Description from owner

Description

Our beautiful circa 17-century Grade 2 listed traditional thatched cottage has just been completely refurbished and now comes onto the lettings market for the first time. It has all the quirkiness of a building of its time with modern technology. The Blacksmiths Cottage is a two up, one down brick noggin building, formerly wattle and daub with original beams and eyebrow windows. It has been lovingly restored with an up to date open-plan kitchen/lounge which features a Belfast sink, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/ice box. The sitting area features an electric 'log burner', flat screen smart television with WiFi enabled. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with a stunning en-suite featuring a walk in shower and hair-dryer. Outside we have a charming cottage courtyard garden area with seating; there is private driveway at the cottage.Situated within walking distance to the award winning Stamford Arms pub/restaurant.This is a perfect base for visiting the beautiful Leicestershire countryside including Bradgate Park. Groby is situated about 5 miles north-west of the city of Leicester, in the county of Leicestershire, England, UK. The village has historical connections with two English Queens, Elizabeth Woodville; wife of Edward IV and Lady Jane Grey.Once a mining village with slate and granite quarries, Groby has expanded rapidly since the 1970s as it is well placed for those travelling into the city of Leicester and also ideally situated for those wanting to use the motorway network. The village facilitates include a local butcher, greengrocer, post office, public library, hardware store, newsagent and a small national supermarket.

It is requested that guests arrive before 6pm on their day of arrival, or request a late arrival time.
