Description

In the grounds of Glenfarquhar Lodge, this former bakehouse has been tastefully converted into a unique two bedroomed character property. The property was converted in 2007 to a very high standard, and has been equipped to a very high level.

A perfect property for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle, but equally a good base for exploring North East Scotland, with its castles, whisky distilleries and lovely nearby coastline, to name but a few of its attractions.

Further details

This property is available from 3.00 pm, with normal weekly changeover being on a Saturday. Shorter or longer breaks may be available, subject to time of year. Prices range from £380 to £550 for a week, which normally runs from Saturday afternoon.

Short breaks may be available, outside of any bank or school holidays. A minimum booking of two nights always applies.

Location description from owner

The Scotland region

The Howe O' the Mearns is an area of undiscovered natural beauty, and is Scotland in miniature, having beaches, heather clad mountains, farmland, and forests, all on the doorstep.

We are close to many beaches, highland scenery , and the whisky and castle trails. Filming for Braveheart was carried out at nearby Dunnottar Castle.

The East coast of Scotland experiences drier, sunnier conditions than the west in summer.

Golfing can be found at Auchenblae, Stonehaven Links, Montrose Links, Brechin, Edzell, Letham and of course the championship course at Carnoustie. St Andrews is just over 1 hour's drive.

There are many seafood restaurants within driving distance, serving that days catch.

Golf course (12 hole) - 2 miles away. Children's play area, with jungle gym etc - 2 miles. Tennis courts and Bowling green - 2 miles away.

Stonehaven harbour 10 miles. The fireballs festival on New Years eve should not be missed. Dunnotar Castle (Braveheart was filmed here) 12 miles.
