold you will find Moel Fammau, drive to part of the way up the mountain, enjoy the views and walk to the monument on the top. Continue on down to the lovely Vale of Clwyd and on to the coast, the nearest beach the Frith or go a bit further to Llandudno with its Victorian buildings on a broad sweeping bay. Snowdonia is very close where you can climb to the peak of Mount Snowdon or take the Victorian railway to the top. Another day you could go to Llangollen (approx 25 mins from tree Tops) taking the Beautiful Horseshoe Pass road. In Llangollen there is the gushing River Dee, the canal with horse drawn boats, the railway and every July the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. The World Heritage Site of the Froncysyllte aqueduct is only mins away, where you can walk across and marvel at Thomas Telford's wonderful construction. There are 2 national Trust properties just 10 mins from Tree Tops, Chirk Castle and Erddig Hall.
