“Lovely family holiday”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2017

Casa Carolina is the perfect place for a family reunion or holiday with so much to do around the house you won't need to venture far. Highlight of course was the pool which, even on the couple of rainy days we experienced, was still well used as it was warm and humid. We also enjoyed sitting around the TV in the huge front room as a family to watch 'Bake Off' on the last night of our hols. There is plenty of space, and even a very comfortable sofa bed and 'trundle' mini-bed if needed. With two bathrooms and an outside shower, there's plenty of space for people to get ready. There are plenty of inflatables and toys around the house and the fridge in the pool room is a godsend and impromptu cocktail cabinet. Lots of shady places to sit around the pool, and sunspots too for sunbathers. Taxis into Benidorm are very reasonable, and I would highly recommend La Nucia taxis whose details you will find in the house. If you want to stay local, I would recommend Ralf's sports bar for a friendly welcome and the most generous G&T's I've ever seen (hic!), also delicious food at the Panorama Restaurant and the little bodega behind it (selling German cuisine - the food is lovely). Down the road you'll find Masymas supermarket and an Aldi (the staff will ring you a taxi back if you ask). Would also recommend Apolo Bar and Gambrinas for their delicious tapas. Caroline, the owner, is very easy to book with and will put your mind at rest if you have any queries or you need airport transfers. Would also like to thank the pool guy and Scott, who came out to fix a bulb that had blown. All in all a very satisfactory experience in a beautiful villa with help on hand very promptly if needed. Can I also add the dishwasher was a godsend, plus - completely unrelated - if you like walking, you can turn right out of the Villa and follow the road in the direction of the mountains behind where you are staying. We found a fantastic hiking track that took us high above Benidorm with fantastic views. Lovely, rugged, unexpected countryside. Phew. I think that's all. Thanks Caroline for your friendly assistance. We had a ball!

Owner's reply: Hi Gillian, wow well all i can say is a big Thank You. I am yet to try the new sports bar and the new Bodega i believe they are a real hit and as for the track that sounds great as well, i think you have got to explore more than i ever have haha thankyou very much, Caroline xxx

“Great villa, great location!”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2017

This was our first time at this villa and it was excellent. There was 10 of us altogether ranging from age 70 down to age 1 and we had an amazing time. The villa has everything you could possibly need. The air con was great for cooling down after sunbathing on the many sun beds outside around the pool. The pool itself was lovely and the kids had many hours of fun splashing around on the inflatables. The outside area is lovely with a seperate undercover area and outdoor fridge for keeping the beers cool! There are two barbecues. Inside the villa was clean and tidy. Beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pans and crockery etc. The location of the villa is great, with a small selection of restaurants a short walk away. Benidorm centre is onlya 10 minute car journey away, with Altea and Albir a little further away but well worth a visit. There is a Mercadona supermarket 2 minutes away by car for all your essentials. If you have a hire car, make sure you park it on the drive. We had two cars, one on the drive and the other on the road and the police came knocking one day to say we had to put the second car on the drive also, which was fine but a tight squeeze for two. Caroline dealt with our booking brilliantly and nothing was too much trouble for her. Would definitely book again if we return to Spain!

Owner's reply: What a perfect review, Thank You very much and i am so happy you all had a lovely time & i hope we can meet next time in the future, kind regards Caroline xxx

“Brilliant”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2013

This was our first time in a villa there was 4 children and 5 adults and it was amazing, there is lots of out door space for days round the pools with great views from the roof terrace, Internet was great for the kids . Just a short walk away there is some lovely bars and restaurants, the Chinese buffet is well worth a visit just 10 euros all you can eat, we got the bus into benidorm a couple of times which was 1.50 euros each and then got taxis back which was about 13 euros for each car as they will only carry 4 passengers. The owner Caroline was very helpful arranged our transfers which were spot on, I can't fault anything than you to Caroline and Alison.

