“Fantastic home from home”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2020

This is a fantastic home from home that is the perfect base camp for a holiday in France. There is literally nothing to worry about. This is not a budget let with rickety beds, but a luxury appointed house with every conceivable pot and pan; herb and spice; glassware and seating for tens and tens of people. We occupied it as 2 families, but could have easily been 4 families or even 5. Everyone had sufficient space, from the younger ones to 2 teenagers. Local beaches have excellent surf facilities and there is plenty to do. Donna and Jay are excellent hosts and provided superb support throughout 2020 has been a challenging year. If these challenges are set to continue in the "new normal", what sets Beau Rivage apart is that it is sufficiently big and well appointed that you can effectively self isolate, or pragmatically isolate in a setting that still feels like a much needed holiday. My highest recommendation.... and yes... make sure you book bikes in advance as they get very busy in summer.

Owner's reply: Your 'highest recommendation' is just perfect, thank you...! We take so much pride in our home and want our guests to feel as comfortable (and safe) as possible in these trying times - so thank you for your comments re our home being 'set apart' from the rest. We enjoy so much welcoming and meeting our valued guests, and just hope 2021 brings a much easier year for us all to enjoy these simple pleasures. Thanks again for your amazing comments, keep well and keep safe x

“Lovely villa”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2020

We as a family of 6 with two kids aged 14 and 12 had a lovely stay at Beau Rivage. Donna was super helpful and on the ball right from the start of initial enquiry. The location of the property was ideal for walking to the village and took about 5 minutes max. The property itself was suitable for us all and was spotless on arrival. The kitchen was very well equipped and the private pool was a hit with both kids. We absolutely loved sitting on the terrace in the morning with a coffee or in the evening with a bbq and glass of red! The bottle of wine and fresh flowers on arrival was a lovely personal touch. A lovely enjoyable stay, thanks Donna.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your lovely review and so pleased Beau Rivage worked out so well for you all, especially being so close to the village so you could all stroll down to enjoy a nice evening meal. The terrace area had all new planting this year (another successful milestone achieved due to being in lockdown for so long!) so you arrived at just the right time to enjoy of the flowers in bloom with a nice glass of red in hand! It was lovely to meet your family and we very much hope to welcome you all back again one day. Keep well and keep safe x

“The equipment supplied at Beau Rivage and the personal touches make everything so convenient for a family holiday”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2020

Beau Rivage was a great size villa to comfortably sleep 14 of us (3 families). We had children ranging in age from 3yrs to 15yrs and everyone had a great holiday. The pool is plenty big enough for everyone to swim/play at once and lovely depth so our 5-year-old felt safe. Our first impression walking through the door was wonderful with some really excellent personal touches for our arrival. The kids and toys equipment supplied in the play-room was honestly unbelievable! There was literally something for everyone at Beau Rivage. It's very hard to find any criticisms - you have thought of everything! Thank you!

Owner's reply: Another fabulous review of Beau Rivage - THANK YOU so much, just what we wanted to continue to hear after this rather uncertain year! All our lock-down hours making sure Beau Rivage was in tip-top condition and sparking certainly has paid off. We are just thrilled you all had such a wonderful week with us and the weather certainly was on your side too. Just leaves us to invite you back for 2021 with open arms of course! See you then. Meanwhile, keep well and keep safe x

“Well appointed family holiday home in great location - a real find”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2020

A really super family friendly house on the edge of a lovely little town, Longeville-sur-Mer, very close to the beach. What more could you want! There is a small gated pool and hot tub, enclosed garden and large terrace area ideal for large groups eating outside. Well appointed kitchen with everything you could need. Super living space with 3 huge new very comfy sofas and massive TV. A separate TV for gaming. Dedicated playroom full of toys, dressing up clothes and a ball pit - a toddlers dream. Freezer stopped working whilst we were there but Donna appeared with a replacement that day. We also had a rogue sprinkler that was again dealt with immediately. We had never been to this part of France before and would definitely go back as there was something for everyone in our family. Our teenagers couldn't get enough of the surfing (Plages des Conches) O Fun (tree top adventure/water slides), O Bliss (water park) and the lovely cycle trails along the coast, all within easy reach of the house. It is an easy 10 mins from the beach or 20 mins on bikes - cycle paths through (a very quiet) town and amazing trails along the coast, great even for smaller kids. Everything you need is within walking distance in the town, great restaurant (Sports Bar), 2 bakeries, bike hire (book in advance if possible) supermarket, pharmacy. Twice weekly market - recommended. Thanks so much to Donna and Jay who went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed during our stay.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your support this year and for writing such a fabulous 5* review of your holiday experience at Beau Rivage - so very much appreciated. Thrilled the kids loved the play-room (AKA a toddlers dream) and thank you for making it look so good on your departure ;) We very much look forward to welcoming you all back soon. Keep well and keep safe x

“Fab family holiday house”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2020

