“Lovely property looking out towards the Gower Peninsula”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2017

We are a family of 5 (2 adults and children age 13, 10 and 7 years) and spent October half term holiday in Bay View, Pwll and had a great week at this house. You access the property from the rear down a narrow road, where there is parking for one vehicle. It is set into the hillside and so there is a staircase down from the parking to a small garden that contains a trampoline, outdoor table and BBQ area. The front has a lovely view out to the Gower Peninsula. Rob lives next door and immediately helped us to remove our 5 mountain bikes from the car and offered us his garage as secure storage for them; which we accepted for the first night, but were then content to lock them up underneath the canopy provided by the staircase at the back of the garden. We were welcomed with milk in the fridge and a batch of his now ‘infamous’ homemade Welsh cakes, which were devoured! The property was lovely and clean and had everything that we needed. There is a kitchen, dining room and lounge, also Wi-Fi and a Smart TV, a Nintendo Wii console and a cupboard under the stairs containing toys for younger children. The first floor has a bathroom with a bath and shower over it, 2 large bedrooms, one a double bedroom and the second contains a bunk bed (lower bunk a double size), a single bed and a child’s cot. The second floor has a large bathroom containing a Jacuzzi bath with shower over it; the bedroom has a Queen Size bed and then a further double bed that can be partitioned off by simply closing a large curtain that has been provided. The location of the property is a 5 minute walk to one of the access points to the Millennium Coastal Path which is a 7 mile traffic-free tarmac pathway (for both walkers and cyclists) which starts at Llanelli and follows the coastline through Pwll Village, Burry Port and finishes at the Pembrey Country Park. It is also part of the National Cycle Network (Route 4). Rob is a sports enthusiast being a tri-athlete who competes in Iron Man races and is extremely knowledgeable of the area. He kindly offered us his entry pass to Pembrey Country Park for the week (which is a 15 minute drive away), although the fee is only £2 for the day. There are numerous car parks which all provide access to a large beach around the coastline or you can explore miles of forest bike trails. There is a horse riding trail with jumps, a miniature railway and a small adventure playground for younger children. Our children also enjoyed a couple of lessons at Ski Pembrey, which is based within the Country Park and has an artificial Ski Slope and a toboggan ride. We found it to be a great base to explore other areas as we drove to the Gower Peninsula (45 minutes) and walked along Oxwich Bay and then it was an hour to drive to Tenby for the day. We would love to return to this area again for another holiday.

“Highly Recommended”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2017

Just returned from a 4 night stay with children, their partners and grandchildren. Great spotless and spacious accomodation, comfortable beds, outside space and welcoming host. Within easy reach are the beautiful beaches on the Gower and the amazing beach at Pembrey Park which we only discovered on the last day.

“I so recommend to rent this house”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2013

I rented this house for 10 days with my friends this summer. It was so amazing housing there. The house is so clean and beautiful. In the first floor the kitchen and living room are very comfortable and all stuff needed are provided, so you didn't have to buy plates, spoons, and so on. And other 2 floors are rooms, which have the big and new beds. I like the bathrooms. We could have take a bath in so comfortable condition and they have the beautiful interior. Most of all, the household is very kind. He is caring not only house condition but the visitors' comforts also. I and my friends were so touched by his kindness. So I really want to recommend to rent this house.
