Location description from owner

The England region

Peak Rise is situated in the delightful village of Longsdon near the historic market town of Leek. It is also close to many other interesting places to visit and explore. Whether you plan to walk in the Peak District, go rock climbing in the Roaches, visit Alton Towers for a fun day out, spend a day in Buxton or Bakewell, wander around Deep Hayes Country Park or the Churnet Valley Steam Railway (minutes away) or take your children to Tittersworth, you couldn't be in a better place. Contact owner for a more detailed list as there are too many places to mention.

Leek

Leek and the surrounding area has many good eating places, pubs and restaurants with a variety of different types of food including Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Italian and of course good home made local cooking. One of our favourites is the Lazy Trout which is about a 15 to 20 minutes drive away. The White Lion in Leek offers good home cooking and has a lovely beer garden in the summer. The Black Horse pub is about ten minutes away, serves food and has a band on every Saturday night. The Wheel pub is 2 minutes walk away in the village and serves food every day.

We are close to a regular bus route to the historic market town of Leek and also to the Potteries. There are also good taxi services locally.

House rules

We have furnished Peak rise to a high standard and hope all our guests will treat it as their own, with great care. We especially wish to point out the hanging lights on the stairs leading up to the master bedroom and ask that children do not touch them as they are glass, extremely delicate and will easily break. Thank you.
