Description

Charming bijou apartment sleeps six, but you do need to be good friends, on the ground floor with direct access to the slopes. Within 50m there are Evolution and ESF Ski schools and meeting points for lessons, crèche and childcare, the six man fast lift out of the village and the beginners bubble to the beginners area.

There also is a children's safe toboggan area and separate snow play area and play area, shops, restaurants, bars, take away with delivery service, tourist information office, emergency doctor, animation area, laundry, hairdressers and cinema. This whole area to the front of the apartment and to the shops is pedestrians only.

The apartment is cleverly designed to create three separate sleeping areas. Double bedroom, twin beds in the lounge area and a further double bed adapted from the dining table and bench chairs. All rooms have storage for personal items and there are drawers shelves baskets and baggage stows throughout the apartment.

During the day the wooden sliding doors between the lounge and the dining area can be opened up to create one larger living area with comfortable seating and TV DVD player, CD player, games, toys,books and cards. The lounge leads to the south facing terrace which is equipped with out door furniture for al fresco dining. The terrace leads to the shared garden with direct access to the ski area (snow permitting you can ski down to the terrace) the terrace is a great space to leave skis when returning to the apartment with children. In the summer the terrace leads directly onto the shared garden area a great area for sunbathing or for children to play.

The kitchen although tiny is very well equipped including a full size dishwasher. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, a large basin, plenty of storage and drying space and even an Iron and ironing board. There is a separate WC.

We have a lockable ski store within a heated and locked ski room. There is free parking directly outside the apartment building.

Les Coches is a typical French ski resort . In the evening in the village square there are complimentary wine tastings, hot chocolate, vin chaud, local food tastings regularly organised. Children are well catered for with lots of children's activities and a whole animation programme that is different every week. In the summer months of July and August the village again puts on a whole host of activities for children and adults alike with organised walks mounting biking, rafting, kayaking, adventure and adrenalin sports and a comprehensive range of children's activities including circus activities and sleeping in wigwams to name but a few.

We try to be flexible about changeover days and will try to accommodate any requests we encourage weekend only, midweek breaks and holidays of 7, 10,11 and 14 days. Please just enquire and we will individually price to your requirements.

A non refundable deposit of £150 is required to secure dates. You can choose to take your own linens and clean the apartment after your stay and we will adjust the price accordingly. If you elect this option a cleaning deposit of £100 is required in addition which is returned to you when the apartment has been checked to ensure it is left in a clean, tidy and undamaged state and the keys have been safely returned to us. We also require a signed booking form to be completed and returned if possible via e mail.

We, the owners are three ski/boarding mad and country pursuits mad couples who have owned the apartment for eight years with our diverse children. Les Coches is a pretty Savoie village with a village square at its heart and the apartment is within a typical Savoyard building adjacent to this square. The apartment has views of the mountain and piste and is south facing. There are two lifts and being on the ground floor the apartment is particularly pram friendly. (tested)

Summer activities available locally include paragliding, kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, organised walks, horse riding, golf and swimming pool. Most years a children's circus hosts lots of courses in circus based pursuits.

Les Coches is a mountain village in the Savoie area of the French Alps. In winter it is a ski paradise with the 2nd largest ski area in the world the paradiski area has 825km of piste and some of the best off piste in Europe (Sunday Times 2006)

In summer the area is a paradise for walkers, climbers outdoor pursuits enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies with horse riding, paragliding, kayaking, rafting, canyoning golf and much more.

“Very homely, superb location!!”

This apartment is ideally located for easy access to ski lifts and Ski School. It's ground floor location means it's so easy to just step outside to where the lift is, just a few minutes walk away. It also means it 's easy to fetch fresh bread and cakes every morning from the superb bakery in this little, but will catered for village! I would happily recommend this apartment for a group of friends or a family, it is quite small, but excellent use of space is made, which makes for a more than comfortable stay. It is very well equipped too, it has a dishwasher and a microwave which looked like new!!

The week before Christmas, first week of the slopes being open and snow at the top was great, the team on the piste had a tough job but kept it skiable against the odds! The apartment, small but perfect, great location, great storage, great facilities and we would certainly come again! There was four us - two adults and two children and it was more than comfortable staying in this apartment with numerous different sleeping arrangements. We will be back

Have stayed at 15 la traverse on many occasions with many differing party sizes and it always delivers.it is an easy drive from the airport with really good directions and lots of information to make your holiday enjoyable. The apartment Is always immaculate and extremely well equipped with lots of little touches that make yur stay comfortable. It is in a perfect location...being literally metres from the lift, ski hire shops,lift pass office, bread shop and restaurants. Good secure storage for equipment in the building and direct access to the slopes from the apartment. We stayed last year with 3 teenagers..usually a recipe for disaster in the most spacious accommodation and we had a ball. It was a real treat to cosy up and watch a DVD together something we don't get to do very often..if ever!! Looking forward to visiting later this year...I know I won't be disappointed and will be able to enjoy the fantastic skiing available with just the occasional vin chaud and hot chocolate !!!

