Situated on the best golden sandy beach in La Tranche this recently decorated and improved 6 bedroom 4 bathroom beach villa enjoys 180-degree south-facing sea and beach views - and is presented like new.

Following recent improvements this accommodation is now a private large detached house for your exclusive use, arranged over two floors, with around 2400 sq feet of internal space.

This house has a stunning setting directly at the boundary with the sand dunes for the best beach in The Vendee called La Griere Plage - a huge golden sandy strip that heads for miles in each direction.

The house comfortably sleeps 10 adults in 5 proper bedrooms, plus a small 6th windowless bedroom downstairs is ideal for the folding cot, or for small children sleeping in the bunk beds if needed. All bedrooms and reception rooms have USB charging points for phones and iPads etc..

To the front of the property is a private wooded area and there is ample off-street private parking for cars. Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior agreement, please ask for details.

The beach is so close that you can hear the ocean when the doors are open, it extends over 8 kilometres and gets gently busier as you walk along it towards the local town centre, where you will find a large number of award-winning restaurants, simple fast food stalls, bars, ice cream vendors and shops of all types.

Access to the beach is via the gate at the front of the property - less than a 2-minute stroll! Please note that there is no direct access to the beach from the rear of the property as French rules don't allow walking on the sand dunes. There is no garden access to the rear of the property as it's set directly on the sand-dune! (See photos)

Local shops / super markets / bars / banks / restaurants and tourist facilities are all only 10 minutes easy walk / 2 minutes drive and there is a large Super-U Hypermarket about 5 minutes drive away.

La Griere is recognised as the premium region of La Tranche.

The property has been recently completely refurbished with a stunning new Ikea kitchen with dishwasher / oven / hob / microwave / cappucino machine / fridge / freezer (with integrated automatic ice maker) and lots lots more.

The open-plan dining room is directly off the beach patio with a large family dining table and panoramic sea and beach views. The upstairs balcony is south-facing and can be accessed from the Kitchen/Dining room, Living Room and Master Bedroom. The patio also has a charcoal BBQ for easy cooking and easy indoor/outdoor living.

The living room is very large, with flatscreen TV (including English language Netflix and a generous free-to-use film library).

Downstairs the house has a superb home cinema system with a big screen projector with additional comfy seating and an open-plan hobby / second dining room with a large table.

The property has free to use Wifi internet access.

To the front of the property is a large and private outdoor sun patio with a second (often shaded) outdoor dining area, outdoor table / chairs / sunloungers and a sand pit.

A private wooded area sits to the front of the property with dappled shade. Caravans and tents are not permitted on the property.

From the entrance hall a cupboard houses a Bosch washing machine, Bosch tumble dryer, iron, ironing board etc.

Getting around

You can easily walk to all essential amenities / shops in the local village of La Griere which also has restaurants / shops / bars and a premium local artisan market. The road infrastructure is excellent and there's a local bus service (usually free if you're heading to major shops / tourist areas) and there's a taxi firm.

Very Good

“A wonderful holiday in a wonderful house”

We absolutely loved our time staying in the beach house. We were 2 families with 5 children between us ranging from 1-8 years old and it was perfect for everyone. The rooms were all clean and spacious and the beach views were simply idyllic. The beach is a 2 minute walk from the property meaning it was possible to pop home for lunch/nap time. The TV has English channels/YouTube which was great for when the children needed a bit of downtime and the cinema room downstairs was perfect on the day that we had rain. The coffee machine and self refilling ice cube drawer in the fridge are things that we have missed since coming home! It is just a few minutes walk to La Griere which has a few restaurants, a delicious bakery, pizzeria etc. Super U is 5 minutes in the car. The free bus to La Tranche is something that we took advantage of several times and leaves regularly throughout the day. James is an excellent host and replied almost immediately to any query that we had. It was very reassuring to know that he was there. The property was cleaned half way through our stay (so perfectly we were reluctant to let the children and their sandy feet back in!). The bed linen and towels were all changed which was really nice. We made some very special memories here. Our BBQs on the balcony overlooking the ocean with a glass of something cold (once the children were in bed!) won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Thank you x

“Great house with amazing view”

We were two families (four adults and five children) staying in this lovely house. It could have easily hosted another family as we had two spare bedrooms. The location near the beach was ideal and the view from the balcony was amazing. The house had all the things that you need and was well maintained and clean. The cinema room, with its selection of English language films, was great for the kids on rainy days and in the evenings. La Griere as a village has got a few decent shops and restaurants but it’s also easy to get into the bigger town of La Tranche sur Mer (either by foot, bike, car or using the free bus service). Owner was very friendly and helpful. Provided lots of information material about the house (and it’s appliances) and the surrounding area. We can’t wait to go back to this lovely part of France.

“Lovely holiday - with sea views to die for ! Already booked for our next holiday...”

We had a fabulous early June holiday in this big family house which has just had a major refit. So much space for our extended family ! 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs. With a big kitchen dining room that faces the beach. There are two living rooms which was great for the teenagers when they wanted some space. One has TV with home cinema and a library of films we could access which was great for our kids at bedtime. The beach here is beautiful and the views from the house are incredible - I've never stayed anywhere like this before. Very well equipped and lovely shops and restaurants nearby. We have re-booked already and would highly recommend a holiday here.
