Description

Apartment 2 is situated on the first floor (upstairs) in our traditional Austrian house. The area could not be more stunning, with the mountains providing a backdrop for any outdoor activity that takes your fancy. In Winter, skiing, cross-country skiing, walking, snow-shoeing and sledging are all available in the local area.

In summer you could walk, run, climb or mountain bike. If this all seems too much, then just relax in the wonderful Alpenbad swimming baths (free entry included in summer bookings) or enjoy our fantastic restaurants and alpine huts. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants within a 5 minute walk but if you don't fancy it, then you could always snuggle up on the huge corner sofa and watch telly or a DVD (player provided).

New for 2018 is our cosy BBQ hut. Perfect for families and groups, our Scandinavian grill hut is available for use by all our guests. Just let us know when you would like to reserve it.

Getting around

Like most country areas, you will have more flexibility with a car, especially with small children. That said, there are loads of lovely walks on the doorstep as well as a supermarket and restaurants. The buses are very reliable but not too frequent (e.g. to Seefeld: one every one-two hours). If you'll be using the bus, please ask us to add a bus pass to your guest card (12 € per stay, adults free)

We live in the same house, so should be there to greet you. If we are going to be away, we'll let you know beforehand. If we are out when you arrive, there is a key safe with your key. The code is 4325. The apartment is upstairs on the left.

“Happy stay”

My family and I stayed in the 2nd floor apartment for the best part of a fortnight in August 2018. The accommodation was excellent and very well equipped. The rooms are all a good size for a family of 4 and we never felt we were on top of each other. Emily and Stephen were excellent and helpful hosts and gave provided a great holiday home at a very reasonable price in a beautiful part of Austria. Very handy for Seefeld if you want to take a train to Germany or Innsbruck but try to find a cheap parking place if driving to the station. Parking prices in Seefeld can be Eye watering if you're out for the day. So, great accommodation, lovely location and thoroughly recommended.

We stayed in Happy Mountains with our 2 children and we all simply loved it. Our host Emily was extremely friendly , helpful and flexible. The appartment was well equiped and perfectly located. A good supermarket, restaurants and shops are nearby, very nice hiking trails - suiting any levels from easy to tough - are easily accessible. A big plus for the kids was the free entrance to the superb swimming pool in Leutasch provided with Emily's package - we used it twice in seven days. Leutasch as a destination is simply fantastic. It is peaceful and picturesque, with lush green fields and lovely mountains. We are definitely coming back to Leutasch and Happy Mountains.

Happy mountains porte bien son nom. Leutasch est un coin de Paradis où règne calme, beauté des paysages et multitudes d'activités. Un endroit parfait pour passer des vacances avec des enfants. L'appartement joliment décoré et bien équipé est très agréable et bien situé. Son point le plus fort est la gentillesse et l'accueil de ses propiétaires. Merci encore pour ses merveilleuses vacances à Leutasch et , c'est sur, nous reviendrons!!!!

My partner and I booked this for 5 days so that my sister and nephew (8 years old) could join us to do some skiing. It worked really well, there is plenty of room in the apartment and we were all very comfortable. We drove into Seefled most days to ski as the snow was a bit thin on the ground due to the warm weather. Seefeld is a great place for beginners and there are several other resorts within easy driving distance for a change of scene. We would certainly consider Happy Mountains again for another holiday.

