Description from owner


Our house "Sula" has beautiful views over Lamlash bay to Holy Island. The house is in a quiet location, only 50 metres from the beach and is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the tranquility and views the beautiful Island of Arran has to offer.We have decking in front of the glass fronted living room offering panoramic views out over the sea.

There are 5 good pubs/restaurants within walking distance. Lamlash also has tennis courts and a few shops for essentials. There are many beautiful walks in the area. The village is only 3 miles from the ferry terminal at Brodick and is easily reached by car or local bus.

The house has an L shaped living/dining room, well equipped kitchen and downstairs bathroom, whilst upstairs there is a double and a twin bedroom. There is a woodburning stove for chilly evenings although the house also has electric heating. Outside there is a large decking area off the living room which enjoys beautiful views. There is also a small (unenclosed) garden and ample parking.

One, well behaved, dog is welcome, although we would ask you to advise us of this at the time of booking. Out of courtesy to other guests, please do not allow dogs on to the furniture or upstairs. You may be aware that the new RET (road equivalent tariff) has greatly reduced the cost of travelling to Arran, both as a foot passenger and with a vehicle.

We are regular visitors to Arran and this is an ideal house as it's a short walk to the shops and food places in Lamlash yet peaceful and private. Don't miss the Old Pier cafe. We went over to the Holy Isle on the little ferry. Very interesting but be prepared to wait for the ferry - no timetable! Take your own food and drink. Now we have found Sula we hope to return!

Love being based in Lamlash. Short walk to the beach and pubs, most of which are dog friendly. The house is in an ideal location to explore the island and has clear views of Holy Island from the balcony and large lounge window. We watched a red squirrel as it passed by in the mornings, sometimes stopping for a hazelnut. Even our Labrador became accustomed to the visits. Enjoyed the wood burning stove on the chilly evenings. This was our fifth visit to the Isle of Arran and probably won't be the last.

Lovely cottage, very clean and had everything you could need for a relaxing break. Beach was less than five minutes walk and within ten minutes walk there was a variety of places that served nice meals.

The house is as described and more, yes the view of the Holy Isle is fantastic but so is the feeling of being amongst the trees, listening to the birds, spotting red squirrels and listening to the burn which goes through the bottom of the garden. The house is modern, clean, warm and well designed and has everything you might need for a holiday without being cluttered. Lamlash has a number of good places to eat in which are a pleasant stroll away, a well stocked Co-op and is the starting point for coastal and forest walks.

Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable dans cette adorable petite maison qui est lumineuse, confortable et fort jolie ! La terrasse est un atout supplémentaire étant donné la sublime vue sur la mer et la Holy Isle. Une adresse que nous conservons précieusement !

What a great house in a great location! Super clean, and everything you could possibly need is supplied. We were very lucky with weather, not a drop of rain. Great pubs/cafes just a 5 min walk along the road, great football area down near the sea. We will be back!

We have just had a fabulous week in Arran and Sula is a great place to stay. The house is tucked away in a very quiet location but the amenities of Lamlash are only a short walk away. Sula is a lovely house and very well equipped, comfortable and warm. The decor and furnishings, particularly downstairs give a nice light and bright Scandinavian feel to the property. We really enjoyed sitting and looking out at the beautiful view of Holy Island whilst the red squirrels provided additional entertainment on the terrace! I would definitely recommend Sula as a fab place to stay and hope that we'll return ourselves sometime soon.

“Perfect for a peaceful holiday”

we have just returned after a week in this beautiful holiday home, which is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The setting is idyllic with fantastic views over Lamlash Bay to Holy Isle and the surrounding area abounds with red squirrels, rabbits, etc., with the birdsong an ideal wake-up call. There are lots of first-class restaurants within a very short distance and being only three miles from the ferry terminal in Brodick it's very easy to reach. It is also ideal for golfers with Lamlash golf course being within walking distance. Can't wait to return next year.

How do damage deposits work?
