Description
La Bonne Vie - 'The Good Life' describes perfectly the experience of your holiday at our chalet in the heart of the Massif des Bauges Regional Park. Les Bauges is an area of unspoilt and natural beauty, perfect for walking, cycling and skiing, with up to 5 local ski resorts offering low cost skiing to families, beginners and intermediate skiers. It is the perfect place for anyone looking for a holiday away from the crowds, traditional villages, outstanding scenery, markets, crafts, relaxation and active adventure pursuits for all the family. We are situated only an hour's drive from Geneva airport.
Summer time offers a wonderful choice of activities including mountain walks to suit all levels, cycle heaven – both mountain and road, horse riding, canyoning, swimming, hiking, climbing, via ferrata, fishing, horse riding, lake swimming, hiking with donkeys and paragliding.
If you wish to leave the mountains then there are 4 towns all about 30 minutes drive away. The medieval town of Annecy with its beautiful lake, beaches, shopping and restaurants, Chambery the historical capital of the Savoie with its beautiful architecture, good food and wine from the many vineyards in the area. Aix les Bains, the beautiful thermal spa town with its thermal bath treatments and Lac Bourget for swimming, sailing, fishing, water skiing or a cruise. Finally Albertville, the town of art and history with its medieval village of Conflans, well worth a visit. A day trip to Mont Blanc is also worth considering and many of our guests have taken the cable car to Aiguille du Midi to see the breathtaking views of the Alps or the scenic cog railway to Montenvers to see the most famous glacier in France, the Mer de Glace.
In the winter, Les Massif des Bauges has some pretty tree lined ski resorts frequented by the local villagers and those in the know, that's you! Les Aillons and Margeriaz are prime examples offering 43km of piste, great off piste skiing, lunch on the slopes at the friendly Le Bergerie. If skiing not your thing then try snowshoe walking or dog-sledding. Another ski resort, Le Revard is the base for the French national Nordic ski team and offers 240km of trials and routes.
Our chalet is a spacious 3 bedroomed, 2 bathroom, open plan chalet, sleeping 6. The interior is contemporary in design with a wood burning stove, spacious open plan dining and lounge area with a terrace and sunny balcony offering stunning and ever changing views of Mount Colombier and the valley below.
If you want the Good Life, come and discover "La Bonne Vie in the Real Alps" any time of the year.
