Location description from owner

The Wales region

Ancient castles and ruins, beaches, amazing scenery, theme parks and attractions - West Wales has it all. Carmarthenshire is called the 'Garden of Wales' and has the National Botanical Gardens. Carmarthen town is said to be the oldest in Wales and the home of the legendary wizard, Merlin. There are days out in all directions - the old walled seaside town of Tenby, St Davids, the smallest city in Britain, busy Swansea and the famous Mumbles promenade, the Gower Peninsula - Britain's first designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The rugged and beautiful Brecon Beacons national park for a drive or hiking is another option. Plenty for the children: Oakwood, Folly Farm, Heronsbrook activity parks and indoor play centres locally for a rainy day.

The climate is generally mild being by the coast with rainfall likely throughout the year. It can vary tremendously from day to day so we recommend bringing clothing for all eventualities.

Llanelli

The Llanelli area has emerged from its industrial past to become an up and coming tourism centre. We are situated midway on the Millenium coastal cycle path with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre at one end and Pembrey Country park with activities and the award winning Cefn Sidan beach at the other end. Top quality golf courses, Ffos Las racecourse and Pembrey motor circuit are close by Burry Port harbour and lighthouse is a great place to watch the sun go down. Plenty of walkway and lakes along the coast.

“Very well equipped cottage with fantastic views”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2016

Visiting family in the area so great to find such a fabulous cottage so close. It is very well equipped with everything you could need for a break including an en suite, a dishwasher and WiFi!! The views across the estuary to the Gower are spectacular and we would love to return in warmer weather to enjoy the view whilst sitting outside. Loads of lovely walks straight from the door down to the Millenium path and would recommend the country park at Pembrey and Kidwelly Castle

“Fabulous views, perfect accommodation and excellent host.”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2015

The accommodation is very well appointed and comfortable. Two bathrooms is a bous for 5 adults. Host went out of his way for us. Location is great looking over the sea and handy to a great village as well as Llanelli. We had an excellent stay.

“Cozy, peaceful haven!”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2015

Very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent facilities and tastefully done up. Within easy reach are walks along sea front. It's a short drive to Llanelli for shops (supermarkets and takeaways). Also can drive to Pembrey Burry Port and get on train to Tenby. Burry Port has nice café with Post Office inside called Penny Black. Also a convenience store. There are two ways into the cottage area, one driveway could do with some attention to make access a little easier.

“Cottage & location perfect”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2014

We found the cottage very comfortable, clean & well equipped, Vic, Una & their daughter who lived next door were very friendly & helpful without being intrusive. The best thing for us was the location, the cottage was very close to an excellent cycle track that went past some very good beaches & a lovely country Park. The Gower was a short drive away with its lovely beaches & villages. We had a brilliant week staying at the Bluebell cottage & were never short of thing to do & see.

“A home from home”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2013

Owners went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant & we had everything we needed! Great views were an unexpected bonus. It was our first trip away with our first born at 5 months to meet her great grandpa and so it was the perfect place for a young family as you could treat it just like home, come & go as you pleased without the worry of disturbing other guests if we had instead stayed in a hotel or B&B. Excellent value for money too.
