Casa Mariposa is a characterful whitewashed Andalucian Villa. It is peaceful and private with breathtaking panoramic views of the Sierra Tejeda National Park and Lake Viñuela. One great advantage is that it is only a 40 minute drive from Malaga Airport which is served by a wide range of budget airlines. The house is all on one level and is open plan with a spacious and well equipped American style kitchen with large marble breakfast bar leading to the lounge/dining room. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and modern furniture and log burner.Casa Mariposa has it's own private 10 metre by 6 metre pool set in a huge pool terrace with panoramic views of Lake Vinuela and the Mountains. The pool terrace is South facing with sun all day and has sunbeds and furniture to relax on and a parasol for shade and large BBQ. With the breathtaking panoramic views of the outstanding beauty of the Andalucian countryside, Casa Mariposa is a perfect location for rest and relaxation, eating and drinking, soaking up the sun, or sitting in the many private shady areas in the mature gardens and terraces around the Villa.If you are more energetic and adventurous, there are hundreds of miles of mountain tracks for walkers and mountain biking. There is a 4 x 4 centre offering quads and buggy's, horse riding centres, water sports and boat hire on Lake Vinuela itself. The fantastic 3km of beach of Torre del Mar only 20 minutes away with its water park which is great for adults and children alike. There is also a local go carting track and some local golf courses where club and buggy hire is available.The National Park of Sierra de Tejeda is within 5 minutes drive of the Villa. It has picnic and BBQ areas for public use and adventure playgrounds for children. It is famous for its mountain goats, fabulous scenery with mountain gorges and the 10km mountain pass suitable for motor vehicles. The complex of El Ingenio is only 15 minutes drive away and has a large indoor shopping centre, large supermarket, designer shops, cinema, bowling alley & many bars and restaurants.Fiestas are held in all the towns and villages throughout the year. Velez Malaga, the nearest town is steeped in history, complete with an historical castle and offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants and shops.The Villa is well located for visiting further afield attractions as well as the many attractions available more locally. These range from Ronda in the West to Granada in the East (where you can visit the famous Alhambra Palace). A short scenic 20 min drive takes you to the coast, a major shopping centre and the bustling Spanish seaside resort of Torre del Mar and its famous fish tapas bars! Further afield, if you wish to see more sights, Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Antequera and Gibraltar are all within travelling distance by car or train. Nerja, with its famous caves is a short drive away and is a beautiful traditional, bustling coastal town. It is well worth returning to the City of Malaga (that you passed after leaving the airport). Malaga is the birthplace of Picasso and boasts historic architecture and the Picasso Museum, wonderful shops, a Port and a Marina. Also near Malaga and the Airport is Marbella and Puerta Banus. Both are worth a visit. Further afield is the UK territory of Gibraltar which is also worth a visit as it is steeped in History and has great shops and bars. The Lake Vinuela area has a mild, Mediterranean climate with over 300 days of sunshine per year. So outdoor living is possible most of the year. You can enjoy tapas and sample lovely and inexpensive local wines at the Villa or whilst strolling through the typical Andalucian white villages. In the winter, you can go skiing at the well-equipped resort of Solynieve in the Sierra Nevada, which is just under 2 hours drive away.Both locally and further afield there are some fantastic 'typically Spanish bars and restaurants.

“Gorgeous Villa - fantastic holiday!”
This villa is fantastic and if I could give more than 5 stars I would!! I had a fantastic holiday in November with friends here. The villa is fabulous, spacious, decorated beautifully and it was so clean. Facilities are fantastic with wifi, a lovely comfy lounge area and a very decent size kitchen. The pool has to be the highlight of the place, its is gorgeous and always in the sun which surprised me in November! The place is very near to Malaga which is a lovely city, and a short drive for some beautiful towns and restaurants. Everything is great value for money, eating and drinking in this area is so cheap so your Euros go far. This villa would be perfect for couples, families or groups of friends. I was impressed with how versatile it is. Will definitely book again and recommend to all.
“Stunning Villa- highly recommend!!”
I stayed at this villa and November and was absolutely impressed with both the property and the area. The villa is gorgeous, spotless, beautifully decorated with lots of lovely finishing touches including comfy beds, a log fire and a lovely breakfast bar area. Outside there are loads of areas to sun bathe but the highlight has to be the amazing pool. Sun worshippers this has to be the holiday for you!! The pool is just lovely, its large with lots of lovely outside furniture to relax on and top up your tan. If thats not enough I was absolutely enthralled by the views. The villa is surrounded by beautiful scenery wherever you look including the huge mountains and pretty little white towns dotted about. The locals are friendly and I couldn't believe how cheap everything was!! The owners were wonderful to deal with and very friendly. I really cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be booking again.

