Description from owner

Description

Soleil sleeps 6 adults and two children (under 12 years) plus cot.

The cottage has 3 bathrooms and 4 toilets making it perfect for family or friends.

A great deal of care and attention was given when renovating this spacious barn, we have exposed magnificent beams and the original wine press and stone flagged floor in the kitchen.

The semi-circular fully fitted kitchen is fitted with everything you need including a double oven plus grill and 8 burner gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine double oven / hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc.

We have also retained the original wine press and stone flagged floor, where the footprints of former wine makers, of these superb Loire Valley wines, can still be seen.

The spacious lounge is extremely comfortable and attractively furnished; there is UK satellite T.V. video, IPod dock, DVD and HiFi. There are also books and games for all ages. The beautifully decorated dining area has French doors.

The cloakroom in the entrance hall makes the cottage perfect for family living. French doors lead to your private patio, with table, chairs; stone built BBQ, flowering tubs, olive and laurel trees.

Three double bedrooms, one of which is a family room with double bed and bunk beds, two of the rooms are en-suite and the third family bathroom is next to the third double room. All of the bedrooms have double beds with sprung mattresses. Views of the vineyard from the family bedroom are lovely.

When building the staircase, we used reclaimed oak beams and quarry tiles which we found buried in the gardens!! We have endeavoured to retain the charm and character of this old wine making barn, the original beams throughout lend to the history and charm. We endeavour to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. A no smoking and no pets policy applies. We achieve a child friendly and baby friendly environment. Ask for further details about our traveling with tots and toddler's. Evening meals are available on selected evenings. Cycles available Cot, highchair, pushchair and other baby and toddler equipment is available free of charge. FREE WIFI

Location description from owner

The Pays de la Loire region

Known as the Garden of France this area is glorious. It is also noteworthy for the quality of its architectural heritage, in its historic towns such as Amboise, Angers, Blois, Chinon, Nantes, Orléans, Saumur, and Tours, but in particular for its world-famous Châteaux, such as Amboise, Chambord, Villandry and Chenonceau and more particularly its many cultural monuments, which illustrate to an exceptional degree the ideals of the Renaissance. On December 2, 2000, UNESCO added the central part of the Loire River valley, between Maine and Sully-sur-Loire, to its list of World Heritage Sites Warm summers and balmy evenings are an apt description of the weather in the Loire. Mild spring weather brings out the buds on the trees and spring flowering bulbs much earlier than in the UK. Autumn is glorious with evenings often still warm enough to BBQ.

Les Verchers Sur Layon

There are numerous attractions in the area, apart from the many Chateaux, the zoo at Doue la Fontaine, just 4 minutes away, is world famous for its conservation policy. The world renowned Cadre Noir is based in Samur and apart from its frequent shows, there are weekly demonstrations that are open to the public For the more adventurous Puy du Fou, Futurscope and several adventure parks are all within easy driving distance. The rose garden in Doue la Fontaine has hundreds of astounding roses on display and makes for a wonderful day out wandering around the rose gardens enjoying the scents and visions of these fabulous roses Local villages hold events throughout the year and frequent wine festivals and open days at vintner's make this an ideal area to visit. Golf, horse riding, tennis, water sports, go karting, bird watching, cycling and walking are all easily available.
