House of 1735 (recently renovated) situated near Santa Clara and Convento das Monicas, equipped with all comfort conditions for 6 people.
It has two floors and a mezzanine: the ground floor includes one bedroom (with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom) and a cozy livingroom. The first floor includes a modern kitchen, a dining area and another bathroom. This floor also has a mezzanine with two single beds.
The house is furnished in a contemporain style but still gives the guest a time traveling feeling, either by its architectural features or by the more immediate surroundings that lets you hear the church bell, the birds in the morning and trading sessions of the oldest professions (grinder) nearby.
Internet (wi-fi) and cable tv are provided.
Despite being in the historic center, between Graça and Alfama, my apartment is located in a quiet street (with just one traffic direction) that starts in Graça viewpoint and ends just a few meters away from the Church of São Vicente de Fora, the National Pantheon and Campo de Santa Clara.
In Campo de Santa Clara is held every third Thursday and Saturday a flea market, where you can buy all kinds of antique and modern objects but usually second hand goods.
The neighborhood has significant local life, full of traditional shops, restaurants, bakeries, pastries and handicraft shops.
From here, you have easy access on foot or by transport to various points of interest to discovery Lisbon.
It's 5 minutes away from St. George's Castle and Portas do Sol viewpoint, 10 minutes walking from the Roman ruins and the (Sé) Cathedral, 15 minutes walking from Rossio, Praça da Figueira, Commerce Square and the waterfront of the Tagus River.
Is close to other historic areas like Chiado, Bairro Alto and Santa Catarina.
Area well served by transports (trams and bus); has metro, trains and boats to the south bank about 10/15 minutes away (on foot). It is located 15 minutes from the airport (by car). Very close to day and night entertainment areas, such as Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Bica, Santa Catarina Santos, Belem, Avenida 24 de Julho, Expo/Oriente.
Well served by cultural points of interest (theaters, museums, monuments, exhibitions and animation).
30 minutes from Costa da Caparica, Cascais / Estoril and Sintra.
Not suitable for a wheelchair user or if you have mobility issues (no elevator).
Consider taking a LISBOACARD (run a search for LISBOACARD on your favourite search engine) for stays longer than 1 day. Card covers entrance fee to most attractions and public transport (excluding taxis) for periods up to 72 hours.

On the highest hill of Lisbon is located the Bairro da Graça, one of the oldest and most beautiful of the capital, built on land where, by the time of the nationality constitution, was a huge olive grove. Graça saw the increase of its population after the 1755 earthquake and these new inhabitants build simple homes and also imposing palaces. During the dissolution of the religious orders Graça Neighborhood undergoes a major change, the Convent becomes Barracks, the Santa Marinha Largo Church is demolished and much of the convent lands were expropriated and sold to individuals. With the industrialization of Beato and Xabregas, Graça meets new people, this time workers who decide to live there. It starts the period of the courtyards, the working class neighborhoods and, above all, the workers' villages built with aesthetic sense and town planning criteria. Graça goes on to be a region of workers' villages such as "Vila Estrela de Ouro", built in 1908, or "Vila Berta", built between 1902 and 1908. With a curious mixture of cosmopolitanism and rurality, the area is known and sought after for its Viewpoints, where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the city. You can also find traditional and handicraft shops as well as nice restaurants and bakeries.
It's located 5 minutes walking from the 'São Jorge Castle' and the 'Portas do Sol' viewpoint.
