Description

This grade 2 listed barn has been sympathetically renovated to a high standard and has been awarded a 4 star rating with a gold award from visit England. It is situated in a large enclosed and landscaped courtyard garden which has access to a well equipped games room, surrounded by Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Lackford Lakes Nature reserve which is a birdwatchers paradise. Wildlife is all around, many migratory birds come to Lackford Lakes and from here you can enjoy the sound of owls, nightingales, turtle doves, Canada geese and deer. Here you can really get away from it all yet the beautiful historic town of Bury St Edmunds is only 5 miles away and the racing town of Newmarket is 12 miles away. “Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting”

Reviewed 10 Nov 2018

Right on the edge of the Lackford Lakes reserve, this barn accommodation is ideally situated for a relaxing stay. It's home from home. The accommodation has everything you need and was very clean and lovely and warm with its underfloor heating.

Owner's reply: Glad that you found the cottage warm and cosy. We do try to create a home from home where you can get away from it all and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside all around.

“Peace and quiet at its best.”

Clean peaceful and everything plus provided. My second stay this year. Nature reserve is really special for bird lovers. Wouldn't book through trip adviser again.

Owner's reply: So pleased that you enjoyed your stay, we're very grateful for your return custom. Best wishes from us all

“Awesome property set in lovely surroundings with secure parking”

Reviewed 24 Mar 2018

Perfect location, quite, secure parking - all our needs covered. The property was immaculate with easy access, have already recommended to friends, we would gladly stay again

Owner's reply: Thank you. There is plenty of space for parking and the enclosed courtyard is a really secure, pleasant space. We hope you come again. Best wishes from all of us

“Fab”

Toastie warm despite the snow, tranquil, everything you could possibly need, just pack clothes, toiletries and food (tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, towels, bedding, etc all provided). Great selection of games, books, DVDs (huge tub of lego). Lovely games room and laundry room, home from home. Internet slow at times, no phone signal (virgin), and TV is tiny, but we went to get away from all of that so still a plus in my book!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. Sorry that you had a small TV, its a temporary stand in because the previous TV was damaged and is due to be replaced. Im glad you liked the games room, books and DVDs. Best wishes and please come again if you can.

“Perfect county cottage”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2018

Loved this place. The cottage had everything we needed. The only thing we needed to bring was food. So quiet and peaceful. . Would love to come again n the summer. Would recommend to anyone.

Owner's reply: Please do come again, especially when the weather is better. We've had so much snow and ice recently. We have many return visitors and we hope that you will become one of them. Best wishes, Emma

“Peaceful and Tranquil”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2014

What a wonderful stay at a beautifully renovated barn in the Suffolk countryside. The photos on the website do not do this place justice. All of the rooms were immaculate and extremely comfortable. the welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, butter and hot cross buns was a lovely touch. The gardens were so pretty and well looked after. It was very quiet and we could totally relax. It was also great to be near the nature reserve. Would recommend this holiday cottage to anyone. The only problem was from the booking website not giving us any details about how to collect the keys. We had to contact them to ask what to do as there were security gates and key codes needed to access the property.

Owner's reply: We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry that you had problems accessing the property. We have an access statement for each of the cottages at Lackford Lakes Barns and we are now sending this out routinely when balancing payments are made. Hope you come again! Best wishes, Emma
