Location description from owner

The Occitanie region

The region of the Fenouilledes is a great place to visit . The sites include the Roman aqueduct , still used today for irrigation. The stunning Cathar castles or Queribus, Peyrepertuse and Puilaurens are always a must see, as is the Gorge de Galamus . The thermals spas of Rennes les Bains and Thomas les Bains and Axe les Thermes are always worth a visit.

The region is best known for its wine production, to suite all tastes and, the wine caves are always open and more than happy for you to try before you buy.

Weekly open-air markets in surrounding villages offer a great way to get local fresh produce and to mix with the friendly locals. Many of the restaurants offer good honest local cuisine at good honest prices. Restaurant standards vary from the bar in Caudies where you will get a good pizza to the michelin starred "Le Terroir" in Maury and everything else in between, even the pizza delivery van in Fosse serves good pizza's on a Tuesday night.

Le Vivier

All within a short drive you have a whole host of activities for the not so feint hearted - white water rafting, horse trekking, rock climbing, canoeing and swimming can be found at the local activity centre just outside Caudies de Fenouilledes.
Saint Paul has a weekly open air market on Saturdays.

If you love walking and bird watching, this is the place for you. Many trails are easily marked and vary from an hour or so to the whole day if you wish.

For skiers, you have 3 resorts all within 1hr 15mins drive.

For site seeing, just get in you car and drive, the scenery will and fresh air will revitalise you.

The coastal resorts of the Mediterranean are about 1 hr drive.
