“Great and tranquil stay”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2013

Booking with and staying at the Lodge were all excellent- John made it very clear and easy to book; and he was there to meet us and guide us round the property. The house was clean and roomy, with every amenity provided that we might need. The location is great- short taxi ride or bus into the bustling city centre. Even the neighbours were really friendly! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and if we return to Liverpool The Lodge will be our very first choice! Thanks again John!

“Comfortable property in an easy to find location”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2012

I stayed here with my wife, daughter, daughters partner, teenage grandson and newborn grandson. The property is an old lodge which has been redecorated and fitted with a new bathroom and kitchen. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again. The property abuts a main road but we had absolutely no issue with traffic noise in fact the house was very quiet at all times. The neighbours who live in the houses to the rear were absolutely fantastic when the main lock on the front door failed. I cannot thank them enough for their help. The beds in the lodge are so comfortable we even noted down the name of the mattress manufacturer so that we can buy the same mattress. The Lodge had no real negatives but it would benefit from a blind being installed in the bathroom and replacement/refurbishment of the exterior doors. Overall a great stay in a pleasant property. Thanks very much to the landlord John and his colleague who dealt with us during our stay (Steve?)

“Very homely, owner very welcoming. Perfect property. Everything you need for your stay.”

Our children & grandchildren stayed with us. Total of 5 adults and 2 toddlers and 1 baby. We never felt that we were in each others way. This large family house has everything you will need. (we took our own travel cot) each room was very spacious, very clean and tidy. Even though were where on a main road, you would never know it. We did not hear the traffic. The area was nice. Close to town. The owner was there to greet us, he was very helpful, friendly and if needed was on call for us. We loved it here, we are originally from Liverpool but moved away, we wanted somewhere to stay to attend a family party, the price of the Lodge is very reasonable, everthing you need has been thought of, even down to a hairdryer and hair straighteners. Ther is plenty of wardrobe space. The shower and bath is brilliant, constant hot water. What a deep bath...... sooo nice after a long day out. My husband & I always worry about the mattress when we go away, the beds here are great, our mattress was nice & firm, but you could always lay on the spare duvet if this is too firm for you. It was perfect for us, every single person with us agreed that the beds were so comfy. Like I said, this was very homely, just home from home. The owner and his wife have even got a selection of board games. What more could you ask for.
