Location description from owner

The Shiselweni District

Warm lowveld bushveld, the Royal Jozini Reserve has 5 different ecosystems. One of the first game reserves in Southern Africa is at Pongola and on the Swazi side, Royal Jozini is some 12000 hectares of unspoiled natural beauty. With the Lebombo Mountains running along the eastern boundary, the reserve is being stocked with zebra, buck and giraffe ahead of the introduction of the Big 5. The Warthogs are busy having babies and their numbers are flourishing, as well as the impala, kudu and nyala. Recently spotted - leopard on the west shore, porcupine and honey badger.

Lavumisa

This is the southernmost part of Swaziland, with our gate just 9kms from the South African border at Golela (near Pongola). A pristine wilderness, Royal Jozini's landscapes and bush are unsurpassed. We have 4 of the big 5 plus tiger fish in the lake . However, fishing and boating are dependent on water levels and in drought conditions, boats are not able to launch.
