Very Good

“So good we didn't want to leave!”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2015

We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous 17 days at Villa Galini. We had a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to return to this stunning villa. It is obvious that the owner has put so much care and thought into every area of the decoration and presentation and has achieved stunning results. Throughout the process, from the initial booking with the owner to the contact with the Management Company, we found everyone to be extremely professional, friendly and approachable. On arrival we were truly 'wowed'. Everything was beautifully presented and clean and there were some lovely touches like a welcome card, complimentary White Company toiletries and a great selection of food and drink. There was even a birthday card and a bottle of bubbly from the owner! The villa itself is spacious and well equipped. There's plenty of storage and the kitchen has everything you could could possibly need on holiday - there's probably more glassware and crockery than we have at home!! There was excellent wi-fi coverage throughout the villa and outside on the terrace which kept the kids happy when they weren't in the pool! The thing that really sets Villa Galini apart however is the outdoor space. The covered terrace is spacious and again beautifully furnished - perfect for relaxing in the shade, taking in the view of the bay or enjoying a drink or two in the evening. The location in Vlicha Bay is also great. It is in a quiet, yet not isolated position. It is only a 5 minute drive into Lindos but what we hadn't actually realised when booking is that there's a mini-market and a couple of bars / restaurants within just a couple of minutes walk. We enjoyed the Azurro bar at the Lindian Jewel, and they were happy to call you a taxi if you wanted to go on anywhere else. I could go on as we had such a fantastic holiday but to sum up we absolutely loved this villa and would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a special holiday rental in Rhodes.

“stunning villa, baby friendly, amazing holiday”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2015

My family and I have just come back from a fabulous stay at one of the nicest villas we have ever been to. We decided on Villa Galini given its modern and ‘boutique’ look, we were certainly not disappointed! The villa was immaculate and looked like something out of an interior design magazine - each bedroom was a great size with modern furnishings and a clean, crisp finish. The living and kitchen area is open plan and well laid out leading on to the terrace and pool area which was the best part for us; the terrace is covered by a waterproof canopy (we found this out on the last day when the heavens decided to open) allowing you to sit in comfort whilst overlooking the lovely pool and stunning sea views. The pool is a deep blue colour mimicking the sea and surrounded by a very well looked after garden with some beautiful plants and even a private seat tucked away in the corner to soak up those amazing sea views in tranquility! The villa is in a great location, just a short walk away from the mini market giving you the essentials for your stay and also some neighbouring hotels should you fancy a drink locally. As we have a 5 month old son it was important to us that the villa was child/baby friendly and again, this was certainly the case. The villa had 2 travel cots (enabling us to put one on the terrace in the shade so we could watch our son whilst relaxing on the sunbeds), a baby seat for the bath, toys and a ‘baby bouncer’ to keep our son entertained! Overall, we had a lovely stay and felt very safe and well looked after (even the bathrooms had little White Company toiletries for us to use – a very nice touch!). We will definitely be returning.

“Beautiful Villa, beautiful surroundings, peaceful, tranquil holiday.”

This is a return visit to Villa Galini. An absolutely stunning villa with obviously so much love, care and attention put into it. It is like home from home. The living accommodation is tastefully chosen and very comfortable. The kitchen has all the equipment and utensils you could wish for. The 'new' shower room is really nice and can see the improvement since our last visit. The outdoor living area is just perfect and the new wall separating the villa next door just gives you the feeling of privacy and being in your own little haven. The garden is as ever well thought out and looked after and the seat at the bottom of the garden is brilliant, especially in the morning with a cup of tea or late evening with a cold drink, just to sit and take in the surrounding views and atmosphere of the bay just below. There was a lovely welcome pack on our arrival with all the essentials needed before having to go off and do a shop. The meet and greet from the Management company on our arrival was really nice, very professional, friendly and happy to assist to ensure all our needs and wants were met. Also a quick check-in prior to our departure was nice, just to ask that everything had been OK and check there had been no problems encountered during out stay. The supermarket two minutes walk away at the bottom of the hill is great for essentials and the bigger supermarket, at the top of the hill before turning into the road down to the bay is great for a 'weekly' shop if you so wish. There is also a new Carrefour in Lardos, just five minutes away in the car, for that extra choice. It's so nice to come back to the villa after a day sight seeing and either just dip in the pool, relax in the outdoor living area, or go down to the bar, two minutes walk down the hill, for a cold beer and watch the world go by in the bay. You can then either have a meal in the local taverna, the restaurant within the hotel next door to the villa, so to speak, or just go back and put the BBQ on. Plenty of choice or even take a taxi into Lindos and have a meal in many of the eating establishments within those lovely 'cobbled alleyways'. We would highly recommend this villa, which is obviously loved not only by the owner, but also the guests who holiday there, which is obvious by the way the decoration, condition and cleanliness is presented on arrival and throughout the vacation. Love it and hope to return again.

