“perfect cornish retreat for those who want countryside and peace”
warm, clean, well appointed conversion. ideal for local walks and also not far from main bus route (17) and very close to oocasional service (16)
First time in Cornwall, had a great week staying at the cottage. It's location meant we were able to visit many places - St Michaels mount, lands end, Lizard point, Minack Theatre, Eden Project etc. It had all the amenities we required and was well prepared for us - lovely and clean, and tea, coffee, milk, biscuits provided. Although a local pub served food we tended to get food from the supermarkets near Penzance on the way back from where we'd been. The garden was very well tended and it was nice to get sunchairs out of the sunhouse and relax after a trip out. The information folder in the cottage provided lot's of ideas where to go and Steve was very helpful - his suggestion to get to St Ives by train to get the view was spot on. We would definitely stay there again.
“Nice accomodation with great views”
Very pleasant & comfortable accommodation ideal for a couple. Pleasantly situated in a quiet picturesque village yet easy access to all the major sites and attractions of south Cornwall - St. Ives / Lands End / Penzance / Newlyn / Mousehole all within a few minutes drive literally.
We stayed at the Old Primary School for six nights, and apparently got some of the best weather that West Cornwall has to offer - sunny days, and still, clear nights. Ludgvan is a small village with a lovely pub, and being without a car, we were able to get to the place via train to Penzance, and #16 or 17 bus with no problems. From there, we walked footpaths down to Marazion and Penzance (on separate days), and took the bus over to St. Ives... each worth the visit, and memorably distinct experiences. The space at the Primary School is perfect for a couple, and has a usable kitchen, and underfloor heating in the restroom. The hosts were extremely helpful, and allowed us to extend our stay by 2 days, borrow their printer for boarding passes, and drove us to the train station at the end of our stay. What can you say! Amazing. I give them, and the Old Primary School, our highest marks for travelers seeking an authentic Cornish experience in comfort, and with an outstanding view of St. Michael's Mount.
“Lovely, comfortable cottage, great location.”
Accommodated us at the last minute, our 3 year old loved it and enjoyed playing in the garden! Pub in easy walking distance, St Michael's Mount and St Ives nearby. Beautiful views
“Very comfortable and very charming”
Everything was as described. We went with our 6 year old boy who loved the trampoline and the space outside the property to ride his bike. Although very small, the cottage is charming and has everything you need - would have no hesitation in returning in the future and recommending it to others.