Owner's reply: Hiya Julie, thank you very much for your review. Its been a long long time since i have been to the Chinese Buffett and is really good to hear it is still the same price as a good few years ago as are the busses. The taxi's sound like they have gone up a euro but i suppose thats not to bad. Im glad to hear the children had a good time too. Hope to meet you soon in the future, best regards, Caroline x

Caroline is very helpful and always answers emails quickly. The Villa is excellent and was everything we required. The outside space and pool is fantastic and is where we spent most of our time The villa is near to local bars and restaurants which we found very friendly. We walked in to Benidorm from the villa but taxi's are reasonable. I would definitely recommend this Villa .

Owner's reply: Hiya love, Thank you so much for you review, i think it's important for other people to have as much information as possible to put their minds at rest before they book with us so there happy!! Thanx again love, Caroline xx

“Well appointed Villa and attentive hosts”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2012

Casa Carolina is a spacious, well appointed (four bedroomed) Villa which we enjoyed staying in. We travelled as a family party of five although the Villa can easily accommodate larger groups if you make the most of using the extra-large bedroom (kitted out with four single beds). La Nucia is a tranquil pleasant haven some 8 kilometres from either the beaches or night life activities available in the very vibrant town of Benidorm. Outside of a beach, the Villa is very close to all other local facilities required to enjoy a great holiday; good local restaurants, bars and supermarkets etc - all within leisurely strolling distance. The UK based owners (Caroline and Billy) together with the Spanish based manager (Alison) work very hard to ensure that the Villa meets expectations and go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Inside the Villa you'll find everything you need and more, including a great lounge and big plasma TV (loads of English satellite channels too). A good wireless Wi-Fi signal is available and a desktop PC is set-up to access the internet too. You may need a lesson in using the grill element of the standalone oven, as my limited catering experience did not manage to crack this (that said, I struggle with a toaster!). Air conditioning exists in some, but not all of the rooms, but the Villa is definitely one of the best we've stayed in for many years. Outside is fantastic; lovely pool; barbecue set-up; shaded area to dine and rest around the poolside; fridge for the drinks and grub etc. There is so much space outside to relax and enjoy - we spent nearly all our time chilling out in and around the pool area. We used a hire car throughout our stay and I'm glad that we did as the local bus service was very disappointing! We didn't hardly see any buses and "gave up" on waiting; so trips to Benidorm and other areas were invariably made via our hire car or by taxi. Caroline has established good local contacts within the community who can help out if anything crops up; Alison is quick to respond to any question raised! In summary, it's a really good Villa, far enough away from Benidorm for those who prefer a quieter environment and near enough to Benidorm for those who want to party hard or enjoy the beach and its sights!

Owner's reply: Thankyou Patrick, that was a really nice review. Hope you all return soon and i am happy you all had such a good time, Thanks again, Caroline.

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2011

An excellent spacious villa with a beautiful well maintained pool area. Having just returned last week from 10 days in this villa we have already booked for 3 weeks next year. This villa has everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms are spacious and have very good airconditioning units (which we needed). The kitchen is very well equipped with a dishwasher and coffee machine and more than enough crockery and cutlery. The lounge area is very large and can easily seat everyone staying in the villa with access to several uk tv channels. The outdoor area of this villa is brilliant. There are loads of different areas to sit both in the sun or in the shade. My children (aged 14,10,6,3&3) were outside from early morning until well into the evening. We used the barbeque area lots and the kids loved playing in the pool house when it was too hot to stay in the sun. We found the local supermarkets very reasonable and they are very close. The bus stop is only a short walk and only costs 1.30 euros to get to benidorm. A taxi was around 10 euros We were greeted by Sue and Steve who were very helpful in showing us around the villa and gave us useful information about the local area. They were more than happy to be contacted throughout the week to answer any questions we had. As for Caroline she has been great, very approachable and helpful. We have been in contact on the phone and by e-mail and I have always been very happy with our communication, e-mails are always answered promptly and she is very easy to talk to on the phone and nothing seems too much trouble. Overall a great holiday and we are all alredy excited to stay again next year!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely review, i'm so glad you had such a good time, the little ones sounded like they loved it over the phone. I'm over the moon you are all coming back next year, we have had some good conversations over the phone and am looking forward to meeting you all in person next year, thanks again and see you soon, Caroline x