Sitting here in quarantine after returning from France - but all worth it for a fabulous couple of weeks at Beau Rivage. I can only echo what most of the reviews have said - this is a terrific place for a family holiday with kids young and old, or even just a whole bunch of adults. The house was presented immaculately, and is kitted out with everything you need on a self-catering holiday. Well-equipped kitchen, Netflix, DVD's, books etc - great outside space to eat/chill out by the pool and hot-tub, and the local team were superbly helpful and lovely to meet. The village itself is quiet and charming - except on two days a week for the local market, where you can pick up some wonderful local food. Boulangerie a short walk away for breakfast and bread, and I can recommend the local restaurant Les Sports for some great French bistro food. As for the wider area, it has so much to offer for kids to do - we felt like we'd hardly scratched the surface. One tip is to try and book bikes before you get here as all the bike shops are empty of stock by Monday morning in peak season, coming back in at the weekend - and you will use the bikes on the miles of local trails, particularly down to the beach. Oh, and the Sunday transfer means quiet roads with no lorries, and added bonus. Donna and Jay were great to deal with before and during our stay, and have a lovely place here which we'd love to return to at some point. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your wonderful review of your time this year at Beau Rivage - we were so pleased to welcome you all especially after this very uncertain year. You were all so lovely and kind, and we very much hope you will come back and see us again soon. Meanwhile, keep well and keep safe. x

“Wonderful place to stay”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2019

We really enjoyed staying at 'Beau Rivage', it was everything we could have wanted. On arrival the house was immacculate and the gardens too were in great condition. Some particularly nice touches were our names on the chalkboard welcoming us, the towel swans in the bedroom and the welcome bottle of wine! The kitchen was so well equipped, it was nice having everything already there for us and made cooking big meals for everyone that much easier. We made use of a few trips by bike to the beach for the day, and it was great to be able to use the Bbq in the garden. The pool area was really nice to relax in too. Donna and her staff were really friendly to deal with, we couldn't have had a better time and we look forward to staying there again in future.

Owner's reply: Thrilled you all had a fabulous holiday with us at Beau Rivage - thanks for taking the time to write your wonderful review, it is greatly appreciated :) Yes, we definitely very much look forward to welcoming you all back - our 2020 bookings are now open. Thank you to all our wonderful guests in 2019 for posting their amazing 5* reviews, we received a record amount this year, so a HUGE thank you and here's to welcoming more wonderful guests in 2020! Happy Holidays to all x

“Our France visit was perfect thanks to our stay in this home.”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2019

From the first contact we knew the quality of communication and property was going to be first class. Donna is very quickl to respond to emails or phone calls. The introductory emails helped us plan our trip and also know more details about the home. We found the home extremely comfortable and clean. The welcome flowers and bottle of wine was also wonderful. The back yard and park next door was fun too. The beaches are within bike ride range which helped us work off all the tasty food and wine!

Owner's reply: Thanks again for coming to stay at Beau Rivage - it was a pleasure to meet you all. We are thrilled your first visit to France was so enjoyable and you experienced many of our wonderful local delights. Very much looking forward to welcoming you all back next year - will have another nice bottle of red waiting for you! Thanks again x

“Tranquil contrast to London life!”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2019

The children were entertained from dawn to dusk with the fantastic dressing up clothes and toys in the villa and the pool. The size and layout of Beau Rivage worked perfectly for our multi-generational family as there was plenty of space for us all. We were never worried about safety for the little ones in the garden as the pool area could not be more secure with the lockable gate and extra padlock for peace of mind. We loved being in the village and close to the boulangerie and there was a great creperie in the village too. It is a truly beautifully clean and pretty town and we were amazed by how untouristy and peaceful it was, until market day, which was a complete contrast with stools galore and people coming from far and wide for their local fruit, veg, cold meats etc! It was great fun and very french! considering the time of year, we felt like we’d Found a hidden gem that no one else knew about! There was a fantastic range of different beaches, which all had something slightly different to offer (rock pooling, swimming, woodland walk, shell collecting, sand castle making) and they were all situated near to the villa (about 10-15 mins in the car) which we also loved, as seaside lovers. We all swam in the sea every day and had BBQ’s every evening. What more could you ask for?! The maintenance team was very quick to sort out an issue with the fridge door and the support team couldn't have been accommodating and the owner is very efficient at responding to any queries, giving it great customer service, which is hard to find these days! It has been the perfect tonic to our busy 'London-life' peaceful, tranquil, beautiful and relaxed for all. We'd love to return to Beau Rivage.”

Owner's reply: Thanks for your wonderful review of your holiday at Beau Rivage. We were thrilled that all the kids loved all the dressing up clothes, indoor and outdoor toys/games etc plus had the best fun in the heated secure swimming pool. Thank you also for your kind words re the 'great' customer service experience received and speed/efficiency of our attentive maintenance team. We all work so hard to make sure each and every one of our guests receive the best possible holiday experience and hope all our excellent 5* reviews reflect this. Thanks again for coming to stay, we look forward to weloming you all back very soon x

“Beautiful house for our large family celebration”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2019

We holiday with our young family in this area every year, however this year we needed a large house with 14 family members coming to celebrate our parents Ruby wedding anniversary and various family birthdays. We had a wonderful week (despite the cloudy weather!) and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the house to others. It had everything we needed for a relaxing week. Dad loved the BBQ and we all loved the pool and hot tub! Donna and her team made the whole booking experience very easy and stress free. A wonderful week and we hope to return again in future x This review is from my 9 year old daughter and her thoughts on the holiday and house: We were all so excited to come and stay at Beau Rivage. When we arrived it was very beautiful. I loved all the swans at the end of the beds and the beds were so very very comfy. All of us children loved to see all our names on the chalkboard in the playroom and we loved playing in the pool! The market was beautiful and I loved the sunflower honey. Thank you, Donna, for letting us stay at your lovely villa xx

Owner's reply: Thanks so much to you and your daughter for taking the time to share your fabulous feedback on your special celebrations with us at Beau Rivage. It really was such a pleasure to meet you and your lovely family and we wish your mum and dad many many more happy years. Thanks again, and hope to welcome you all back for their 41st wedding anniversary :) x
