Description

Maison du Pont is set in the centre of Limoux, a short stroll over the stone bridge to the square, with its sparkling waters, pretty lights and tubs of flowers. The town is very welcoming and loves its visitors throughout the year, while I'm here to ensure you relax in comfort.

Les Coquelicots is a spacious suite for 4 adults with a sitting room, comfy sofa and chairs, a radio/CD/MP3 player and loads of books, CDs and games. There is a large double bedroom with lovely views of the river and hillside, and a twin bedded room leading off from the main bedroom. The spacious bathroom has a bath, basin and toilet, and a separate shower room for an amazing rain and hand held shower experience.

Enjoy breakfast with a stunning view over the river and Pont Neuf, and I'll be here with hot coffee and fresh croissants, to help with plans for the day or just have a friendly chat. Not forgetting my adorable Yorkshire terrier Bertie, who loves making new friends, so we look forward to meeting

Location description from owner

The Languedoc-Roussillon region

The Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, close to Spain and the Pyrénées, is warm in summer, with crisp, cold winters, and sunshine for most of the year. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with its vineyards, local walks, rivers and waterfalls, and spectacular mountain views. There are many outdoor activities throughout the year, including cycles and kayaks to hire, horse riding, trips on the Canal du Midi, wonderful local speciality foods to sample and of course the sparkling Blanquette de Limoux.

Limoux

A few days in Limoux gives you the opportunity to visit La Cité at Carcassonne, and enjoy the countryside, take leisurely walks or hikes with views of the Pyrénées, best seen from one of the many Cathar castles in the area. There are lovely lakes and riversides for picnics, as well as plenty of outdoor activities. Limoux has a kayaking centre and three beautiful outdoor swimming pools open in July and August, just 10 minutes walk from here along the riverside.

Organise days out, hire bicycles, and explore nature at its best, with tumbling rivers and waterfalls, woodlands, grassy paths with thyme and rosemary underfoot... and wild flowers, birds and butterflies.

“Great place to stay in SW France”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2016

Limoux is a large village on the river Aude. It has a village square with shops bars and restaurants, night market, and music ( at least while we were there). The accommodation is excellent as is the host, Susan. Limoux is a central place from which to explore the region as we did, or stay in the local area and relax.

Thanks Mark, it was a pleasure to have you and Donna to stay, especially with the glorious sunshine that week!

“Excellent appartment, position and region”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2011

We enjoyed staying at this clean, comfortable, well-equipped appartment in Limoux. The position is perfect with a large balcony overlooking the river to dine on or watch people pass over the bridge - very relaxing. We were particularly amused in the mornings by the chatty ducks! And it was so easy to stroll the few metres over the bridge to the centre of such a pleasant town. When we could manage to tear ourselves away, we found the surrounding area delightful with plenty of things to do and see - walking or running the vineyard paths around LImoux, Carcasonne, Homps on the Canal du Midi, the Aude valley, over the Pyrenees (spectacular) and, of course, sampling the local cuisine.

A visit to the Languedoc will always live up to your expectations... an exciting journey into the past with all the comforts of today.
