The modern open kitchen, large number of bathrooms, underfloor heating, open fireplace, and english speaking TV makes our beautiful chalet the ideal holiday refuge allowing that 'away from it all' feeling yet with all modern conveniences and communications at your fingertips. And although a wealth of activities are available in the family-orientated village with many free events provided by the Tourist Office, the chalet's 1140m (3/4 of a mile above sea level) location is ideal for visiting the surrounding region and absorbing countryside and visits, detailed later. Also an ideal elevation for babies and the more elderly being below the 1200m recommended altitude. Garden lawn for ball games or badminton, massive 3.8 metre trampoline with safety nets, table-tennis table, bbq, beautiful alpine walks from the chalet, what not to like? 450 metres from the village nursery slope, nearest lift (beginners' moving mat) and dedicated sledging area. The village centre is just a further 300 metres on. In winter a regular ski bus serves the chalet being 3 stops to the village and 4 to the telecabine. We have a minibus for use as back up and specific need, and we will accompany you to ski hire and to the telecabine on your first day's skiing. All services provided: creche booking, ski school booking, ski hire reserved with extreme care on boot fitting, and best suited and priced lift passes purchased and delivered in advance with discounts where possible. Operating in Les Carroz for 20 years there is probably nothing we cannot help with. Please feel free to ask for any further information. Making your holiday hassle free is our pleasure!

Location description from owner

The Grand Massif region

Les Carroz is a really pretty, authentic French mountain village situated on a sunny plateau just under 1200 metres above sea level. Part of the 4th largest interlinked ski area in France, the Grand Massif, it is one of the most snow-sure (despite its height) ski areas in Europe. This is due to its proximity to Mont Blanc which shares its weather system with the Grand Massif.

In Summer mountain trails for walking, hiking, biking and trekking are well marked, within forests and with astounding mountain views, amongst blueberry bushes, cows (with cow bells) goats, trickling summer streams, mountain lakes and stunning panoramic views; must do: the Mer de Glace glacier with its ice caves and the Aiguille du Midi lift to 3842m - Mont Blanc!

Les Carroz-d'Araches

The chalet is in a residential area and shares a drive with the chalet next door. A quiet area (but not too far from the main artery road leading to Flaine and its golf course and many other walks) children can play in the garden and in the private parking area adjoining the chalet. A small, ancient chapel with a trough next door is just 300 metres away and the main trail to Colonnaz and Flaine starts there.
