Location description from owner

The Scotland region

The Isle of Arran offers something for everyone. Great walking, challenging climbing, lots of outdoor pursuits and plenty of cosy bars and restaurants. Increasingly Arran is gaining a reputation for fine food and most restaurants highlight local produce with cooking styles to suit every taste. Just a short hop on the frequent ferries from Ardrossan in Ayrshire or Claonig on Kintyre the Island could be hundreds of miles away from the hussle of urban living. For more information check out the Visit Arran website.

Lamlash

Lamlash village sits in a sheltered bay on the east of the Island dominated by Holy Isle. The village retains plenty of character and is an ideal base for any holiday being less than 10 minutes drive from the main ferry terminal in Brodick. Linkfield is located less than 100m from the sea and a short stroll along the front brings you to several lovely craft shops including The Curtain House and also The Drift Inn, The Old Pier Café and Glenisle Hotel. The house is also well located for Lamlash Golf Club and there is a bus stop 150m away if you don't want to bring your car. Arran ferry fares have reduced substantially making the Island a truly affordable destination.

“Great location”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2017

Had a lovely time here, handy for the ferry terminal (only 10 mins away). My children enjoyed pottering around on the nearby beach. Plenty of fridge and freezer space, great to have a washer and dryer. Lovely large rooms and modern kitchen. Stunning views from upstairs bedrooms and loved the coal fire. The children enjoyed playing the piano. Nice outside space, shame weather wasn't nice enough to use it much. Lamlash was a great location for exploring Arran and lots of great eateries, particularly the Glenisle bistro and the old pier tearoom. I had to change the dates of my stay and Christine was very helpful and patient in sorting it out with Tripadvisor. Thanks for a lovely holiday Christine.

Owner's reply: Thank you Lindsay I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. I loved the girls comments in the visitor book. Maybe next time the weather will be kinder. Hope to welcome you again to Linkfield.
