“Pivotal Parrilla”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2012

We have spent two weeks at La Casita in mid-2012, and believe it is perfect for a couple who want to get away from crowds, so as to explore Inland Spain. Elizabeth & Roger are welcoming and knowledgeable (yet discreet!) owners, who have taken time to learn about Andalucía, and can offer you advice based on their own experiences if you wish. The setting is picturesque, the accommodation is first rate, and the welcome pack is excellent. La Casita is ideal as the pivotal point if, like us, you want to visit the main attractions of Sevilla, Granada, and Córdoba - these are all easily within 2 hours reach now that the A45 and A92 Motorways provide a great network (accessible via Villanueva de Algaidas). Take time too, to visit Priego de Cordoba (about 35 minutes away) which has some great independent shops and some lovely historical attractions. La Casita is delightfully furnished and has all you could wish for in such a location - private sun terrace, small pool (shared with their other cottage), and substantial electric fans to help you keep cool at night! We loved it. Thank you! Ed & Fiona

Another knowledgeable couple who wanted to discover the Real Spain and very much succeeded and know the region almost as well as we do.

“incredibly relaxing .”

Roger and Elizabeth , are the two most perfect hosts you will find in Andalucia .They have gone out of their way to make every thing possible , with loads of extra information on the area , history and the people of the villages . Every little extra added to a perfect week for myself and Joan . We thank you both for the best holiday we have had abroad . And Roger is an incredible gastronomic host . We look forward to return to this oasis in the Andalucian hills. Brian and Joan

We feel lucky to be situated within this area of history and culture, and to welcome guests similar to Brian & Joan. Haste ye back

“Everything was perfect!”

We had a great time in the casita. The owners made us feel really welcome. The casita was cosy and very well equiped. Even a very complete welcome basket. The owners helped us to get to know the area, showed us around and introduces us to local people. Thanks to them we had a great holiday. Also, the location was wonderful, with spectacular views of the olive hills surrounding the cottage. We would love to come back some day!

Sascha & Gerda were a very nice Dutch couple who were interested in our locale and who wanted to visit the Olive factory and with the language skills of Sascha, who translated, the visit was really enjoyable, we have taken many guests and I have always had to translate as best as I can. They got on really well with our locals and were invited to a family Hogmanay in the local bar. Would recommend this couple to other proprietors, flat left clean and tidy.

“So good we came back again !”

Stayed in June/July in Casa Limon but as it was already booked we stayed in the Casita. Really cosy with a double bed ensuite and kitchen/lounge. Best thing was the terrace which is really private and gets the sun all day. The weather was fab and again we had a really excellent time. Will be going again ASAP.

We thank you for your review and we do look forward to your visit in 2012

“A quiet hide-away with all the luxury you can think of”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2011

This was our second time in Spain and hopefully there will be more to follow in The Casita. All the good experience started with a rapid response to our booking queries and confirmation on prices and availability. Our hosts, Roger and Elizabeth, are a charming Scottish couple, who own and run this business. It shows they've got long years of expertise as everything ran really smoothly (ie: queries, booking, confirmation, reception, etc.). There was only to ask, if we needed anything, we got it straight away. I have to say these guys are brilliant. They live on site and have an in depth knowledge of the area in terms of attractions, history, locals, current political issues, property advice. So should you have no plans in mind whatsoever on arrival, they can tell you about all the local sights, how to get there, but they can also put you in to the right direction to find the best restaurant or tapas-bar. They can also arrange for walking and birding tours and fishing on the nearby lake. A collated booklet describing all of these was at hand in the apartment. They also provide evening meals and some other catering should wish to stay-in like a whisky taster course and paella&sangria nights as well as Sunday brunch. This lovely couple can enhance your Spanish countryside experience by one thousand-fold. The apartment has a parking place, private gated entrance, access to pool Apr-Oct, secluded and panoramic location, you will need a car for your stay here Terrace private terrace with sunbeds, patio furniture, parasol, and a gasBBQ with utensils, panoramic views on opposite hills (olive groves) I believe it faces towards SW-W Kitchen gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toaster, with all utensils you can possibly need Living room/bedroom the bed is amazing, the mattress is the most comfortable I have ever came across including my own, could be longer though, but I am 190cm tall. SatTV with most English speaking channels, didn't watch it at all as there was so much else to do, DVD and CD player, some books and DVDs are provided too. Bathroom nicely tiled, shower, sink, toilet in a lovely, tidy order, as the whole apartment throughout. Best points: - outstanding service - quiet, comfortable, luxurious, affordable, strategic location for visiting Granada, Malaga, Cordoba Worst points: - It wasn't for us, but may be for some, that it's location is very rural and may be difficult to find at first, but ask for the coordinates for your navigation and it'll get you there or ring Roger and he'll help you

We do thenk you for the courtesy of your review and thank you for the comments therein. It is important to us and other potential clients that we receive constructive reviews from previous guests, we look forward to welcoming you back, should you return to this particular region of Andalucia, with fond memories, Roger & Elizabeth
