The apartment is set on a XVIII century's building, which was recently redecorated and updated but still has some old elements that are being kept for centuries, like a stone bench, the wood windows and the balconies made of wrought iron.

It's the perfect choice for those who prefer staying in a quiet area with a true traditional neighborhood feeling, but close enough from all facilities and touristic attractions.
The morning light offer you a pleasant breakfast while enjoying a bit of sunshine on the balcony.

The area is typically Lisboeta and is safe. The prime minister house is a few blocks away and many politicians and journalists live around here.

The streets covered with cobbledstones, sparrows and blackbirds singing and sometimes parrots as well, create a beautiful atmosphere and make you forget that you are very close from the city center!

The apartment hosts comfortably 2 people but fit in maximum 4 people.
The apartment is placed on the 1st floor, with some steep steps and there is no elevator in this kind of traditional buildings. Therefore, is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility difficulties.

“Loved the Birds Apartment!”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2014

Some friends and I stayed at the Birds Apartment in July, 2014. This apartment was clean and comfortably fit four people. It is located in a darling neighborhood, close to public transportation, has wifi and is near great restaurants. You really get an authentic Lisbon experience here! We liked having a little getting ready area next to the bathroom-it allowed multiple people to get ready at the same time. The real gem of this apartment is the property manager, Joana. She went above and beyond for us on several occasions. Upon arrival, Joana gave us a list of things to do and see around Lisbon, along with restaurant recommendations. All were fabulous! By the end, we joked that if Joana didn't suggest it, we weren't doing it, because every suggestion was so great. She even recommended places to stay and things to do in other Portuguese cities. Our trip to Portugal honestly wouldn't have been the same without her!

“A peaceful and beautiful place to stay in Lisbon !”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2014

I am so happy I booked this lovely apartment. It's located on a quiet street around the corner from the lovely Praca das Flores - a tree-shaded square with a great cafe and a great restaurant as well as a pharmacy and supermarket. You can walk to many places in the historic center or easily reach the trams, buses and metro. But perhaps the best reason to book is the host, Joana. From the day I booked, she was helpful and responsive in every way. She made wonderful suggestions for restaurants and places to go and even took me to the pharmacy in the square to help me buy medicine for a sprained ankle. You couldn't ask for a nicer or more accommodating host. In addition the apartment is beautifully decorated with a nice blend of newly remodeled features and traditional charm. Quite simply, this is the perfect place to stay in Lisbon. Thank you Joana !

“Good apartment and true hospitality”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2014

Making the reservation for the apartment was efficiently organised. Joana was most cooperative and informative from beginning till end. True hospitality and a sincere wish from her for you to enjoy the apartment and Lisbon. Her list of suggestions is most useful. The apartment is well located and quiet, within Lisbon and well equipped. The photography shows you exactly what to expect. We enjoyed the apartment and Lisbon. As said, Joana played an important role in that.

“Lovely flat in Lisbon”

Reviewed 4 Jun 2014

Great location, all amenities needed were provided including towels, iron etc. Joana was so helpful in giving us tips and advice about where to go. She even booked us our taxi to the airport on the last day. The flat is cosy, a nice size for 2 or 3 people.

“Great Apartment with great location to explore Lisbon”

Reviewed 31 May 2014

It´s was a very nice stay in Lisbon. The Apartment is excellent for 3-4 persons with a perfect location to explore Lisbon. It´s possible to plan the stay very independent instead of the stay in a Hotel. You have a great equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi and everything you need for your stay. The Contact with the Owner was perfect, very kind and flexible. I can recommend the apartment to everyone who will visit Lisbon with an individual and flexible plan.

“A perfect location to experience the life of the city from inside!”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2014

Our stay by Joana’s apartment was really great. From the beginning of our exchange of emails until the day we left, Joana has been really helpful and friendly. She gave us a lot of information on what to see in the city, and several nice restaurants not too touristic. Joana also helped us out so we could bring our luggage earlier the day we arrived and we could left them the whole day before leaving to the airport. The apartment is really nice and clean. We slept very well, with no noise during the night. It is situated in a calm area. But we were also not too far from restaurants, shops, tram 28 and city center. We didn’t use a lot the kitchen as we had a perfect breakfast at a coffee place around the corner, and very nice dinners in several restaurants. I will recommend for sure to my friends and my family this apartment. And I hope to be able to come back myself to visit again Lisbon! Thank you Joana again for everything!

“Lovely apartment- great location”

Reviewed 28 Mar 2014

If you really want to experience life in Lisbon I would recommend this apartment. The area is full of small shops, parks and cafes and you hardly feel like a tourist at all. It's very central, so easy to get to all the sights. The river is also very near for relaxing walks after a day spent sightseeing in the city. Plenty of restaurants nearby, so no need to worry about cooking if you don't feel like it. The apartment itself is in one of the old Lisbon houses (steep steps!), which I thought charming, but offers all the modern amenities you need (good kitchen/bathroom, wifi, TV etc). I stayed for 10 days and it was a perfect place to enjoy Lisbon.

“Perfekt”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2013

Sweet and very helpful hostess who helped us prioritize what we should see in Lisbon when we only had 3 days available. She found a parking garage where we could park in the area. Lovely clean apartment in a perfect area down town. We would always recommend Joanna's apartment.

“Beautiful apartment in a perfect location with a delightful host”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2013

This is an absolutely beautiful and very well kept apartment in quiet yet fantastic location which is fairly central and well connected by tram and metro. There is a very tranquil square just 2 minutes walk away with a very nice café and a really excellent restaurant. The square also has a very good supermarket which sold everything we required. The apartment was a perfect size for us - 2 adults and twin boys aged 3 and a half, particularly as the sofa bed converts into a proper full size double bed, which is just as comfortable as the real thing. Joana was the absolute perfect host - very welcoming and friendly but also not at all intrusive - she went well beyond the call of duty in making this a perfect stay for us, including helping us with the logistics of getting around Portugal days after we had moved out. If we ever stay in Lisbon again we wouldn't go anywhere else - highly recommended!!