This was just what we needed. We were fed up with cramped ski apartments and this huge, light, airy and spacious apartment was great. The whole apartment has been recently refurbished to a very good standard and it's well equipped. The thermal and sound insulation make this very warm and peaceful. In fact we mostly didn't need the heating on and often left windows open overnight for a nice warm night combined with great fresh air. The mountain views from the large lounge window are lovely too. The owner was unbelievably helpful, bending over backwards to answer our questions and provide leaflets, both before and during our stay. The nearby supermarket (closed Sun) is big, well stocked with absolutely everything you'd need and much much cheaper than we were expecting. Beer was especially cheap and good. Fresh veg is a bit thin on the ground though. The man who delivers bread daily (not Sun) to your door is great to. Just leave a sign out at night with your order and It's there before you get up. We went to a couple of the restaurants in Leutasch. Food's good, prices are reasonable, much cheaper than French resorts and service much better. We were there for alpine (downhill) skiing and although it took a bit of planning, we didn't need a car to either get there or to go skiing daily to Seefeld. The bus stop for the 4184 or 4186 buses to Seefeld and the two ski areas are a 5 min walk away. They are very prompt and reliable, but are only every hour or so. The times work well for the start and end of ski school, which is at Rosshutte (larger ski area). Just be sure which bus you want to get onto at the end of the day and ask the driver, as they arn't very clear and the same route number goes to three diff places. The 2 hr train journey from Munich was easy, with trains every 10 mins from the airport to the centre and then every hour to Mittenwald about 5 miles away. For some of them you need to change at Garmish but journey time is the same. For the direct ones, be careful to get on the front half of the train, as it splits in Garmish. Mittenwald in on the border, but still in Germany. The Bayern ticket can be bought and printed online www.bahn.de beforehand and is €23 for a day pass, plus €4 per extra adult family member. So a family's day pass is only €27 ! We then got a taxi to the apartment from the taxi rank outside at €25 but there is also the 4186 bus, five times a day www.vt.at €2 each, which would drop you an easy 5 mins walk away. We returned via Innsbruck which was even easier. The train from Seefeld (the same train that comes from Munich and stops at Mittenwald), is every hour and takes half an hour to Innsbruck centre €13 family ticket. The views en-route are simply stunning. We left all our luggage in the cheap lockers at Innsbruck station and had a great few hours looking around. Then it's a 16 min bus ride on route F, four times an hour out to the airport €5. I would recommend this apartment for anyone skiing in Seefeld. Without a car I recommend hiring your skis and storage (€25ea per week) from Sailer Sport, which is at the bottom of the Rosshutte, next to the bus droop off and ski school meeting point. It's not the cheapest but is most convenient. We'll be going again.

My (adult) son & i visited Weidach on a cycling holiday. The area is great with lots of different things to do. The owners were most helpful with suggestions of rides and things to-do. the road riding and mountain biking were fantastic within the environs of the apartment. We also walked to a mountain hut for lunch. Great weather. The apartment has everything we needed for a comfortable stay - we only cooked once - the local restaurants tempted us too often (weidachstube is superb!). The free wifi proved very useful for planning purposes and the owners let us use the garage to store the bikes. I would unconditionally recommend this apartment/area.

The LEUTASCH area is totally unspoiled 7 the apartment (Happy Mountains) in WEIDACH was very comfortable. Our hostess, Emily was welcoming & very helpful. All possible amenities were included. Excellent supermarket 5 mins walk away & a great choice of restaurants in the village & the surroundidng area. The scenery is stupendous, with a bewildering choice of walks of all standards of ease, or difficulty.

Siamo una famiglia composta da 2 adulti e 2 bambini di 5 e 2 anni. L'appartamento è pulito e spazioso, ben soleggiato. Le camere da letto hanno spazi generosi ed i letti sono comodi. Per il bambino più piccolo c'erano in dotazione il lettino con le sponde, il seggiolone e la vaschetta da inserire nella doccia per il bagnetto. Inoltre in cucina si possono trovare i piattini di plastica e le posate adatte ai più piccoli. La zona giorno è generosa e c’è molto spazio in cui i bambini possono giocare. L’arredamento è nuovo e completo (sarebbe utile un mobile dispensa in cucina o in soggiorno per mettere la spesa alimentare). L’appartamento è in posizione strategica: in 5 minuti a piedi si raggiunge il centro del paese con tutte le comodità (supermercato, parco giochi, fermata dell’autobus, banca, negozi di souvenir, noleggio bici, ect…) La proprietaria Emily è sempre gentile e disponibile a qualsiasi richiesta. Sicuramente un posto da consigliare a tutti.

What more could you ask for ? The owners are very friendly, helpful and keep a very clean apartment with everything that was needed. This was my second stay and still I did not have enough time to see and go to all around, watch this space am back in October . Plenty of walking paths and nearby places to visit, am recommending it to my friends and can not wait for my next visit. Thanks Steve and Emily for making it a great time Mike
