Description from owner

Description

Riverside Barn is a 16th century stone building situated in the village of La Trimouille on the banks of the River Benaize in the Place de la Liberte near the mini supermarket and bar/restaurant which serves lunch and dinner. Across the bridge is a further bar/restaurant. Local amenities include a boulangerie, pharmacy, bank, hairdresser, cinema and tennis courts.

The property was restored in 2013 to a modern standard retaining its 16th century original beams and foor levels. One of the latter day uses of the building was as a wheelwright workshop and cow shed. The accommodation provides an excellent base for tourism and relaxation.

The ground floor comprises a spacious open-plan sitting and dining area for 4 people with a window opening on to the river bank. There is a separate well equipped kitchen and cloakroom with laundry facility. Upstairs the master bedroom is light and roomy with river views from a Juliet balcony plus an en-suite shower room. “Immaculate property, charming hosts and croissants too!”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2016

We have been renting holiday properties in France for 15 years and this is definitely the best - stylish, luxurious. immaculately maintained and everything provided - nothing has been forgotten. We enjoyed croissants for breakfast from the boulangerie a short walk from the property, barbeques on the patio by the river and meals in Montmorillon and Chavigny. We enjoyed several days out, our favourite being the Birds of Prey display in Chavigny followed by a visit to the artisan shops there. There are too many things to see and do in the area in one week, so we hope to return for another visit. Other guests have highlighted how skilled and charming Barry and Vivien are as hosts. Their presence next door is reassuring, should you need advice/information on the local area but they are not obtrusive. We thoroughly recommend Riverside Barn.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.
