Carreg cottage is In an idyllic rural setting in the Towy valley, two miles from the historic and quirky town of Llandeilo, it is an ideal base for visiting Wales. It is within easy reach of the breath-taking scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the beaches of West Wales and the splendid gardens of the Towy valley. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales, with its great glasshouse, and Aberglasney Gardens are just minutes away. The bustling town of Carmarthen and the city of Swansea are both easily reached by car.Named after nearby Carreg Cennen castle this stone cottage is one of three cottages converted from former farm buildings. An old stone threshing barn has also been converted into a games room with tabletennis, snooker, book shelves and toys. The cottage has its own patio area and also has use of the large lawned garden and can wander in the recently replanted orchard which is surrounded by ancient oak trees. A relaxing, peaceful area from the mountains of the Brecon Beacons to the glorious sandy beaches of the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire coasts. Plenty to do for all nature lovers, castle enthusiasts and gardeners. The National Botanic Garden of Wales with its great glasshouse is a "must visit" place and is just a short drive from the cottage.With its mild climate throughout the year the area is an ideal place for that get away break during the dark months of winter

Llandeilo

The quirky town of Llandeilo with its cafes, art galleries and small shops is just 1.5 miles from the cottage. This busy small town hosts regular festivals throughout the year. The most popular being the Jazz Festival and the Music Festival. There is plenty for the visitor to see and do in the area. Newton House stands as the focal point of Dinefwr Park. Dinefwr Castle and Castle Woods can be enjoyed by walkers and bird watchers.Aberglasney Gardens is a "must see" for all garden lovers.
