Description

This is an idyllic rural limestone cottage in grounds of a lodge to Burton Hall, close to the historic cathedral city of Lincoln. Set in 1.8 acres of mature woodland grounds. Wood-burning stove and seasoned logs are included. It is situated in the grounds of, and completely separate from, Dunster Lodge, which was built in 1868 as a lodge for Burton Hall. All buildings including the cottage are Grade 2* listed.

The cottage is fully equipped with a modern kitchen and appliances (including washer, dishwasher, four ring gas hob, built-under electric oven and extractor fan), set at one end of the living area. There are plenty of pots and pans, utensils and crockery. Coffee making equipment includes Nespresso machine (with a few capsules!), and cafetière and Mocha express machines.

There is a drop-leaf table and four folding chairs in addition to two other wooden dining chairs. The other part of the living area has comfortable seating, television and DVD player and wood-burning

There is a drop-leaf table and four folding chairs in addition to two other wooden dining chairs. The other part of the living area has comfortable seating, television and DVD player and wood-burning stove, including plentiful seasoned logs, including apple.

In addition to a comfortable double bedroom (Note: the bed is 4 feet wide), there is a "corridor" bedroom with a single bed. Modern shower-room with WC and wash basin, heated towel rail and additional wall heater.

Heating is by wood-burning stove (seasoned logs included) and each room has independent thermostatic electric wall heaters. Hot water via immersion heater. No additional charge for electricity. Unfortunately. internet access is slow - as it is to the whole village - but the wifi works well throughout the cottage!

Wednesday check-in may not be possible, although Wednesdays can be included in the stay!
