There are three other houses which in the past would probably housed up to five families who would have worked for the wealthy landowner whose house (now mainly rubble) was situated off the incoming lane. The other outbuildings are, the carriage house (now the laundry room and small workshop), the old mill, and another of the buildings now converted to a one bedroom and a two bedroom apartment. Such a group of dwellings in Ireland would have been known as a clachan.

“I am happy that I could stay there.”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2013

I was there in a business trip with other three colleagues. We stayed for 29 days and were very pleased with everything. The accommodation was found as described on web site, in a very quiet area, very good for relaxing, with very friendly owners. I will go back there with pleasure anytime. I can suggest this accommodation for everybody who likes rural quiet countryside.

“Brilliant place to stay!”
