Casa Do Nascer Sol (House of the Rising Sun) is a beautifully located and furnished 3 storey town house opposite Meia Praia beach (200 metres). If you want some space, with stunning views you wont be disappointed. Both bedrooms are each 4.6mt x 4.3mt inc fitted wardrobes and the twin bedroom is 3.1mt x 3.6mt. inc fitted wardrobe. We have recently carried out complete refurbishments to the kitchen, bathroom and en suite, as well as furniture for the lounge.
TOP FLOOR - Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. Newly installed fully equipped kitchen for 2015 season, leading to inside dining area for 6. This leads to the lounge with 2 comfortable sofas and TV area. There is a selection of books, games, DVD's, Binoculars for your leisure. Lounge leads to terrace with table and seating with beautiful views of the sea.
MIDDLE FLOOR - Main bedroom with super king beautiful black wrought iron bed, bedside tables/lamps, fully equipped. Small terrace with sea views. Bathroom, newly refurbished in 2014 with bath/shower, WC. Twin bedded room.
LOWER FLOOR - Large bedroom with new en-suite with "rain shower", double vanity unit, WC, Washing machine.

The house can accommodate six adults with scope for small children . For each additional guest above 6 there will be a small additional charge of charge £10 per day. Both bedrooms are very spacious. The bedroom on the lower floor is particularly suitable for families, it can easily accommodate travel cots which we can provide as well as a double sofa bed. The en-suite has a washing machine.
Full range of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, glasses, cool boxes and picnic boxes available for your use. Beach toys/umbrellas are located in the hall. Children's beach toys can be found in the wardrobe in the twin bedded room on the middle floor. We also have stair gates, travel cots, high chairs(s) available.

Free parking is available directly outside the house. There are attractive gardens by the communal pool area whilst soaking up some rays . You can take your own drinks etc down to the pool (plastic glasses)Both double bedrooms have balconies which look out over the sea, being the perfect way to wake up on your holiday.The top balcony is ideal for eating outside with a fabulous view of the coast, westwards to Lagos town and to Dona Ana probably about 3km across the bay and eastwards towards Alvor with Praia da Rocha in the distance. Breakfast on the balcony is a great way to start the day.There is a large white metal table on this balcony with 6 matching chairs and there are several spare garden chairs which can be used if necessary - there is plenty of space !!The bottom balcony is the largest and has a few chairs and a 2 new sun beds to relax on.Large potted plants on each balcony - including an orange tree on the bottom balcony which produces oranges seemingly every other year.
Guest information providing more information on the property the area and activities will be sent to you electronically approx. 6 weeks before your holiday. Entry to the house is from 3pm on the first day of your booking, and guests are kindly asked to vacate the property by 11am on the morning of their last day.
The house is in a residential area and parking is available outside the house.
As a townhouse, there are stairs up to the top floor and down to the lower floor (you come into the house on the middle floor). This may not be suitable for anyone with restricted mobility. If you have any questions please do ask us.

The Algarve region
The Algarve is the southernmost region of Portugal and it's one of Europe's favourite holiday destinations well known for glorious year round sunshine and excellent sandy beaches. The western Algarve is unspoilt with many rocky coves and sandy beaches very close to Lagos where you could have the beach to yourself.
Everywhere you go, you are surrounded by bright colours, from the golden sands, to the crystal clear waters, the clear blue skies, the vivid green grass, and the white-washed walls of the buildings in the Algarve's old towns.
There is no one best way to explore this region of Portugal. The seemingly endless coastline includes some of the world's most beautiful beaches, but by venturing just a few miles inland, you can lose yourself in the heritage and history of the Algarve.
The Algarve caters for all holiday makers with every watersport available for all tourists.
Road and mountain biking is very popular with almost empty roads as soon as you leave the EN125, and great cliff top trails. The summit of Monchique ( 970metres) via the quiet roads is a wonderful ride and their are numerous off-road tracks to explore in the surrounding hills.
The Algarve is also home to some of the world's most famous golf courses, where players of all ability are welcome.
Lagos enjoys a fantastic climate for most of the year, and benefits from it's close location next to the sea, a scenic coastline, and historical patrimony. It also has plenty of cultural and night-life entertainment venues which cater for all age groups - there are plenty of late night bars/clubs which come to life after 10pm and numerous of restaurants to suit all pockets . Many local traditions are celebrated, ranging from architecture to gastronomy and handicrafts.
Lagos has fabulous beaches and coves, an historic town with great shopping in its quiet cobbled back streets combine to make the town one of the most sought after resorts on the coast.
Meia Praia (which means half beach) with it's soft and white sand, is a sweeping bay about 4 - 5 km long and is a EU blue flag beach. The water is clear and great for swimming and is only about 200m from the property.
Just 3km away across the bay westwards, and visible from the house is Dona Ana beach, also a blue flag beach. The sand on Dona Ana is slightly thicker than the beaches in the surrounding area, and the beach itself is bounded by lovely rock formations. Dona Ana is essentially split into two beaches with a protruding cliff separating the two sides at high tide. Again, the sea is very clear and great to swim in and there are 2 restaurants overlooking the bay which do a variety of dishes. The local fishermen come onto the beach in their small fishing boats to pick you up for a trip round the caves (grotto) which is excellent value for about €10 pp.
Palmares golf club is 1.5km away and Boavista golf club is only 8km from the apartment.
From the port of Lagos you can organise various activities and excursions such as boat hire, scuba diving, dolphin watching, sea fishing, cave exploration by boat, surfing, windsurfing and many more. There is an excellent water park (near Guia) about 25 minutes away which children (and most adults!) will love and also a zoo marine park which has dolphin and sea lion shows, children's funfair rides and a water park.
If you prefer, you can sit in or outside one of the many restaurants and cafes in Lagos or just watch the boats in the marina and enjoy the local cuisine.
The most south-westerly point of Europe, Cape da St Vincente, is only about 25kms away and is reported to be a THE place to listen to the sea and watch the sun set over the Atlantic.
There are also lots of picturesque towns and mountain villages to visit in and around the Algarve and not too far from Lagos.
Nearby on the beach road back to town there is a new 4 star hotel opened in 2009 which has a spa, gym, indoor pool, minigolf etc which is open to the public for a small fee - ask at the hotel reception. A 5 star hotel opened in 2011 a few hundred metres east - left along the beach road, and similarly has facilities open to the public. We have used the pool/spa/gym at both hotels and the daily rate is very reasonable. Use of these facilities would be a bonus for a winter break . You pass the 4 star hotel on your left as you drive along the Miea Praia beach road about 400 metres before the turning to our house and the 5 star hotel is a few hundred metres further .

We first stayed one week in September 2011. The best comment we can make on our experience with the property and its landlord is to have returned for 2 weeks in July 2012. Location, condition are equipment are all excellent and the landlord, with Anna Paula's help, makes everyting very easy. Nothing has disappointed. Hoping to be back again!

"Fantastic property, easily accessible to fabulous beach and vibrant town of Lagos!"
We had a great holiday ... it's a perfect location for families with teenagers, as they could make their own way into Lagos safely. Very close to a superb beach with water sports, sun beds and great beach bars! The property is beautifully decorated and very spacious and has the use of a good sized communal pool. Added to all of this, we were lucky enough to have fantastic weather every day and a great tan as a result! Will definitely be returning.
