Location description from manager

The Region of Murcia region

The Murcia Region is a privileged land, a perfect example of quality of life in the Mediterranean. It’s warm, mild temperatures (with an annual average of 21 C) and low rainfall makes it an oasis of well-being in any season.
The weather endows Murcia with a distinct flavour, making it a region full of life and colour, where springtime seems eternal. A land where you and your family will be able to enjoy over 300 days of sunshine a year.

Murcia's abundant clear and sunny days give the Region a highly distinctive, spectacular and warm Mediterranean light. The Murcia Region, a rendezvous between two seas.

Outstanding beaches of soft sand, clean water and dazzling sunsets. Known as the "Warm Coast", the Murcia Region shoreline runs just over 250 km and is shared by two seas: the Minor Sea (Mar Menor) and the Mediterranean. The landscape is peppered with breathtaking cliffs, heavenly secluded beaches of endless white sand, lively seaports and natural coves of crystal-clear waters.

Many of these areas are part of the Region’s network of Protected Natural Lands. A noteworthy geographical feature is La Manga, a strip of coastline that encloses and separates the 170 km2 Minor Sea lagoon from the Mediterranean, connected only by channels or gorges. The Minor Sea's warm waters have always been renowned for their health benefits.

Areas of ecological interest are also found, such as the San Pedro del Pinatar salt flats and the Calblanque Natural Park, reservoirs, rivers and two natural parks make the Murcia Region a clean and highly appealing area for tourism. The inland areas of the Murcia Region offer a very rich heritage of natural landscapes and reserves. Dreamlike places that can be enjoyed by both those seeking peace and fresh air, as well as others who wish to supplement an intensive, active tourism offering with the respite of recreational areas.

Those looking to enjoy nature will find an activity that best matches their tastes: hiking trails, hill-climbing, on horseback or by foot. We'd like to recommend two not-to-be-missed alternatives. They are the Sierra Espuña and El Valle Natural Parks, which all can enjoy, whether seeking activities or relaxation.

“Lovely location, apartment needs tlc”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2016

Firstly, the location of the apartment is great. Very central, directly opposite the hotel which is closed at the moment, but believed to be opening again next year. A short walk takes you to the supermarket which is well stocked and very reasonably priced. Also close by is the town centre where there is a bar, restaurants and estate agents etc. We visited La Torre in June and again in October and both times only one restaurant was open. Now the apartment.....There is a balcony leading from both bedrooms facing onto the hotel and street below. It's lovely to sit there in the morning and watch the world go by. Off the lounge is the terrace with a table and chairs and two sun loungers. This is a total suntrap and is great to sunbathe on. The lounge area is well furnished and comfortable. The tv provides many channels and there is great wifi. Now the downside.....the bathroom is awful. The shower curtain was very dirty and stained, particularly on the bottom. The towel rail was hanging out of the wall and the wooden vanity basin badly needs sanded and painted as the varnish was flaking. The toilet brush holder was rusty and the toilet brush itself was disgusting! The bedrooms both have single beds but I have to say I didn't think the bedding was clean. There were stains on the bed sheets and pillowcases. There were quilted throws on the beds which again were stained. The sun loungers were very dirty as were the outdoor table and chairs. I don't think the apartment had been lived in for some time and could do with a thorough clean. It's such a shame as the apartment has so much potential, being a penthouse and having a great location which is why I've given it three stars but due to the state of the bathroom and cleanliness issues I cannot give it a higher score.

“perfect rental apartment”

Reviewed 2 Jun 2013

just home from La Torre, the apartment was central located within very easy distance of the hotel, bars, restaurants and shop. I went with friends who stayed in a friends apartment 5 minutes walk away, they had apartment envy due to the large sun terrace and pool, the terrace was a great sun trap in the afternoon when the wind was up, it sheltered you from the wind and saw the sun until well into the evening there are now two sun loungers on the terrace which can be taken to the pool, the pool was quiet and regularly checked for maintenance and making sure only tennants of the resort were using the pool. We went to the hotel most nights for drinks which were reasonably priced and the hotel was a lovely place to spend an evening chilling out. they begin a bus service in peak season taking you to the beach there is a small price for this but I am not sure of the price as it did not begin running until June. you can buy stamps from the hotel and they will send post for you if needed. I was picked up at the airport quite late by the contact for the apartment who offered to take me to a shop to get milk etc. he was also on hand to assist me with anything I needed A lovely beach to visit is Mil Palmeras it was sheltered from the wind and had an amazing blue meditterian sea with a few beach bars/restaurants. All in all a lovely week. I would stay at this apartment again, it was a great base for the area.

“Lovely stay in well equped apartment.”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2012

Excellent apartment, equipped with everything we needed other than sun loungers, an essential in an apartment like this. Would have given a 5 out of 5 if the owners had provided sun loungers that could be taken down the the pool everyday. Apartment well equiped with dishwasher, washing machine, TV, English and other European channels and DVD player. Beds were comfortable and the decor was nice. The resort was excellent, well maintained and the pools beautifully clean. This pool was quite deep (I was out of my depth about 1/4 of the way in), so arm bands are essential for non swimming children. Even though it was peak season when we travelled, the resort was quiet, which was lovely for us. On some days there would only be 2 or 3 families around the pool. We travelled at the end of July and over into August and the first week of August was getting busier. We tried one restaurant on site called Acacia. The food was OK, but a bit expensive we thought. We mostly ate at our apartment as the views from the terrace were lovely and the kitchen well equiped with a dishwasher :) The on site supermarket is a well stocked Spar with all you could want. The prices were not too bad although we found an Aldi in local Torre Pacheco which was much, much better value. Eroski is a massive hypermarket and there is one in San Javier and one in Murcia both about 20-30 minutes drive. We needed a doctor for our son whilst away and the apartment had details of a Medical Centre in Torre Pacheco. Tricky to find, so a map would have been helpful. The receptionist and doctor both spoke English well and we were seen immediatly for a small fee (45 euros). Out and about. The area immediatly arounf the Polaris resort was very arid. We hired a car which is essential here and drove out to Cartagena to find a beach. 30 minutes away we found a lovely cove, very good for snorkelling and diving. The town is quite nice to look around aswell. We also found lovely sandy beaches to the north of San Pedro del Pinatar. One of the beaches had inflatable slides on the sea for 5 euros per 30 minutes. The beaches around the mar Menor were very touristy and not so nice with what I call 'kitty litter' instead of sand, although Los Alcazares seemed nice when we went one evening and was sandy. Murcia had a lovely cathedral and was good for shopping. We visited the Aqua Park in Murcia. Excellent, although very busy and our rubber ring was pinched which was shame. Make sure children that want to go on the slides are 1.2 meters tall as they are very stricy about this although I think that the rubber ring slides were quite safe if you had a double ring and an adult went down with the child. The pool play areas for the children are excellent aswell. We, overall, had a lovely stay.
