Ochil View offers Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Perth and St Andrews all within an hour's drive to experience a memorable Scottish holiday. For the keen golfer there are plenty of golf courses all within a 5 mile radius. Edinburgh Airport is 15 minutes drive & access to the M9 is a stone throw away. From Linlithgow train station, just 20 minutes away by train is Edinburgh, Scotland's Capital. A 30 min train journey in the opposite direction will allow you to discover Glasgow.

The house is 3 miles from Royal Burgh of Linlithgow, birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. Linlithgow has two prominent landmarks: Linlithgow Palace and Linlithgow Loch, and also famous for the Union Canal. The canal runs by the village of Philpstoun and beyond linking Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Philpstoun is a semi-rural village of Linlithgow and is where we are situated.

Ochil View is 3 bedroom semi-detached house which has magnificent view of the Ochil Hills of Stirlingshire. Accommodation offers -

Upper level – 3 bedrooms :

Bedroom1 = 1x king size bed (freestanding wardrobe –hanging & packing space). Bedroom 2 = 1x double bed (built in cupboard) – hanging and packing space). Bedroom 3 = 2x small doubles (freestanding wardrobe –hanging & packing space).

Lower level-

kitchen; bathroom; w.c. and lounge.

Kitchen is fully equipped for your self-catering needs with: Dining table with 4 chairs additional chairs can be added. Also an electric oven / gas hob, microwave, under counter fridge and freezer, and washing machine.

Family Bathroom with off the mains shower over the bath , basin & toilet. Separate W.C – toilet and hand basin

Lounge has an open working fireplace (logs supplied) with a Flat screen T.V with Sky TV. DVD Player with a selection of DVDs

The gardens are fully enclosed to keep children and pets safe. Off street parking is available for 1 car. Another car can be parked securely in front of the property in the quiet street The back garden has substantial decking to enjoy an outdoor barbecue. Recently we have added a gazebo to dine under on the decking... this allows shelter from a shower of rain.

Property is advertised as max of 6 adult guests .

Child travel cot, also a bed rail and even stair gates and high chair can be provided too..please inquire

Minimum booking is 2 NIGHTS

There is a key safe at the back door which will allow you to have independent access at all times of your stay. I will e-mail you the access code a few days before your arrival for security reasons. Arrival is from 2-00pm and departure is at 11-00 am ( however ,depending on other bookings, around your arrival & departure dates, a later departure time may be arranged--please discuss this with me.)

The West Lothian region

Philpstoun is a semi rural village of Linlithgow. There is a bus route to Edinburgh, however this would require a change over at South Queensferry. South Queensferry has plenty pubs at the water's edge and is home to the famous Forth road and railway bridges. Regular buses run to Linlithgow from Philpstoun to catch a train at the Linlithgow Train Station. Trains run in both directions to Glasgow and Edinburgh regularly. The M9 Motorway is on the edge of the village which gives access to Stirling, Perth, Glasgow & Edinburgh. Only 10 minutes from the Forth Road Bridge is the M90 which gives access to the North of Scotland and to visit St Andrews.


Locally there are many tourist attractions.

Linlithgow offers : Linlithgow Loch and Palace also visit St Michael's Parish Church. Linlithgow canal centre, Mary's Meanders, House of Binns, Annete House Museum & Beecraigs Country Park.

Plenty of golf courses to choose from ...Kingfield Golf Centre,

West Lothian Golf Course, Linlithgow Golf Course, Niddry Golf Course & Uphall Golf Course.

Visiting neighbouring Falkirk which offers The Helix & Falkirk Wheel along with many more attractions.
