The villa Mar á Vista is located in a small urbanisation, just 1 km away from the beach “Meia Praia” and the sea and about 5 km to the city of Lagos. The villa lies on a plot of 1.540 sq. m., surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean garden. The luxury villa is furnished in a classical modern style and has a living space of 185 sq. m. The garden is divided into different parts, on a spacious lawn you can rest or play; there is a playground for children with a swing, seesaw, slide and sandbox. Another part of the garden offers fruits and vegetables (depending on the season). The famous golf course “Palmares” lies 2 km far from the villa and in the village of “Odeáxere”, (2.5 km) you will find some excellent restaurants and cafes. Approx. 300 days of sunshine per year, with a cool breeze from the Atlantic during the summer time and a mild spring-climate during the winter – all this turns the Algarve in a favourite vacation spot all years round.
The villa consists of: charming living room with fireplace, open to the dining area and the well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, refrigerator, oven, etc. There is also a washing machine. Two of the lovely bedrooms are furnished with double beds, 1 bedroom with a single bed (extra bed available); two bathrooms (1 en suite). Living and bedrooms have French windows towards the garden or the terrace with Pool (9 x 5 m) and barbecue. Sun loungers, parasols and garden furniture are available, as well as a gas central heating for the colder month. The gallery on the upper floor offers a beautiful sea view.

The Algarve region
The Windward coast (Barlavento), stretching from Faro westwards to the Sagres Point (that evokes the departures of the caravels on their voyages of discovery and Prince Henry's "Sagres School" of navigation), is mostly made up of small sandy coves between rocky outcrops. Its windswept waters are colder and excellent for underwater fishing. One of the most important cities here is Lagos.
It was the capital of the Algarve from 1576 to 1756 and one of the main centres of the Discoveries, who's driving force, Prince Henry the navigator, lived, worked and died in the city. Many of his expeditions set sail from its port. It was the birthplace of the navigator Gil Eanes who rounded Cape Bojador in 1434. Some heritage from this period may still be seen: primarily the famous market to which slaves arrived from Africa.
One of the greatest riches of the Algarve lies in its abundance of golden sandy beaches that almost invariably offer a varied range of service infrastructures and nautical sports. The sea temperature is in general cooler than that of the Mediterranean but in summer it can attain 21 - 22°C, the sea being colder along the coast towards Sagres than towards the eastern-most point of the Algarve.
The Algarvean beaches of the coast that extends from Sagres to Portimão have different characteristics from those of the coast that extends from Portimão to Vila Real de Santo António. Along the former coast the beaches appear between rock formations, and give onto small bays in which local fishing communities faithfully persist with traditional methods (Salema, Burgau and Luz).
Near Lagos you may take the opportunity to go on a cruise To Ponta da Piedade, a promontory famous for the peculiar shapes the sea erosion has given the rocks over the years.
The beaches interspersed among the cliffs have longer stretches of dune the closer we draw to Portimão.