“Beautiful Villa and gardens with Stunning Sea Views”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2013

Newbery & Riley Family, September 2013 My family and I stayed at Villa Galini for almost all of September 2013 and had a superb holiday, thanks mainly to the villa being so wonderful. Russell, the Owner has thought of every attention to detail throughout the whole villa - you didn't want for anything and there were lovely touches everywhere, pictures, mirrors, vases, flowers. Every morning we woke up to beautiful views of the sea and would sit out on the balconies of the 2 bedrooms upstairs drinking freshly brewed coffee. The outside area of Villa Galini was even more special. Russell has completely landscaped the area with decking and tiling around the pool, raised beds and lots of pots with planting. The dining and sitting areas were lovely - well used and light relief from the sun or when we weren't in the pool swimming or playing with the children. Then at night ...... the lighting came on all around the outside area and was very romantic as well ! There are candles everywhere outside that you can light up. It really is as all the pictures indicate and on arrival we had no negative surprises at all (as sometimes holiday villas or hotel photos aren't true to form!) The Lindian Jewel Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the villa and great to stop and have a coffee or glass of wine. The bar food is good and so is the restaurant upstairs with the most beautiful panoramic views of the Agean Sea. There are a couple of grocery shops again, just a few minutes walk from the villa to get basics. A supermarket is only a couple of minutes in the car on the main road. There are also within 5-10 minutes walk 3 other hotels to go and have a drink. Lindos is amazing with its never-ending alleyways full of great restaurants and shops, and the Acropolis an absolute 'must see'. It is 5 minutes in the car, however, we never walked it because the roads onto the main road into Lindos are quite steep and we reckoned it would be a good hour or so to walk it. A car is essential unless you just want to chill by the pool or the beach. Would recommend M&S Cars - they pick you up from the airport, your hire car is waiting for you at the villa when you get here and they also take you back to the Airport at the end of the holiday. Lovely husband and wife team who are in Haraki (great beach village to explore). Rodos Town is beautiful, a 45 minute drive and well worth it. We went several times as you just don't tire of it. Also recommend a trip to Marmaris in Turkey - just a hour on the Catamaran from Rodos Port. There are lots of quaint and lovely villages and beaches all around so well worth having a car to explore. Russell has lots of information and maps to guide you around the island. Fabulous villa, island and friendly people. Happy Holidays!

“Exceptional Villa, everything thought of with first class service”

We booked this villa for 17 days, so were hoping it would be as good as advertised and rated in other reviews ... it was even better. Everything had been thought of from a welcome pack of essentials, every kitchen appliance you could ever want and an exceptional outdoor dining / BBQ area. The villa was so relaxing ..... and with a parasol next to the pool and with Test Match Special playing on the iPad whilst cooling off .... it was top notch! The views are amazing, the kids had plenty to keep them occupied and any questions to the owner were answered almost immediately. Highly recommended, and the local supermarket (2 min drive) was about as close to Sainsburys as you'll find in Greece I think ...... great meats that made the BBQ's a feast. Limited nightlife in the immediate vicinity, but Lindos only 6-7 mins away in a cab and loads going on there ..... all in all, fantastic holiday.

“A fabulous getaway that we just "fell into" the moment we arrived.”

