“Wonderful, didn't want to leave”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2015

Breakaway Lodge is a tranquil place set amongst a holiday village. Its the best of both worlds, if you want to have a base and be somewhere peaceful then you can. If you want to use the facilities of the holiday park then they are there free of charge, We did both. My daughter loved the evening Foxy Club entertainment so we used to go and have a dance over there then go back to the quiet of the Lodge afterwards. The swimming pool is a good size and we used that on a few occassions too. The Lodge itself is so clean and tidy and welcoming, the beds are comfy, our daughter was sleeping until 10am some days - worth every penny!! Everything is easy to get to from there, the shops, local attractions, St Ives itself. The only sad part is we had to come home, but good news we are booking up again for next year!

Thanks for your lovely review and we are very happy that you enjoyed your holiday at Breakaway Lodge. Can we just clarify that the facilities are not technically free of charge to everyone, as we do pay for them on our guests behalf! We look forward to seeing you again in St Ives :-)

“Perfect, tranquil location!! Spotlessly clean!! Everything you need!!”

Lovely lodge. Perfect location. Spotlessly clean and everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Can't wait to return!!

Very glad you enjoyed your stay- welcome back anytime!

“Well equipped, clean, great location, they have thought of everything!”

Small but perfectly formed! It has everything you could need, including a small first aid kit (which we thankful didn't need!) and a very well equipped kitchen - including things like dishwasher tablets, tin foil and cling film. Very clean and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail and thoughtfulness. I think it offered great value for money and the location is great too - it's easy to drive into St Ives or get the train. The onsite entertainment was much loved by our kids and the pool is nice too. The only tiny thing that could be improved is some hooks on the back of the bathroom door for towels but that really is a minor thing! If you have small children, it's worth pointing out there is a large shower but no bath - our two year old wasn't keen on having showers but she got used to it. If you wanted to bring a baby bath you could easily store it in the shower when you weren't using it. It's all on one level so no stairs to worry about with kids. Great to have the DVD player, we took our own but there are some there you can watch too. We couldn't get much mobile reception in the lodge itself but could get on to wifi in the club house. Thanks for a great holiday we will definitely be back next year!

Thanks for your positive comments and feedback - there is a double towel hook on the shower enclosure and wall hooks in both bedrooms but unfortunately we cannot fit any on the back of the doors due due limiting space. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back sometime!

“A great base to explore Cornwall from...”

Breakaway Lodge is a modern, comfortable 2 bedroom chalet in a woodland setting that has been completely re-furbished in 2014. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, well equipped and has everything you will need for a fantastic holiday in this beautiful part of Cornwall. The owners, Jules & Tom, provided excellent communication through the booking process and comprehensive pre-stay information that we found really useful. The site has a swimming pool and clubhouse that provides nightly entertainment (although we didn't use these so cant comment) and also a small supermarket, that we found very useful. Car parking is available directly outside Breakaway Lodge which was very convenient. We would recommend Breakaway Lodge without hesitation for couples and families wanting a modern, comfortable base for their Cornwall holiday.

Thanks for your comments - we'd love to welcome you back anytime!

“An excellent base- compact, very clean and well cared for.”

We had a lovely week at Breakaway Lodge. It was exceptionally clean and well presented and there were lovely touches when we arrived- tea/coffee/small bottle of wine/popcorn for boys! All very welcome. It is a small chalet, but we knew that and when you are out and about all day this is not an issue. It is ideal for exploring the area and there is a bus service from the park to St. Ives, which helps as parking in St. Ives is difficult. The bathroom was very clean and the shower lovely- could have done with a towel rail/hooks but this is very minor! Our only minor issue was that a corner sofa would have helped massively- when with 2 adults and a 14 year old (man size!) and 11 year old we found it a bit restrictive on the small 2 seaters! The information in the property is excellent and really helps with finding out about the local area. We would visit again happily.

Thanks for your comments - we are very pleased that the extra touches are appreciated and hope to see you back again!

“Relaxing, comfortable, couldnt ask for more!”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2014

The property surpassed our expectations for décor and comfort. All our needs were catered for and the property guide was very informative with lots of info on local services as well as tourist information and leaflets. We particularly liked the personal touches that the owners left such as a welcome basket and magazines. It was also nice to have a selection of books and DVDs to use during our stay. The chalet is also in a great location within the park, not too far from the clubhouse and with parking literally next to the property. We will definitely be back!

Thank you :-) We'll be very happy to see you again!
