The house is surrounded by olive groves and almond trees with unrivalled, breathtaking Lake and Mountain views.A perfect place to relax in the peace and quiet of the Spanish countryside.

This is the ideal place to get away from it all, to relax and unwind, to explore the beaches, countryside and moorish villages of Andalucia. Lake Vinuela, which can explored on foot.

There are local bars and restaurants within walking distance from the house. The excellent Hotel Vinuela is nearby and welcomes non-residents in it's restaurant and spa facilities.Horse riding and Lake sports are available locally.

Dine out on your private terrace or visit the many excellent restaurants nearby.Supermarkets, banks, etc are a short drive away and there are regular 'street markets' where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables and of course the 'bargain gift' to take home.

For guests who enjoy walking, the surrounding countryside offers spectacular views which ever way you go.Walking tours are offered by "Paco" a very knowledgeable local and can be booked in Los Romanes.Paco also runs the "KIOSKO", a renowned local bar where the views are amazing and locals meet for a beer and quite often live music.

“A magnificent holiday”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2018

I booked casa ribeyro for 10 nights and I can honestly say that our stay was more than perfect. The location is absolutely amazing but what made our stay even more wonderful was meeting Alex and Charles. They made me feel at home from the minute I arrived and it was such a pleasure to meet such lovely people! The surrounding area and landscape can only be appreciated by spending time sitting out on a warm summers evening... Stunning to say the least!!! I would highly recommend a stay at casa ribeyro for a truly authentic Spanish holiday... A hidden gem in Malaga! Thanks again Alex and Charles.... We will definitely be back!!!

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your great review. It was a pleasure and great fun to meet you both too!! We are so pleased you were impressed with the location and beauty which surrounds the house and that you found it as authentic as we try to make it. Look forward to seeing you again.Alex and Charles

“Idyllic Country Retreat”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2017

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful refurbished Spanish house -- lots of original features and every room had plenty of space. Big dining terrace and beautiful pool terrace with fabulous views over Lake Vinuela and Mount Maroma. Charles and Alex were perfect hosts, supplying a welcome pack that could last you two days, and lemons and raisins from the neighbours. Any problems were dealt with swiftly and with a smile -- the wifi was iffy at first but Charles sorted it in no time ! This was the ideal spot the to reach the little real Spanish towns and villages, have real tapas in village bars, and eat a typical Spanish lunch in a restaurant in the back of beyond with no menu, then retreat back to the Casa for a dip in the pool and a mug of Yorkshire tea !! If you still want your seaside fix, Torre del Mar is just 20 minutes away on good roads. Couldn't want for anything more -- magic !!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a super review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa Ribeyro and savouring real spanish life in the surrounding area. Hope to see you again one day. Regards, Alex and Charles

“Real rustic Spain, with fabulous views”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2016

We are sitting back home looking out at the rain beating on the windows and wishing we were back in Spain! Casa Ribeyro is a lovely authentic rustic finca, with all the old charm you would expect in this very Spanish mountainous region. There is a beautiful pool with fantastic views up towards the mountains and down to the lake. We were left a lovely welcome pack which meant we didn't have to find our way to the shops on the first day. The property is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are several restaurants in and around the village but you do need a car to get to them, or you can walk down to the lakeside restaurants, although not advisable in the dark. We didn't meet Alex and Charles personally, but Alex was very accommodating in letting some friends of ours stay for a few days in the property with us, for a small extra charge. It was lovely to share the experience and views with our friends. On the downside, the access to the property is very, very steep and narrow, and as we had been upgraded by the car hire company, we had a totally unsuitable car for the terrain. Would suggest a fairly small car is hired which has plenty of poke and good ground clearance to get up and down the steep lanes. Also not so good is the incessant barking of the local dogs all around the property. What is it with dog owners that they think everyone wants to hear their dogs bark, at times constantly, day or night, when they shut them outside? There is no longer a hot tub at the property. That said, we did have the most fantastic holiday in spite of the above drawbacks, and would not hesitate to recommend Casa Ribeyro to others, who, with the help of this and other reviews, can make an informed judgement on what they want from a holiday. If it's fantastic views, good weather, the rural life and friendly people, then this is the place!

“Lovely place, lovely people, relaxed to the max”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2013

A perfect vacation spot away from the crowds and the beaches, beautiful location, outstanding accommodation and truly welcoming hosts. Alex and Charles met us at the local pub for a welcoming drink then helped us along the final stretch of country road to the house, and to move our luggage, they made us feel at home instantly - thanks guys. The starter pack of groceries was a simple idea but very helpful, especially if your first day is a Sunday. As advised the holiday really needs a car, but the roads are quiet and well signed and you need one anyway to explore the spectacular countryside. We will definitely come back first chance we get.

Owner's reply: It was a pleasure to meet you both and so glad you enjoyed your time at Casa Ribeyro. We would love to see you both again anytime. Thank you for your kind comments. Regards,Alex and Charles

“Home from home - Casa Ribeyro”

Super property offering all that it say's on the " tin " and more - expansive property with excellent accommodation both inside & out. Superb views of lake and surrounding countryside - which we never tired of enjoying - whatever time of the day - most peaceful location with the great benefit of good sized pool - not often found in one / two bedroom lets. Would look forward to returning again in near future to enjoy this " jewel " and the company of our hosts " Alexandros & Carlos " - their adopted Spanish names.

Owner's reply: We are so glad you enjoyed sharing our 'jewel' with us. We enjoyed meeting you too and look forward to the next time. The Lake and mountains will be waiting! Thank you for your kind comments. Alexandros and Carlos.

The owners were on hand to guide us to the best local restaurants and bars and always a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a tasteful spanish property set in stunning, beautiful & peaceful surroundings.........(.the view across the lake is breath taking), but appreciate outstanding value!!

Owner's reply: So glad you enjoyed your stay and that you appreciated the fabulous views from the Farmhouse. It was a pleasure to meet you both. Alex and Charles
