Location description from owner

The England region

The Peak District is a beautiful region with miles and miles of country walking, climbing, cycling and all kinds of outdoor pursuits on your doorstep. Hire a bicycle at Blackwell Mill or Hassop Station and ride through the newly opened tunnels between Buxton and Bakewell on the Monsal trail, visit historic Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, wander through the local market towns of Bakewell and Buxton, swim in an outdoor heated swimming pool at Hathersage, experience a natural Cavern in Castleton, there are many things to see and do. The Peak District is also a good base for exploring the Heart of England and North of England and for visiting Alton Towers. There are lots of country pubs in our region, many that also accept dogs and serve fabulous food. A perfect way to relax after enjoying the outdoors. Tideswell Food festival is in May, wakes time in June, July and August in our region, so you might be able to see Welldressings being made and join in the festivities at a local carnival.

Litton

Litton is a picturesque chocolate box village, popular with walkers and has a highly regarded dog friendly pub serving food with additional outdoor seating on the green and a village shop. Litton is within walking distance of Tideswell, famed for its "Cathedral of the Peak" and Tideswell School of Food. Tideswell is a charming village with many amenities including pubs, cafés, post office, second hand bookshop, butcher's greengrocer's and gift shops. There are miles and miles of country walks literally from your doorstep and good bus links to other towns and villages.

“Excellent quaint base for a peak district break”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2013

When you arrive at a location to a spotless warm flat to tea bags fresh milk and chocolate biscuits - you know you are in for a treat. An open planned lounge/kitchen with a bedroom big enough for your break and a modern bathroom is ample for us as a couple with dogs being welcomed. Over looking the rolling peaks in Litton local amenities are just a walk away as is the very next town of Tideswell. A good selection of books and board games as well as free wifi help the evenings and relaxation times. Ordnance survey maps and guides also on hand to plan your stay My only regret is i didnt meet our expectional hosts who live in adjacent property. Cracking property cracking time away and will be first choice for our next visit.

Thank you, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry we didn't get the opportunity to meet you - we do aim to give our guests a peaceful, uninterrupted stay but are available in case of problems, of course. We hope to see you in the future!

“Lovely place to relax, recharge & forget the 'stresses', with home comforts & more!”

Super fully equipped apartment, with lovely welcome by friendly helpful owners! Great to be able to take our dog with us, (small enclosed front garden for him to sniff & patrol!) Beautiful rural views & walks from the door! Good location for easy access to many beautiful areas of the Peak District! Hope to return soon!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We hope to see you again sometime!
