The Estremadura region
Near Lisbon there three places you should not miss:
1st. Cascais - Catching the train that runs every 30 minutes or so, you can quickly reach Cascais. The train makes a breathtaking journey along the Atlantic coast where you can see a wide variety of beaches. The main sites are: Oeiras, Carcavelos, Estoril (where the famous Casino). In Cascais, you can visit some museums, such as the "House of Stories of the painter Paula Rego," or do activities such as golf, sail, windsurf, horse riding and cycling along the sea.
2nd. Sintra - World Heritage, continues to delight us with his Mystic, the Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, Regaleira Estate, Capuchin Convent, the Palace of Monserrate, etc.. Easy access by train from Rossio station.
3rd. Beaches of Costa de Caparica, is part of a set of beautiful golden beaches that stretch along 15 kilometers. Most beaches have lifeguard during the summer, bars and parking. There is a train that operates solely in the summer months, by which you can stroll along the beaches. You can get to the Costa da Caparica by bus or ferry boat.
Bears the mark of an incredible heritage with laid-back pride.
The city also presents an intriguing variety of faces to those who's wandering in the switchback streets. In the oldest neighbourhoods, stepped alleys are lined with pastel-colour houses and crossed by laundry hung out to dry. Here and there miradouros offer a spectacular river or city views. In the grand 18th-century centre, black-and-white mosaic cobblestone sidewalks border wide boulevards.
Elétricos (trams) clank through the streets, and blue-and-white azulejos (painted and glazed ceramic tiles) adorn churches, restaurants, and fountains.
Lisbon is a magical, friendly city and cheaper than most other European destinations. With so much to offer, it is a legendary city with more than 20 centuries of history, narrow streets, white and blue tiled buildings, old neighborhoods and Fado music coming from many restaurants making this city a great and unique place to visit

"Very charmy appartment well located in old Alfama district, with a roof terrasse as a plus."
The owner was waiting for us as we arrived, serious and nice. The apartment was like on pictures, no surprise. Location is very good. The best I appreciated was the little terrace build on the roofs, calm with a great view.
