Casa Shalimar is a beautiful villa on the rocks of the sea with stunning views, especially at sunset. The house is perfect as an artists/writers retreat,
Casa Shalimar is decorated in an eclectic, shabby-chic style,The house has been designed to be a comfortable home, not a show home... .
There are three bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, a modern, fully equipped kitchen, pool table and infinity pool to enjoy.
Park at the top and wind your way down the many steps to the gates. Open the front door and you are greeted with the feeling of being on a boat as all you can see is the Mediterranean. Change into your costume and jump from the rocks or from the steps into the sea. Snorkel and dive in the clear sea. Its claimed that galleons from Spanish Amarda sank nearby, and many divers search the bottom for gold coins.
Casa Shalimar is situated on the edge of the sleepy fishing village of La Herradura in Costa Tropical, the warmest part of southern Spain… 70 km east of Malaga, in the province of Granada.
Googlemap info to pinpoint the house…
look up Google map.
then put in la Herradura, Spain.
then when that comes up put in.. Camino de la Torre. and my house is a dangly bit of road on the left between Camino de la Torre and Calle Cala de Perro.

""Freedom in Paradise""
Last october we went to la Herradura for a week off with the children (11, 12 and 15). Although it was october, the weather was still nice so we could use the wonderful private pool which is only a few metres from the sea. The house gave us all a feeling of freedom, privacy, solidarity and timelessness. All that because of the 'magic vibes' in this house, can't explain it but it felt So good! Maybe bacause of the fact that you are in the middle of nature actually, living on a rock, with mountains and sea which surround you. We fell in love with this house! The seaview from the livingroom and the bedrooms is just stunning! We will definitely come back! (my apologies for my English, we're from the Netherlands ;-))

"Fabulous house, wonderful setting"
What a beautiful house - really attractively designed and decorated, it's both stylish and welcoming. We were there in July with temperatures in the late 30s but with the sea breeze were comfortable and mosquito free. Swimming from the rocks and in the pool is bliss. No need for a car, La Herradura's horseshoe bay is an easy and pleasant walk with restaurants on the beach. Many thanks for a really relaxing week.
