The Provence region
It includes high mountain areas, consisting of the southwest corner of the Alps, coastal landforms of isolating small coastal plains and in the western part of the lowland areas in the lower Rhone valley ending in a delta wetland: the Camargue. The highlight of the region is at the Barre des Ecrins (4102 m) in the High Alpes1.
The terrain is generally hilly with impressive Alps in the central and southern Alps to the east and northeast (culminating at 3412 m with needle Chambeyron - Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) . Plans Haute-Provence Alps define the central hills (Plateau de Valensole - Plan Canjuers - Plateau d'Albion). Among the peaks that have achieved international fame, there is the Mont Ventoux, known worldwide thanks to the Tour de France, the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, Cézanne painted in all its facets, the Alpilles, Van Gogh has shown and the Massif Luberon, became the symbol of elite tourism.
The coast from Marseille to Menton are rather steep (Calanques - Moors - Esterel), erosion due to storms summer can be quite dug gullies. The western region is marked by the plain of the Crau and the Camargue, which is the only real flat spaces of the Provence region.
The Beausset-Old
Only remnant of the old village site of the hermitage-Old Beausset includes a twelfth-century Romanesque chapel that is the destination of a pilgrimage area still active. An ancient tradition ascribes to Our Lady of Old Beausset-high efficiency in curing disease or accident protection. This tradition gave birth to a gallery of more than 80 ex-votos, including the oldest dating from the eighteenth century. The ex-voto Beausset-Old is an interesting testimony of naive art and folk art.
The doll house
Home and not a museum, this hotel offers an interesting collection of porcelain dolls and staged. In addition, the House of the doll is nationally recognized by the expertise of its artisans and restaurateurs.
Located rue Pasteur Beausset, home Dalmas welcomed Napoleon Bonaparte when he was a captain. He stayed a month, during the year 1793, during the siege of Toulon.
Small religious buildings dedicated to a saint or a saint, oratories Beausset abound and the town are nearly a hundred. Placed along the ancient paths, they remain in states of preservation or restoration vary widely, some having been integrated into the walls, others on the contrary in a state of near-ruin. They traditionally housed a statue of saint or holy, but repeated thefts statuettes, plaster often of little value, led to their replacement by effigies flat sealed in the oratory. There are at Beausset a path called: the path that leads from the oratories Beausset up Beausset Old chapel, which still represents the ascent to the shrine.
Former Board seat
During the period of the Executive Board welcomed the Beausset the offices of the Republican administration of 15 September 1793 to 5 March 1795. This place is situated rue de la République in Beausset in what was once a private mansion.