Reviewed 30 May 2013

Villa Galini had everything that we required, fabulous furnishings, fully equipped kitchen (way beyond the standard knife & pan set we usually experience) and an outside area to die for. The view from the balcony is stunning. I travelled with my husband and two children. He loved the pool and outside seating area, which offers shade when you need it. We felt relaxed knowing that the children could be outside without being able to leave the garden/pool area. Having youngish children meant we didn't eat out in the evenings as many do. However, our evenings were filled with the wide selection of music, DVDs and games offered. The Villa is kept to an exceptionally high standard and is clearly a home that is cared for by it's owner. In fact, that's exactly the feeling you get "home from home", with extras. Quotes from my family : Daughter (9 yrs) on arrival - "seriously, we're staying here" Husband (man of few words) - "great pool, fab pad" Son (10 yrs) - "cool" Me - "out of this world" The beach is literally 4 minutes away and is as blue as the sky, with a conveniently located shop with extremely tasty Danishes and ice cream. For anyone contemplating a visit, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

We booked to stay at villa Galini for our wedding. Our group consisted of myself And my wife, my best man and his wife (one of our bridesmaids) their 11 month old son, another bridesmaid and her partner. As soon as you begin to deal with russ the owner you recognise his attention to detail. He is friendly ad helpful and provides some nice little touches prior to your stay, personalised post cards and luggage tags sent 4weeks and 2 weeks before you travel. It's a nice touch and builds your excitement for your trip . As we were in lindos for our wedding we decided to spend the first three days in lindos itself to be on hand for any meetings with he wedding planners or venues. we stayed in traditional lindian accommodation. This was a busy few days for us with family arriving on the island and jobs to do. On the 1st September we moved to vlicha bay and to villa Galini. We arrived at the villa in the blistering heat to find we were a little early, the two very friendly ladies preparing the villa welcomed us and allowed us to leave our luggage while they finished. Our first impression as we arrived was stunned silence. What a place. Russ has obviously spent a lot of time and money making this villa what it is. It's spectacularly clean, modern, comfortable, and very stylishly finished. He has taken what was a nice villa and turned it into a beautiful holiday home not only for himself but also the guests who stay there. As you explore you find more details and personal touches. For us we had two cards, one for all of the guests staying wishing us a good time, and also a wedding card congratulating us in advance. Chilled water, fruit, and enough essentials in the fridge to allow us to relax immediately. There was also a nice bottle of champagne for myself and my wife to help us celebrate our wedding. The first thing you notice on arrival is the terrace. Two large glazed doors lead from the living area outside to a large covered dining area and seating area. Once again the owners attention to detail prevails. Stylishly furnished and beautifully presented you immediately feel privileged to be staying in such a place. Beyond the covered area lies the pool and sun deck and the view!. Sun loungers presented with luxurious pool towels, the dark blue pool that seems to match the blue of the sea, the incredibly well maintained garden makes you smile, and you find it hard to stop. Upon every closer look there is something else to make you smile. Back inside the villa the kitchen is well equipped for cooking and again very well presented. A large fridge, allowing you to store enough food and drink for seven comfortably. And good hob and oven mean that any meal can be prepared. Plenty of glasses, plates and utensils etc. Off the living area is the smallest of the three bedrooms,a good sized double with doors leading out on to the outside seating area. Very well presented and very comfortable. Next to the staircase is the downstairs shower room. Again, beautifully presented, like a shower room at an exclusive hotel. Its one of those showers you dont want to get out of!!. Under the stairs is the washing machine and cleaning products and plenty of storage for cases etc. Upstairs there are two large double rooms, immaculately presented with large wardrobes and expensive bed linen and cushions. Each with a dressing table and full length mirrors, the master bedroom wardrobe contains the safe. Each of the upstairs bedrooms have a balcony overlooking the pool and the bay beyond. Off the landing area is a good sized bathroom with bath and shower, loads of storage, and again beautifully finished. That's the layout. But the reality of staying here is much more than details and furnishings. After the first day you become used to your surroundings and you realise that the nice furniture and luxuries on offer are much more than superficial touches to look good on website photos. These details and luxuries allow (in our case) six adults and one child the comfort, convenience and space to enjoy a holiday without feeling like you have to compromise. You can relax and have fun from the second you arrive. Some of our best days were spent relaxing around the pool with drinks, music, and nice food. These are days I will never forget. The pool is very well maintained throughout your stay and is always clean. Location. Not a problem for us as we are all reasonably fit but there is a bit of a hill to get to the villa. It can be tricky during the hottest part of the day, but I don't think it takes anything away from staying here. There are villas further up this hillside and I have to say I wouldn't have fancied that walk. Villa galini definitely occupies the prime spot on this hillside. One tip, if getting a taxi back from lindos or a trip out ask to be taken to the lindian jewel and when you get there ask the driver to carry on up the hill. You can be dropped at the front door of the villa. There is also a parking space if you hire a car. Down the hill slightly you have the lindian jewel hotel, the reception staff are helpful if you want to book a taxi from here. They have a restaurant but we didn't eat here. Slightly further down is a bar, nice cocktails and really good basics in food at a reasonable price. Slightly further down you reach the beach. We have stayed in this bay before so knew what to expect of the beach but its worth noting if you haven't been here before that the beach is predominately pebbled. Its a ni e beach though, and sunrise on the beach is incredible. The water is warm, calm, clear and safe. Great for afternoon swimming or a bit of water sports, the water sport centre is in the centre of the beach and can't be missed. A good choice on offer too. Set back from the beach is another hotel with a restaurant and bar. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is affordable and good, but in my opinion it's not the cleanest of places. Next to the bar is the mini market. It provides all the basics you could want and is very well priced. There are more extensive markets in lindos or kalathos nearby for other ingredients. On the beach and further along the road are a couple of other bars some on the beach itself and a car hire place. It's a quiet location but we loved that about it. Towards the end of our stay the other people we were staying with at the villa left for home and myself and my wife had three nights at the villa on our own. The tranquility of the place is something I will never forget. The villa is ideal for a group of six, with the space and freedom that everyone can do their own thing, And then spend time all together having fun, but it works for a couple too. After 10 days of meeting up with family and running around making arrangements the three days we had at the villa on our own was heaven. We've been back a little over two months now and I can honestly say there hasn't been a day go by that I haven't wished we were back at the villa. We've stayed in some beautiful locations and hotels all over the world, but this was quite simply the best holiday we have ever had, obviously our wedding was a big part of this but villa Galini was the perfect place to stay to enjoy it. I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to stay at the villa again. A big thank you to russ and all in Greece who looked after us at the villa, your efforts made our stay, and our wedding unforgettable.

