Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Edinburgh is a vibrant city. A visit in August is a popular time to visit as Edinburgh hosts the famous fringe festival which is an ideal time to visit. Edinburgh is an ideal city break and using it as a hub you can visit the surrounding areas with ease.

From the atmospheric cobbled streets of the Old Town to the beautiful Georgian avenues of the New Town, Edinburgh is a city of contrasts blending shopping, historic attractions, gardens and plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can relax.

Step inside Edinburgh and the Lothians’ most magnificent historic houses and palaces and see the birthplace and the home of Mary Queen of Scots, the striking grand home of the Hope family at Hopetoun House and the home of one of Scotland’s oldest families.

Central Scotland/Strathclyde

Edinburgh and the Lothians is a region of important landmarks and is home to world-famous festivals.
Excellent visitor attractions, and fantastic restaurants in Scotland’s capital city make it the ideal city break.

All the castles in Edinburgh and the Lothians have a different story to tell, whether it’s about the Stone of Destiny, the difficult life of Mary Queen of Scots or one of Scotland’s most powerful families, the Crichtons.
Plus a fantastic variety of productions staged in amazing theatres. Settle down in a comfy chair and enjoy work by big companies such as Scottish Opera and the National Theatre of Scotland or see leading amateur performances.

Fascinating museums as you would expect. See T-Rex at the National Museum of Scotland, Concorde at the National Museum of Flight and Steiff Bears at the world’s only dedicated Museum of Childhood.

Edinburgh has a collection of fantastic art galleries which feature fine and modern art, portraits and contemporary work. Look out for pieces by Raphael, Monet, Picasso and other great artists from the early Renaissance to the modern day.

“Absolutely fantastic place to stay!!!!”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2016

Best place we stayed in the whole 6 weeks we were in the UK. So spacious, fantastic location, a real home away from home. Would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Edinburgh.

What a great review - wow, thanks very much Lee. It was great to meet you both and talk about Tazmanian Whisky - Many thanks again, you made my day.

“weekend away”

really good apartment- good bus links(taxi on about a £5) into princess street and walking distance to leith restaurants/bars... very quite as well. parking for two cars as well if required however wouldn't recommend a large car- just got into the underground parking with our Rav4

Many thanks - hope to have you back one day

“Perfect retreat for the week for The Fringe”

Fantastic apartment, lovely and quiet yet easily accessible to Edinburgh city either walking, bus or cab. Tesco Metro near by and Tesco also do deliveries to this apartment. Recommend having your shopping bagged for ease to take up to the apartment on 7th floor. Owner very helpful both before, during and after stay. Everything you need in the apartment with fantastic views. Will certainly go back.

Thanks for a great review, very much appreciated and hope to see you return.

“lovely place to stay”

I recently visited Edinburgh with my wife and 18 year old son, we were extremely impressed with the apartment, and it met all of our needs, and more. We were pleasantly surprised with the sky box and the DVD collection, which allowed for some quiet family time away from the city. It was suitably furnished and comfortable.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave the review - Look forward to seeing you again.

“Awesome apartment in the sunshine!!”

Reviewed 15 Jun 2015

We just had a fantastic weekend in Edinburgh and stayed in this apartment for the duration of our trip. Apartment was very well presented and very comfortable. The views from the lounge area were fantastic overlooking Leith and the shore. To the opposite side of the apartment was a large outside patio area which was ideal for when the sun was shining to chill out and enjoy the weather! The Apartment is located a short 10 minute drive from the city centre or very close to a bus stop direct to town. We walked a couple of days down to the leith waterfront for lunch and it took only about ten minutes to get to some lovely restaurants and child friendly bars. The apartment itself was very comfortable and as we had a 7 month old baby the owner provided us with a high chair to use as well which was ideal. Be aware that the access to the secure car park for the allocated apartment parking spaces is very narrow and we just squeezed in with our car. There are a lot of other spaces available for cars that won't fit so don't let this put you off. Also, there is no bath in this apartment and showers only so consider that if you have a little one but we found a shower was fine for the weekend and the little one quite enjoyed the change! All in all a great weekend in a really nice and comfortable apartment.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review - hope to see you in the future

“Perfect”

A lovely apartment with amazing views. Castle on one side, sea on the other. It is very well situated. We found we didn't need the car. We walked everywhere, and there was loads to see and do. We visited with an 11 year old a 17 year old and a Westie (Who loved going up and down in the lift and patrolling the balconies). Nobody was bored. Lovely restaurants and dog friendly pubs within walking distance. There is a good bus service from the end of the road if you don't like walking. All in all we had a great week and hope to visit again next year.

Thank toy for taking the time to review - look forward to seeing you and the family again soon

“Stunning views!”

“Lovely modern appartment with fabulous views.”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2014

We stayed here during the Ryder Cup in September and had an unforgettable 3 days in Scotland. We were contacted by the owner Craig prior to our arrival with instructions for entering the appartment and although his fridge had expired he managed to source us a replacement and a cool box at short notice!! Once inside we were blown away by the appartment. There are amazing views over the coast and the City from every room (except the 2 bathrooms!!) and despite it being September we spent a lot of time on the balconies enjoying them. We decided to have a stroll in to the City and within 15 mins were in amongst the shops and restaraunts. We found Edinburgh to be a beautiful place and were gutted that we didn't have more time to explore and enjoy the sights. However, if and when we do return we would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone. Craig was in touch with us to check that everything was to our liking and was prompt in returning our deposit and we couldn't have asked anymore from him.

Thanks for leaving this lovely review - hope to see you again
