“Beautiful apartment in a stunning location”
We love this property! This year was our second visit and we have already booked for next summer. We now live abroad, but like to go back to Derbyshire every summer to visit friends and family. This property is the ideal base. It's a little out in the wilds - accessed by a long single track lane, but that is part of it's appeal. Because of it's location surrounded by hills, there is no mobile phone signal, but a payphone is provided though it won't take incoming calls. There is good wifi though. The apartment itself is lovely - on the ground floor of a converted mill. Living space is open plan with the well equipped kitchen raised on a slight mezzanine. The master bedroom is lovely with a large bathroom and the second twin room is also a good size. The third bedroom is small for a double, with a tiny bathroom, but the fact that all three bedrooms have en-suite is a big plus! The location is stunning - on the Monsal trail, but within easy reach of Buxton in one direction and Bakewell in the other. Because it's on old mill, the river is literally under the window! Parking is provided for one car in the basement and there is also some parking at ground level for visitors. We have had two great holidays there and am already looking to our visit next summer!

“Luxury apartment in peaceful setting for activity holiday,or exploring Peak District by car.”
Very comfortable apartment, felt like home immediately..once we'd figured out the shower & cooker! Beds were the best,& the location ideal, you can get into the beautiful country side straight from the front door with walks all around. Our only problem was with the heating set up with the British weather being unpredictable, we needed to be able to over ride the set up but were advised to only alter it when it was timed to come on.
Owner's reply: You could override the temperature on the heating at any time (up or down) but it would revert back to the set temperature at each of the set times (6.30am, 10am, 4.30pm, 10.30pm). You were the first guests with the new control and I may not have explained it very well on my email.
“Apartment with the WOW factor”
We had an excellent holiday at 6 Litton Mill. This is a large spacious apartment in a tranquil setting. The kitchen is well equipped if you like to self cater or there are lots of pubs around for meals. Excellent location for cycling as it is located just below the Monsal Trail and there are lots of other trails not far away. There are also lots of walks straight from the door.
“Lovely spacious apartment”
Lovely apartment to chill out in with great walks direct from the door. We spent 3 days with friends and everything was perfect. Would recommend this apartment if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a town and enjoy the outdoors walking, cycling and even rock climbing.
“Fabulous Christmas in Perfect Apartment”
We spent our third Christmas at Litton Mill and it was as perfect as ever. The apartment is spacious and well furnished. The beds and sofa in the huge lounge are luxurious, the kitchen is well-equipped and the location is just perfect. We got out on many fabulous walks - made all the more special by the snow: Heaven! We would recommend the apartment highly.
“Great large apartment close to the river”
This apartment is stunning, really spacious and modern. There are 3 rooms, a master room with a huge bathroom, a twin with ensuite and a 3rd bedroom which is a double ensuite but very snug. The lounge is really huge and open plan with the kitchen which was so cool, we loved hanging out there with the running water rushing past underneath the windows, great views. We would definitely stay here again. Bring your own dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid as nothing was provided - the only negative point really. Everything else about this was awesome. Also no phone access but there is wifi.
Owner's reply: There should be washing up liquid & dishwasher tablets...I will have to talk to the cleaner she is supposed to replenish as necessary. Also to clarify about the phone access...there is no mobile signal in the area and for that reason we provide a payphone at the property...so there is phone access.
“Great location with walks on the doorstep”
We wanted a winter escape and this was great. Quiet and yet with walks right on the doorstep even if we did run out of light one evening.
“Excellent Peak District experience”
We stayed here 11th to 18th October and had a really enjoyable time. The apartment is so spacious and comfortable, especially the super king sized bed in the master bedroom. We booked the week here mainly so we could spend time with grandparents who live nearby,but we also had time to enjoy a walk along the monsal trail through the tunnels to Monsal Head where we sat having an ice cream enjoying the view. We used to live nearby and the Monsal Trail was one of our favourite walks, but we moved to the Highlands of Scotland eight years ago, so walking along the trail now the tunnels have been opened up was a great experience for our three kids and ourselves .The kids also enjoyed feeding the ducks and the trout, and were amazed to see squirrels and herons from the apartment windows. Our seventeen year old daughter rated the Wi-Fi very good. It was very reliable and a good strong signal in all rooms. If you're wanting take-away fish and chips I can highly recommend The Corner Chippy at Tideswell, tasty fish, great chips and really nice steak pies. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely consider booking it again.
“Superb spacious apartment”
Really loved this jaw droppingly apartment ! The huge lounge was perfect to relax in with the family. Kitchen well equipped to cook a variety of meals. Bedrooms were lovely especially the extremely comfortable matresses ,we all slept really well. It was a real bonus for all three bedrooms to have an ensuite too. Location was stunning ,with views of the river and wildlife .We could even spot trout from the alcove window. Even the journey down the road that runs alongside the river to and from the apartment was magical.

Litton Mill is a wonderful apartment in a converted mill, very spacious and with everything we needed for our holiday. There were lovely views of the river from every window. The location is very picturesque with lots of walks right from the door or within a short drive and cycle hire is nearby to make the most of the Monsal trail which passes right above the mill. There is also a pub serving great food within walking distance.
