Location description from owner

The Brittany region

Our lovely apartment in situated in the quaint historic village of Landevennec on the superb Crozon Peninsula which is part of the National Parks of France. In the village the famous abbey and it's museum can be visited and this Abbey still operates. Sometimes music festivals and church services are held here. The coastal path runs through the village and meanders its way through coastal forests and dramatic cliff top scenery. The medieval City of Quimper with its quaint timber framed houses and Cathedral is well worth a visit. On a rainy day a visit to the large aquarium Oceanololis in rest is great fun and you can actually go to Brest by boat from Le Fret about 15 minutes or so from Landevennec.
Numerous sandy coves to vast sandy beaches surround the Peninsula in between the rugged cliff line and the beauty is that parking is so easy, no parking meters at all! and totally uncommercialised.
There are numerous activiities for children of all ages and the vast sandy and uncrowded beaches of the Peninusular are second to none! Great fun can be had kayaking in the sheltered waters, or sandyachting on Pentrez beach. The sheltered waters of the Bay of Douardenez provide safe bathing. From Landevennec the furthest point of the Peninsula would take no more than 25 minutes to reach.

Cliff trop walks are sensational along this coastline. Do browse the lovely landscape photos of the Crozon Peninsula on www.presquile.crozon.free.fr and click on Les plus populaires. All these places named are

In Quimper

A beautiful historic Cathedral town. The river Odet flows through the center. A wealth of shops and boutiques.
Various festivals are held in Quimper.

A little further still:

Pont Aven – a very pretty place, famous for the artists who have lived and painted there – Paul Gauguin being one of them.

Concarneau

A lively historic City. Visit the old town entered through an arch in the surrounding city walls. Lots of little interesting shops in the narrow streets.

Pointe du Raz

A most spectacular viewpoint especially on a wild day to watch the raging seas around this most dangerous stretch of water.

“A perfect apartment in a beautiful quiet village”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2013

The apartment lived up to all the pictures and was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The view onto the estuary is amazing, and the setting is lovely, especially next to the church. We travelled with a 7 month old and I was anxious about the safety of the flat but it was finished to a very high quality and no expense has been spared to give the feel of a home away from home. Only advise I would give to visitors is to do a big food shop at a supermarket in crozon as the local shop sells only the basics. All of the beaches we visited in the peninsula were so different, some Sandy, some Rocky with crab pools and muscles. I think this holiday is for anyone who loves traditional French lifestyle and the countryside unspoilt.
