Description from owner

Description

We have two Shepherd Huts here on our site - one that can sleep 2 adults and 2 children (up to age of 15 as the hut is NOT suitable for four adults) and one that has a fixed bed and can sleep 2 adults and one child. The Huts are ideally located close to the North Wales coast and half way between the historic town of Conwy and the seaside resort of Llandudno both of which are only a 10 minute drive away. There are numerous places to visit and activities to do for both young and old including numerous National Trust properties, dry ski slope, cable car and toboggan run, zip wires across lakes and ravines, cave trampolines, the Welsh Mountain Zoo and the beautiful Snowdonia National Park to walk in - if you want to walk up the highest mountain in Wales Snowdon it is only a 25 minute drive away. An inland surfing centre opened in the summer of 2015 and I have included some pictures of this on the site. The North Wales area is also getting popular with the Rally GB and several stages have occurred in the local area - including one around the Great Orme in Llandudno.

Each Shepherd Hut is fitted with a kettle, TV/DVD, microwave, toaster and heater. There is a 2 ring cooker located outside in a covered cooking area. There is a heater in both huts as we are open throughout the year and they are fully insulted with high tog rating bedding so lovely and cosy. There is bedding located in the blanket boxes under the seats including quilts, pillows and roll out beds for the children.

There is a hot tub on site which can be used wherever you want to – it is set at 40 degrees so very enjoyable even on a cold days. Please note that the hot tub is available to use by both huts. There is a toilet and shower available in a near by outbuilding. We have some ducks and chickens on the site so free range eggs can be purchased on a daily basis.

We are also a dog friendly site (as long as they are kept under control due to being surrounded by sheep country) and there are numerous walks straight from the farm including a near by obelisk with far reaching views to Puffin Island on Anglesey and part of the Snowdonia National Park.

We have two huts on site so if there is no availability shown on the dates you want please just send me an enquiry and I can easily check if the other hut is available to book. Thanks.

Getting around

Because we are located in the country side the best way to get around is by car. However, in the summer some buses do run from the village and the time tables are in the information pack in the hut. I have also included train times and taxi firms that could be used in the welcome pack.

Interaction with guest

I will always welcome guests and show them the facilities and hand the key over. There is a welcome pack in the hut which gives information about the huts and the surrounding area. I can also provide any further help if guests require.

House rules

This site is suitable for kids even though we only have two huts on site. There is a large flat area in front of the huts and there are some swings and play ground located about 10 minutes away in the village.

We welcome pets, with no charge, but ask that they are kept under control as we are surrounded by sheep country.

Please note that the family hut is not suitable for four adults.

Please note smoking is not allowed in the hut but you can smoke in any area outside.

“Shepherd Huts in December”

Reviewed 9 Dec 2018

Beautiful idyllic setting over looking Conwy. The huts are fitted with everything you need and are surprisingly very cosy and warm for a cold wet/windy December. We were even fitted with Christmas decorations which was a locely gesture. There is also a BBQ & fire pit. Hot tub is amazing with views of Conwy castle lit up at night is a treat. Each hut has a cool box, 2 ring gas stove and washing up equipment and stored in a lean to wooden shed. There is also a fridge in the main building where there is a lovely maintained shower and toilet. Adrianne friendly and approachable for any questions.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for such a great review and very informative for the other guests, I am so glad you enjoyed the hot tub as this time of year is the ideal time to use it. I hope to see you again soon and many thanks for your booking. All the best for the new year. Adrianne

“Amazing place to stay with idyllic views!”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2018

We had a fantastic stay in the Shepherds huts this weekend. The hosts are so accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! The views are breathtaking and being able to relax in a hot tub and appreciate them is amazing! The shepherds huts are unique and built with everything you could possibly needs from all kitchen necessities, TV, comfy bed and so much more! The outhouse was lovely and had a fridge to keep drinks etc in plus fire bowls and a bbq to enjoy in the evening! We even had a takeaway delivered to us! We had the bonus of beautiful weather too! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay and will be back soon! Thank you!

Owner's reply: Many thanks for such a great review with extra information about the facilities. We have been so lucky to get this great weather - if it carries on I will need a cold tub not a hot tub! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon. All the best Adrianne

“Cute and cosy”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2018

A well needed break in a beautiful place. The weather was horrendous..what felt like a hurricane outside, Adrianne offered us a 'proper room' but we felt safe and warm in the hut, although at one point, we joked that we might wake up in a different location! We wondered out to the great orme summit, it was a nice drive in the car, not so much on foot in the wind! And a for a wonder around the castle. It was a shame the hottub wasn't working,(I don't think we would have used it with the gale force winds!) But the prosecco went down lovely. Thank you again xx

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your review and so glad you enjoyed your stay. The hot tub is up and running now as it needed a new pump so I would like to apologise but glad you enjoyed the prosecco! Hope to see you again soon. Thanks again Adrianne

“Fantastic! Would 100% recomend!”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2017

Adrianne and her partner were lovely. They were there to meet us on arrival and after a quick tour they left us to enjoy the evening. The hut was lovely and clean, all the amenities we needed, toaster, microwave, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar as well all mugs, plates and pants. Outside there was a camping kitchen and cooler box (with a fridge in the main house). Fire pit and outside seating areas to enjoy the amazing views. There was even binoculars so we could get a glimpse of Conwy Castle. Fire wood and fire lighters were provided. There were solar lights so guide you to the main house in the night, where the bathroom is, as well as a large living room where you can also hang out if you wanted too, with board games, dvd's and room to change for the hot tub. The hot tub was lovely, clean and just the right temperature hidden from view of the main house so we felt totally secluded whilst enjoying the views. All in all this is a great location, with amazing views and wonderful hospitality and perfect for couples who want a relaxed glamming experience. I will be visiting again!

Owner's reply: Many thanks for such a lovely review. You have explained the facilities so well which helps other guests so many thanks for this. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and the weather was ok for you. Thanks again and hope to see you again soon. Best wishes for Christmas and New year. Dave and Adrianne

“shepards huts”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2017

Me and my partner stayed last weekend. Couldn't of asked for more. The location is perfect and the views are immense. The hut was clean and cosy. A short drive to Conwy and Llandudno. The hosts were so friendly, my friends came down on the Saturday, but unfortunately the other hut was rented. Adrianne said they could still come back to our hut with us and have a BBQ and drinks and also allowed them to use the hot tub with us! They have two dogs who tend to wonder to your hut throughout the day, aswell as chickens and a couple of ducks. This just made the weekend even better. We will definitely be coming back again soon! i can't praise them enough, the pictures don't do the huts and views from the farm justice. You really have to see it with your own eyes! Thank you for everything, we will be seeing you again sometime in the future :). Aaron and emily.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for such a fantastic review and high score and I am so glad you and your friends all enjoyed themselves here. I am glad the dogs, chickens and ducks behaved themselves. I hope to see you again soon. Thanks again Adrianne ☺