We have just spent a week in this great little apartment.....we had great info from the owner that enabled us to thoroughly plan our holiday....great advice especially to shop on the way up to the village....the village was great and the apartment was in the best position just opposite the chair lift....very well equipped and comfortable. we followed the advice to put our little boy into the world class skiing with ESF...guaranteed English speaking instructors..... We came back to pick our little boy up and then had lunch at the apartment which worked great......there was lots organised in the village and we even used the free bus and went to visit the nearby montchavin......the skiing was fantastic......we has lots of snow and few queues. We even went ice skating which was a very reasonable 7 euros....we plan to return.

We have just returned from a fantastic week skiing in les coches . The apartment 15 la traverse was in a great location it was only 20 metres from the first chair of the morning ... 20 metres also to the local shops and bars. The apartment is very well equipped,spotless and really nicely decorated. We made good use of all the facilities in the apartment ...as we were self catering ...the owners had thought of everything...there were even hot water bottles should you need them ...I particularly liked all the nice finishing touches that made it cosy... We have stayed in many French apartments that have been old fashioned and sparse but this one was really charming. The village itself is quaint with a good variety of shops and bars/restaurants ...the skiing was fantastic with a good variety of runs for all levels ...with access to both la plagne and les arcs you would never be short of runs. We used the local esf ski school for out 7 yr old ...which met every morning just opposite the apartment again literally 20 metres away so not far for the little ones to carry their skis. At the end of the day with the amount of snow we could ski right to the door ....overall this was a great place to stay in a great location.

We stayed at this apartment for a short ski weekend in mid-April. Booking was very straightforward and Lesley the owner couldn't have been more helpful. The flat was very compact and I think would be a squeeze for more than 4 people, although clearly could sleep 6. It was very cosy and had lots of nice homely touches which were much appreciated. It was also in an almost perfect location near the ski lifts. The village was charming and had all the necessities for a very relaxed, low-key vacation. Yet at the same time linking into the vast ski areas of Les Arcs & La Plagne. A real find.

Great little apartment in the very middle of this ski resort. Les coches is a very typical French village with plenty of restaurants and quiet bars, not ideal for banging apres ski but perfect if you are looking for quiet relaxation in a perfect spot to be on the piste within a 50 second walk from the apartment. You can actually see the lift from the patio and there is a restaurant/bar directly opposite too (not noisy at all though). We sat here many an afternoon with the children playing in the snow with direct access back to the apartment. Easy to pop back to the apartment for lunch if you want to save the mountain prices, in fact the bar opposite does great food at half the price! There is a bakery for early morning bread runs local mini supermarket and deli as well as takeaways with traditional food on offer. hot baguettes in the morning were so easy to pickup with everything being within 30 seconds walk! Creche for under 3s is in the building next door but of you have older ones going into the creche for 3+ this is situated at the top of the free gondola lift. Not difficult to get to and outr three year old loved the journey every morning up on the lift. There is also a little nursery slope up there that you can use with the little ones. All in all we had a great time the apartment had everything you need it is small but suited us perfectly the dvd player was well used by adults and children alike.

Have just returned from a lovely Feb half term skiing break. The apartment was in a great location, we were able to ski in and catch a lift out within a minute's walk. We bought the Discovery lift pass which gave us a day in Les Arcs. This was more than enough as the skiing in the La Plagne area was very good, with runs for all abilities. The apartment was just right for a family of four. We liked the separate sleeping areas, and it was great for the girls not to have the usual narrow bunk beds! The apartment was well equipped and made good use of space. The chick flick dvd collection was well used by two tired teenagers most nights! We liked Les Coches itself, being friendly and relaxed with a nice atmosphere. Great vin chaud at La Poze bar next door to the apartment. We stopped in Aime on the way up to buy basic food etc. Glad we did as prices in Les Coches were higher than we expected for a lower level resort. Mountain restaurants and bars seemed surprisingly cheaper in the higher resorts. Went to Montchavin for a look around, very pretty but didn't seem as convenient for skiing as Les Coches. Cute huskies at the bottom of the gondola! We would definitely consider returning, especially for a self drive. The journey was straight forward and we parked close to the apartment.

We stayed at this apartment for a week at the beginning of 2012. We found it exactly as described and pictured. It was immaculately clean, well-located and cosy. It is within say, 10m of the ski lift, 15m of the ski shop and a bar, and say 30m of the Spar! And yet it is quiet. With the Paradiski ticket you can access other resorts such as Les Arcs and La Plagne, so there is plenty to explore. The apartment is cosy, but just right for 2 if getting along! Certainly there is a lot more space than you'd get in a hotel room. We also enjoyed the option of self-catering. A huge amount of thought has been put into equipping the apartment with things such as dvds and games, candles and cooking utensils etc. A lot of effort had also been made to provide as much storage as possible and to make the most of all available space. We found the owners very helpful and booking was easy. We would definitely recommend it. Many guests have commented favourably in the guestbook at the apartment and it is a shame that those comments have not made it onto this site.
