“Great holiday accommodation for families and groups”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2017

We stayed in the Eco Lodge on Denmark farm in late August. The flexibility of being able to combine units provided ample bedroom and space for 6 adults and 4 young children. The location is wonderful, very peaceful and quiet with plenty of paths to explore the wonderful wildlife on the farm or for the young at heart masses of opportunity to safely explore. The Children and their respective parents really enjoyed the Wild in Woods day learning some new backwoods skills and developing self reliance. This was really a highlight of their holiday undoubtedly aided by Sally's wonderful empathy, skill and preparation. There is also a lot to do in the area and the Dolaucothi Gold mines about 30 mins away were a great hit and New Quay provided all that one could wish for in sand, sea, ice cream and chips! Whether in group or just as a couple the Eco Lodges provide a great base for a break at any time of year.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for coming to stay at Denmark Farm and for your review. We're delighted that you all enjoyed your holiday and the Wild In The Woods event. Very hope that we can welcome you back to Denmark Farm soon. Best wishes. Mara

“Lovely Place to Stay in a Beautiful Part of Wales”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2017

We stayed at Denmark Farm in this beautiful part of Wales in May this year with family and friends and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The group stayed in all the kinds of accommodation that Denmark Farm had to offer including the ECO Lodges, Dormitories and the Campsite which included a fully fitted out yurt. This suited everyone’s taste and budget and enabled us to all come together in this area. My own family stayed in one of the three ECO Lodges which could easily be adapted to accommodate both large and smaller groups. The Lodges themselves were clean, well presented, very comfortable and fully equipped for our self catering stay and so were the other types of accommodation. There were plenty of walks around the nature reserve and plenty of areas that the children could safely explore in the wooded area and meadows. Denmark Farm offers a choice for all and we believe that the best recommendation is “ Would I stay there again --- YES WE WOULD ”

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review John and many thanks for staying at Denmark Farm. We hope to welcome you and Barbara back again soon. Mara

“A special place where nature thrives.”

We held our wedding here (by special permission) and it was an amazing event. All my family and friends came to stay in the Eco Lodge, the dormitories and the campsite, and everyone was very happy with their accommodation. The Eco Lodges are spotlessly clean with beautiful views from the balcony across the valley. It's a real sanctuary for wildlife with wildflowers in the meadows and the blossom out in the hedgerow. I bet quite a few of my friends would like to come back and stay here again. One of them said we should buy it and make it our own magical retreat :-) Thanks to all at Denmark Farm.

Owner's reply: Thank you for sharing your very special day with us. It was wonderful to meet all your family and friends and we will remember the magical event for a long time. Mara

“I've been coming here for the last 4 years!”

Denmark Farm Eco Lodge is a home from home, its immaculately presented, clean and has a very well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathroom(s) in Owl are first rate. Our kids love it here, we go for walks and the beach is half an hour away. This is a real gem of a find and it is our family favourite place to come over half terms, in the Autumn & Winter too! Really good value on the pocket too!

Owner's reply: It was wonderful to see you and your lovely family once again. Thank you for helping with the yurt raising and for the great review too! Hope to see you all again soon. Mara

“It ticked every box”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2017

19 adults seamlessly melted into the amazing accommodation. We used the barn on Saturday to sleep everyone. Strolled round the site, marched into Lampeter (1 hour), went the coast at New Quay and generally had a brilliant time. I am pretty sure anyone from the group would rebook - I would. Thanks for a great long weekend.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review and also for leaving everything so clean and tidy. You're all welcome to come and stay again in future. Mara

“We'll be back!”

Fantastic location, accommodation and Mara couldn't have been more helpful. The children really enjoyed their 'Wild in the Woods' day trip with the organisers and so did Grandad who got to make fire! Lovely place, lovely people.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your lovely review. It was wonderful having you all stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back again in October. Mara

We stayed Friday night until Sunday morning. Denmark Farm Eco Lodge was home from home. It was cosy, warm and clean. Plenty of parking space. The location is peaceful with fantastic Welsh views. Our group was 3 families, 8 adults and a toddler stayed here to go to my nephew's wedding 10 mins. drive away. Mara was my main contact and she was absolutely brilliant. Very helpful and went that extra mile. Thank you again Mara. We reserved 2 cars with Nick Taxis to pick us up from the lodge, take us to the church, pick us up from the church to take us to the wedding reception on a farm and then back to the lodge at midnight. Nick and his wife were fantastic. Very accommodating and lovely to hear the about the local life. We wished we'd had longer to stay but 2 in our group are teachers and we had to get back to school on Monday!

Owner's reply: Thank you for coming to stay at Denmark Farm and for writing such a lovely review. We very much hope to see you here again sometime soon. Warmest wishes. Mara

“Peace, perfect peace!”

This is our second stay at Denmark Farm, but definitely not our last. We had a wonderfully peaceful week and even the weather didn't dampen our spirits, or our love for the place. There are so many places to visit and some lovely walks, but this is not the place to go to if you want lively evenings. Lampeter is a quiet country town and Denmark Farm is a few miles away from anywhere. tranquil and lovely and a great place for watching wildlife. If you want to be refreshed and to recharge our batteries away from the rat-race of the city - this is the place to be.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoy staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Denmark Farm Eco Lodge again very soon. Warmest wishes. Mara

“Extremely pleasant, comfortable, welcoming stay”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2014

Lovely fresh 'lodges within a lodge' - superb for our large group, who could choose to either stay in each of the three separate, generous-sized apartments, and visit each other via the front or back porch, or to unlock dividing doors, and make one, super- sized chalet, still with private bedrooms. Easily accessible. Light and airy, yet warm & cosy, especially with the efficient wood-burners. Everything exceptionally clean and new. The barn, which we also rented, was perfect for those happy to be in a dorm-style sleeping arrangement upstairs, and for us all to gather in for a group get-together. ....Weather was irrelevant!! Besides nature walks, we did need our cars to visit sites, as we were certainly in the country. If we have opportunity for a future visit, we may take advantage of craft workshops.

Owner's reply: Wonderful to meet you all and so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Many thanks & warmest wishes Mara.

“We want to move in!”

There was unanimous agreement among the 21 of us who stayed at the beautiful Eco Lodge and the lovely adjoining Barns- we did not want to go home. In fact that really was the only complaint- we did not book it for long enough (4 nights). Do not let the winters put you off coming here. Although it would be amazing to return in the summer, we loved the cosy, secluded vibe. Unlimited wood to light your fire at your disposal, it was simply dreamy. The Eco Lodge itself is nicely furnished and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, and there was nothing that we did not have. I simply cannot rave enough about this place, so you will have to book it to see for yourself. There are lovely walks and trails on the site with some interesting features. Lampeter is a lovely little town and we found the people friendly. We also visited New Quay beach, which was beautiful. The Eco Lodge and barn/dorms are an ideal location for visiting other towns but a cosy, comfortable place to retreat to at the end of the day. Aside from this the customer service, particularly from Mara was excellent. We will definitely be back, and will not be hesitating to recommend.

Owner's reply: Thank you for staying with us and for your very positive review. I hope that you enjoyed your visit to Devil's Bridge on route home. You and your friends are welcome back at Denmark Farm any time. Mara