“Nice villa with amazing pool”
The villa is in a good location, close to Malaga. Granada, Córdoba and Gibraltar are all within 2 hours drive. There are some good restaurants and supermarkets within 5 minutes drive. Torre del Mar an excellent beach within 20 minutes drive, two very good shopping centres are within 20 minutes drive(Ingenio and de la Victoria) The villa is well furnished with fast WiFi, Sky TV, washing machine, dishwasher and everything you need. There are three terraces, front, back and the pool section. The pool is huge and very clean, it was cleaned once by a contractor while we were staying there, it has lights and also lights inside the pool so we could use it at night as well. Owner was very helpful and provided lots of information about the area, also emailed me a couple of times to ask if I needed anything. We enjoyed our stay at the villa and we highly recommend it.

July 26th to August 8th 2015. Just spent 13 fantastic days at Helen & Andrew's house Casa Del Suenos. The house is located in a very tranquil area but near shops, bars & restaurants. It was just the holiday we needed a break from modern stresses of work!! The house is very clean, modern & has a very homely feel to it. It had all the amenities we needed to enhance our stay, wifi & sky sports The pool area is tremendous & so relaxing, we spent a lot of time there. Even sat there in the evening with a night cap to finish the day off. Helen & Andrew couldn't be more helpful with advice on what's on in the area from restaurants to nights out. We went out most nights for dinner at restaurants that were recommended & we never had one bad meal. We travelled around the area visiting local towns Torre del Mar & Vellez Malaga. We also went to Granada to visit the Alhambra palace which was well worth the visit. Going to miss this wee haven a lot.

“We were happy with our vacation and stay at this house!”
We were accorded a hearty welcome from Helen and her husband. They really did everything to ensure that their guests would have everything they would need at vacation. It is a very convinient house in a nice quite place. It is very easy to get to the beaches, small beaitufil towns/villages around.

“Fabulous property, huge pools, great for families!”
We are a family of six and we all loved this Villa! It is beautifully presented and spacious with lots of lovely furniture both inside and outside. Although the Villa has unlimited Wifi and Sky TV, for once our children preferred to be outside, mainly in the pool which was lovely. A big plus point for us was that as the villa is private, with a huge private pool, we didn't have to worry about the safety of our kids as we have in the past when using communal pools. There were lots of lovely places to sit outside and with 8 sun beds and luxury sofas and chairs we felt really relaxed. The villa was very clean and luxurious with everything you needed. The owners have thought of everything, even providing crockery and glasses for picnics and plastic glasses and crockery etc for safety on the pool terrace. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for our family of 6. A cot and high chair and even a pushchair being provided was great for our youngest daughter. We loved the Vinuela area and visited the lake and nearby national park where there are BBQs and Picnic tables for public use. Eating out is cheap and children made really welcome which we loved. The booking process was simple and the owners were helpful. For a place of this quality, we thought the cost was very reasonable. We plan to return for October Half Term holidays as we just didn't want to leave!!

“Excellent accommodation, a great location and stunning views plus a large pool makes for a perfect holiday”
The accommodation is excellent, beautifully furnished to a very high standard and really well equipped with all the essentials. The attention to detail was great and the villa had lots of nice little personal touches you don’t get in most holiday lets. The unlimited Wi fi and Sky Television also provide a home from home necessity too. One of the major plus points was the big variety of outdoor space with sun and natural shade. Luxury outside furniture was provided to all sides of the house and the gardens were well lit with solar lights in the evening which was a nice touch. My favourite area was the huge pool terrace which catches the sun all day. The covered South West facing terrace was also lovely for a glass of wine and food at all times of day. The villa is private and secluded and is not overlooked which is great. It is close to Lake La Vinuela and has views of the Lake but I especially liked the mountain views. I spent many an hour by the surprisingly large pool in the afternoons and early evening gazing at the mountains; the sunsets were spectacular. The pictures of the views do not really do it justice, it’s just stunning. There are many local eateries, cafes and shops plus Malaga is an easy driving distance for serious shoppers! It’s the sort of location where you can do as much or as little as you want from adventure parks to local sightseeing, to the 15 minute drive to the beach at Torre Del Mar or 40 minutes slightly further afield to Nerja with its Blue Flag beach. The house is about 40 mins drive from Malaga Airport which is great and whilst you could have a perfectly relaxing holiday in Vinuela and its surroundings, I would definitely recommend hiring a car to make the most of your stay. If you’ve never been then a day out in Gibraltar is highly recommended. If whiling away a morning sipping coffee with a brandy accompanied by (very cheap) tapas in one of the Vinuela cafes is your style then this is the place for you... All in all a great place to relax in. No hidden extras and professionally cleaned. I shall certainly be going back there.
