'Fantastic little cabin, cozy and clean, great location'

Our comfortable two-bedroomed lodge, Affleck, is fully equipped for up to four guests, with free WiFi, and is a perfect place for to relax and unwind. Great for family stays - with sticks to build dens with and a stream to splash and paddle in!!

Affleck Lodge offers a rural retreat; ideally situated for visiting local attractions (Loch Ness, Glen Affric,Urquhart Castle, Culloden battlefield, the Black Isle...) and for taking part in a wide range of outdoor activities, yet just a short drive away from Beauly and Inverness city shops, take-aways, restaurants and entertainment!

One well-behaved dog is welcome, by prior arrangement only - please request a quote, or use our own booking widget, if you would like to bring along your dog. Your dog's own bedding is required - we provide a rigid dog bed for sleeping in and a doggy welcome pack. Please read our advice & conditions, below and in the booking contract, for bringing your dog before you book - there is an additional charge of £25 per booking.

Affleck's lovely woodland garden, along the banks of Moniack burn, has towering Corsican and Scots pines, mature beeches and wild cherry trees - it's great for hide and seek games and wildlife spotting - Pine martens, red squirrels, badgers, woodpeckers and orange tip butterflies visit the garden regularly.You'll find yourself within strolling distance of the beautiful Reelig Glen, with its popular tall trees walk - our family's favourite local walk; our dogs love it too!

This is a perfect spot for the nature lover and, also, the ideal base for your photography holiday, with many of the most picturesque glens in the Highlands within easy reach. Holidays at Moniack is a small, friendly, family-run business - we live a short distance away, but are on hand to give a warm welcome and to share information about our favourite activities, picnic spots and walks, etc., when needed.


NOTE - Affleck's Garden: A stone dyke (low wall) & gate form the western (roadside) boundary of the garden. There are fences to the southern & northern boundaries. There is, however, no fence at the water's edge; the stream (Moniack Burn) forms the eastern boundary of the garden - therefore, supervision of children is particularly important within the woodland grounds and, especially, when close to the waterway.


The Scottish Highlands is a great place to take a dog on holiday, with so many choices for walking, especially Reelig Glen woodland walk, just on the doorstep; we are happy to welcome one well-behaved dog to stay in our lodge. A small extra charge of £25 per stay will be levied – a maximum of one dog is allowed; you must inform us if you would like to bring a dog and pay the extra charge at the time of booking.

We have had some great reviews from previous guests - most mention that our lodge was very clean and well presented upon their arrival; we'd like your help in maintaining this high standard – therefore, if you are bringing your pet on holiday, we ask you to respect these few simple, common sense requests:

• Please ensure that your dog has been properly treated for fleas, worms and kennel cough, as appropriate, before you arrive – be aware that ticks may be present in the area;

• Please bring your dog's bedding for use inside the lodge – we will provide a rigid plastic dog bed for use during your stay;

• Please keep your dog off the furniture and out of the bedrooms – your dog must sleep in the bed provided;

• Please don't leave your dog unattended in the property or garden – your dog must be kept on a lead and supervised when in the garden grounds;

• Any fouling in the lodge grounds or surrounding areas must be removed by owners immediately and disposed of in the bin provided - to ensure that future guests do not encounter dog waste, particularly children when playing in the garden grounds. We will provide poop bags for use during your stay;

• Please ensure that you have cleaned down and dried your dog following exercise, before entering the lodge; clean dog drying towels will be provided for use during your stay;

• Please clean up any residual mess and pet hairs, including in the garden, before you leave - please leave the lodge and garden grounds as you would expect to find them, with the exception of dirty linen/towels and general cleaning – no obvious signs of dog, pet hair, etc. should be present when you depart.

Some of the garden walls may be low enough in height that dogs may be able to jump or climb over them and the water-side boundary is not fenced, so dogs may be able to venture out into neighbouring gardens and the road and onto the adjacent fields which are used for sheep farming; therefore, dogs must be supervised and kept on a lead when in the garden - please observe the country code during your stay in the Scottish Highlands, especially in respect of livestock and farmland.

You are responsible for the safety of your dog and for ensuring that your dog does not cause damage to any furniture, fixtures, fittings or structures within the boundaries of the property.

Remember to bring your dog's food, bowl, collar, lead and bedding – we will provide a rigid plastic dog bed for your dog to sleep in during your stay, an outside water bowl, clean dog towels; to help you to ensure that your dog does not enter the lodge wet or muddy after exercise, poo bags and a few welcome treats!

Our local inn, the Bogroy, is not too far away at Inchmore - within easy walking distance on a cycle-path & quiet roads; bar meals & dining available.

Nearby Beauly offers shopping, historic Beauly Priory, galleries, gift shops, cafes and restaurants - there's something for everyone's tastes - Corner on the Square licensed deli & eaterie offers a range of food, with evening meals served on Fridays & Saturdays in the summer. You'll find the warmest of welcomes in Inverness, around 15 minutes' drive form here; offering city shopping, riverfront restaurants and cafes, the wonderful Eden Court Theatre, Inverness castle and museum, leisure facilities and the beautiful Ness Islands walk. Take a cruise along Telford's famous Caledonian Canal and don't forget to look for Nessie in the world famous Loch Ness.

Take a day trip to the Black Isle, just a short distance away; visit the historic port of Cromarty, with Hugh Miller's Cottage & the Cromarty Court House, and take a stroll along the beach at Rosemarkie, with its fairy glen walk. Then pop along to Chanonry point for a bit of dolphin spotting, and call into Fortrose for a fish supper on your way back.

Urquhart Castle, Culloden battlefield and Fort George are within 25 miles of here and there are fast links to the stunning west coast, lochs and hills.

If you love the outdoors; places to walk, canoe, rock climb, mountain bike and ski are all within easy reach.

GROCERY SHOPPING & SUPERMARKET HOME DELIVERY: Grocery shopping is available in Beauly, Inverness and Dingwall, where you'll find independent retail outlets and the big chains too, including Tesco & Asda. Both of these big supermarkets, and Sainsbury's in Nairn, offer home delivery to our area.