“Great attention to detail!”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2012

We arrived to find some essentials in the fridge, and a welcome card, a wedding card and a sparkling bottle of wine as a gift. (A lovely surprise and very thoughtful!) Villa Galini, is a beautiful and spacious villa which was tastefully decorated and contained everything you could ever need. All the bedrooms were equipped with hairdryers and had more than enough coat hangers! (unusual in my experience) The kitchen was full size and had every gadget going - made self catering an enjoyable experience. The outside area was also beautifully decorated and its the attention to detail that makes this villa so special - we are glad we chose it for our honeymoon as it provided some beautiful photographs on our wedding day! The pool and garden area have been beautifully landscaped and add to the view as you sip your wine from the veranda on an evening. The villa is set back up the hillside and is peaceful without being too secluded from local amenities. At the bottom of the road is a hotel (The Lindian Jewel) which does lovely cocktails and we cheekily used them to phone taxis from to get into Lindos, although since we had our wedding reception there, they were more than happy to help. Beyond that is a restaurant, where we often had breakfast after a heavy night out and next door is a small supermarket. If you happen to have a car, there is a large supermarket on the main road, just before you turn off for Vlicha Bay. The beach is also close by, at the bottom in front of the hotel. All in all a great villa which is away from the tourists and busyness of Lindos, but close enough to visit (about 8 - 10 euros in a taxi each way) Thank you Vill Galini for making our Wedding and holiday so special!

A location not to be missed, and I am talking about the Villa house not only about Vlicha Bay! Anything you need, you will find in the house, from cooking stuff to recreation magazines, mouvies, toys. Excellent the interior design of the Villa, furniture and object of very good quality. It is like a 5 star boutique hotel! The view is wonderfull, the beach is 5 minutes walking distance. The swimming pool is perfect, and you can spend all day outside the house, on the terrace. A place to come back every year, at leas 7 days per year!

Our family of 5 adults and one child have just returned from the beautiful Villa Galini, and we all cant wait to get back! Really well located with great views of Vliha beach and the local supermarket and bar just down the hill. The villa itself is very tastefully decorated to a high standard, the kitchen facilities are excellent for barbeques around the pool and outside dining area, where we spent many an evening watching the lovely sunsets over the hills and bedrooms with air con and modern decor were spacious and had hairdryers too! The pool and garden area are very well kept and cleaned regularly.Villa Galini excelled our expectations and the owner couldnt have been more co-operative with every aspect of our stay. First class!
