Description from owner

Description

A totally unique self catering Georgian townhouse in the wonderful Larkhall area 1 Mile east of central Bath. Luxury accommodation in a 3 storey townhouse. Light and airy with lovely comfortable beds with gorgeous Egyptian cotton bedding and white fluffy Turkish towels provided. There is an open plan living area with dining table and galley kitchen. There is a comfy seating area with large white squashy sofas and a large 40" wall mounted flat screen smart TV, DVD player. Freeview and surround sound. There is a single chair bed in the living room for an extra guest. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms. Bedroom one is a luxurious king size double room with ensuite shower room. On the same floor there is a good sized family bathroom with large bath which has a proper shower over and shower screen. There is a concealed washing machine in the cupboard. On the top floor there is a lovely superking room with zip and link bed which can be split into 2 full singles and there is also a comfy single chair bed for an extra guest. Bedroom 3 is a twin with 2 single beds (this room cannot convert to a double). This cosy house has central heating and is double glazed. Constant hot water is always available. The kitchen is fully equipped for 6/8 and you can happily self cater from here. There are good local shopping facilities on the doorstep as the house is right in the centre of the village satellite of Bath called Larkhall. There is an award winning butchers, a greengrocer, who sells local produce, a deli (the oldest in Bath), 2 great cafés and a small supermarket. There is also a post office and newsagent and a couple of good takeaway restaurants. Larkhall is home to the excellent Rondo Theatre showing great plays and comedy nights all year round. There is a regular bus into the centre of Bath but it is only a flat 20 minute walk. Easily accessed from the M4. A super, luxurious, but homely base for spending time exploring Bath and the surrounding areas. There is no garden and the house is not suitable for dogs or small toddlers (due to steep stairs) I am happy to accommodate babes in arms if you bring your own travel cot. It is a non smoking house. There are open spaces nearby and a lovely park with tennis courts, large grassy area, play equipment and a cafe 5 minutes stroll away. A great alternative to more expensive, noisy, city centre properties.

“Fantastic and well-equipped house in a lovely location”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2017

Lovely, comfortable house and very well-equipped - really good kitchen equipment, washing machine, dvd player, hair dryers etc. In a very nice village on the edge of Bath, with lovely cafes, restaurants and local shops near by. Very good for children, and an easy and quick bus journey to the centre of Bath. Very friendly and helpful owner who provided a large basket of food - bread, milk, eggs, bacon, tea, coffee, cereal and jam, as well as Easter chocolate for the children. Would definitely stay again.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind review, it mean a lot to me to know that you had s good holiday. It was my pleasure to host you and your family and you would be welcome to return at anytime.

“Home from home with a luxury feel.”

Reviewed 4 May 2015

Jenni was a warm and welcoming host. The property was beautifully decorated with loads of personal touches a real home from home, with a luxury feel. The house was equipped with everything you could need and more. We stayed as a group of 6 friends and the house was absolutely perfect for our girly weekend in Bath. Loads of fluffy towels in the bathrooms, good showers comfortable beds and the kitchen / living space was sociable, perfect for pre going out drinks, nibbles and laughs. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to stay again.

“Lovely house, lovely location, lovely owner...amazing weekend!”

Reviewed 11 Feb 2015

I would highly recommend No2 Larkhall Square. Myself and 7 of my friends stayed for my 30th birthday weekend in January. The house is set in a lovely village which has a café, co-op, takeaways, green grocers, deli etc all on the doorstep. Jenni (owner) greeted us at the house in order for us to collect the keys and was very helpful in terms of places to visit within Bath, whether it be for food, drinks, shopping. The house is absolutely lovely and we wished we were staying for longer. Will definitely be returning at some point.

“Perfect little place”

Reviewed 10 Feb 2015

Stayed in no2 The Square for a long weekend with friends and it couldn't have been more perfect. Very clean, tidy and extremely well-furnished, it had all we needed, including very comfortable beds with lots of pillows. The only downside was that Friday nights can be a bit noisy and vans seem to park right outside the door while off-loading stuff, but otherwise it was lovely - and ideal for getting into town.

“Ideal for a girly weekend”

Reviewed 23 May 2014

Beautiful bedrooms and very clean and tidy. We were made to feel very welcome, and Jenni prepared the house very well for our hen stay, putting up balloons and banners and chilling some fizz in the fridge. A lovely 20 min stroll to town (all flat) and all necessary shops just metres away from the front door. Perfect for 6-7 sleepers, very comfortable beds. An excellent weekend had by all! Would definitely go again!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for the lovely review. It was my pleasure to help make your weekend special. You were great guests. Would love to see you again.

“Lovely Larkhall - a home away from home!”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2014

We booked Number 2 Larkhall Square fon the recommendation of a friend, rather than use a hotel for a short break in Bath during which we attended a family celebration. We are so glad we did! Beautiful light, airy, spacious accommodation, an easy drive from the M4 junction and also conveniently situated on a bus route into Bath itself. We really appreciated the flexibility of self-catering, especially as the property is so well-equipped and the warm welcome when we arrived. The beds were clean, comfortable and decked out tastefully with fresh white linen and co-ordinating throws and cushions. Bathrooms were modern and immaculately clean. We didn't make full use of the kitchen, but there was plenty of good quality matching cutlery, crockery and glassware (not always the case in some vacation rentals we have visited). In short, a perfect home away from home and we hope to stay again soon.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind words, You were great guests. Welcome back anytime.

“Can't wait to return...”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2014

I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay at Larkhall Square was! The home is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a short or long stay. It's an easy trip into central Bath to see the sites and from a practical perspective there is everything you need at doorstep - two lovely cafes, a good grocery store (brand new co-op), pharmacy and even what looked to be a fantastic butcher shop (we ate out so I can't say for sure). It was very much like staying in a small town. All of the bedrooms are bright but cosy, and the beds are heaven. And, if you have the time a soak in the enormous tub will definitely help with any muscle strain. The owner is an absolute pleasure to deal with and really goes the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your time. If you choose to stay anywhere else in Bath, you're making a mistake! Plus the guide she has created within the property gives you all the information you could need!

Owner's reply: Its so nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for taking the time to post a review. You are always welcome to return, eve if only to try the Butchers! Which incidentally is one of the very best around!
