Once the village post office, this charming character house is in a great location - just 10 minutes drive from the coast and within easy reach of the attractive towns of St Malo , Dinan and Dinard. You can also easily escape into the countryside and walk down to the beautiful and peaceful river Rance from the house.

The house has been renovated to a high standard and retains it's original charm and features- tastefully furnished throughout to provide comfortable accommodation for up to 8 people. There's also a private courtyard - perfect for a family barbecue or a freshly baked croissant from the village bakery which is just opposite the house.

Sleeping 8 in 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, l'ancienne poste is a good choice for the larger family or group looking to explore this fascinating part of France.

On entering the house you will find a large living room with 3 large sofas around an original fireplace with log burner. On the ground floor you will also find a well-equipped kitchen with a table and four chairs this leads to a dining room with a large table seating 12.

From the dining room, stairs lead up to the mezzanine twin bedroom.

From the living room, an original wooden staircase leads up to the first floor. First you will come to the children's twin bedroom with bunkbed. Next is the spacious and light master bedroom with king-size bed. There is also a bathroom on this floor with WC, sink and bath with shower fitting.

On the second floor is a further bedroom with double bed and en suite WC, sink and shower.

There is a private enclosed courtyard, accessed from the living area, here there is a barbecue and garden furniture.

The house is located in a small Breton village which has a bakery , supermarkets and other facilities are a short drive away. There is a free public car park just next to the house , the village is pretty quiet so parking for several cars is not a problem.

A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking , the balance being due 8 weeks before your holiday.

A 200€ refundable damage deposit is payable 2 weeks before you arrive, this is refunded within 1 week of your departure.

The following options are available, please let us know if you require the following:-

Bedlinen and towels (17.50 euros per person per week).

End of stay clean. (40 euros).

Arrival time is from 4pm and departure time before 10am.

The Brittany region

Brittany is one of France's favourite visitor destinations, offering superb sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside, traditional country towns and some superbly preserved historic monuments. The region is firmly French but running through daily life is a strong Celtic heritage, with traditional Breton festivals and events taking place throughout the year.

Ille-et-Vilaine is in the north of the region with a long coastline of sandy beaches, dramatic headlands, secluded coves and a string of traditional seaside towns and villages. Inland the countryside is gently hilly with a network of footpaths, miles of uncrowded lanes and pretty towns and villages to explore. The seaside citadel town of St Malo, medieval Dinan and the impressive Mont St Michel all well worth visiting. Paris is within easy reach by high speed train, tickets booked in advance can be very good value.

La Ville-es-Nonais

La Ville-es-nonais is located between three attractive towns of the region, all within a short drive. St Malo is a popular walled town with good shops and and some fantastic sandy beaches ( often overlooked!). Dinard is an charming and elegant Victorian seaside town, and Dinan is a well preserved medieval jewel of a town with a castle and pretty port area.

A little further by car is the stunning abbey of Mont St Michel - go early or late to fully appreciate this beautiful and unique place.

If you prefer not to take the car, the charming village of St Sulliac and it's estuary are just two minutes walk away down a pleasant countryside lane. St Sulliac has been voted one of France's 148 finest villages("les plus beaux villages de la France") which are chosen for their exquisite setting, attractive architecture and delightful surroundings. Along this estuary and the surronding coast are some fantastic walks along the coastal foothpaths and some spectacular views out to sea, which really capture the wild beauty of Brittany's Emerald Coast.

"Excellent property in a great location"

We booked this property for a last minute break and found a real gem. The property is beautifully presented, well equipped (including bicycles!) and the beds are incredibly comfortable. There is a bolongerie almost directly opposite and several very good restaurants within a 10 minute drive. We had a great holiday and will definitely be returning.
